Fantastic experience the captain and the crew were very attentive. The food was great. I’m vegan and they made me a special dish. They took us to some very nice spots to go snorkeling. The boat was much larger than I thought and in good condition and everyone seemed passionate about the work they were doing.

The day was a success. The captain and his 1st mate were very obliging. They worked very hard to ensure we had a great time and that our needs were met. The weather was great and the sloths in the trees at Playa Blanca were an added bonus. Snorkeling at Playa Blanca was the best.

Although I didn’t mind people should know that you need to move between boats on this trip. The toilet on the boat was not working but we were notified and given lots of opportunities for a bathroom. Jenny made an amazing lunch. The boat crew was great too!

We’d just like to clarify one point for future guests: as stated in the tour description, we arrive by land transport at the Portobelo dock. This dock is not deep enough for a large catamaran to approach, as it’s designed for smaller speedboats. For this reason, there is a very short transfer (about 2 minutes) by speedboat to reach the catamaran, which is also explained in the tour description. We’re glad to hear that you felt well informed about the toilet situation and that the crew provided plenty of opportunities for bathroom breaks. And of course, we’re very happy you enjoyed Jenny’s lunch and the service from the crew!

Not what we expected! Not worth $200/person. Catamaran was very small and very run down. Spent more time in the car then on the sea. Food was ok. No drinks. Other excursions offer more bang for your buck.

That said, we’re excited to share that within the next two weeks we will be introducing a new, larger boat to further improve the experience. Regarding the itinerary, the destination is approximately 1.5 hours from Panama City, although travel time may vary depending on traffic conditions. In your case, the transfer took longer because the pickup location you requested was outside Panama City, which increased the overall journey time—particularly in the morning, when traffic on the bridge is typically heavy due to commuters heading into the city for work. In terms of refreshments, the inclusion of water only (and no additional drinks) is clearly specified from the beginning, so guests are informed in advance of what is included. Finally, it’s important to note that many other excursions you may be comparing are based within Panama City, whereas this experience takes you to the Caribbean side, which involves additional logistics and transportation reflected in the price. We truly appreciate your comments, as they help us improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.

Your reservation was made for 4 adults and 2 infants, but when you arrived there were 6 adults in your group and no infants according to our tariffs. When our team explained that the reservation needed to be corrected to reflect the actual number of 6 adults, and that the corresponding balance needed to be paid, you became upset and spoke disrespectfully to several members of our staff. The additional amount you mention was not a random fee—it was simply the difference for the two additional adults who were not included in the original booking. We always aim to provide a great experience for all our guests, and most visitors really enjoy the tour, the beaches, and the snorkeling. Unfortunately, it appears this review was left in retaliation after we asked that the correct amount be paid according to the actual number of adults attending.

Longer drive than I thought (maybe didn’t pay attention)…1.5-2 hours each way from Panama City. Calling the water taxi (5-10 minutes from land to the catamaran) a speed boat is a stretch. Great captain (also chef) and deck hand. Two gorgeous stops…. Snorkeling is mediocre (but I’ve been in some spectacular places so depends on your comparison). Water temp was comfortable (which is saying a lot coming from me). We saw two sloths in the trees at our 2nd stop… exciting! Both stops were beautiful. I’m saying I’d recommend… given the caveats above. It was interesting to see some of the countryside.

As for the snorkeling, it can vary quite a bit depending on which coral reefs you reach—there’s an extensive reef system, and the areas closer to the beach tend to be more limited, so comparisons really matter. It sounds like the captain and crew truly made the experience, and spotting two sloths is always a highlight. There is something to be said for relaxing on the deck of a catamaran. And for being served a delicious lunch while relaxing on the deck of the catamaran. Then add snorkeling, swimming, SUP, a kayak, and some aquatic wildlife and you have a perfect day. The monkey in the tree was a huge bonus. It was a wonderful tour.

Lovely boat trip sandwiched between a grueling van experience

The boat is exactly as advertised, but the van taking you there is lackluster at best. And it’s like a 2 hour drive both ways, and they don’t give a lot of instructions right when you get off the van. So we thought they might about to harvest our organs. All jokes aside it was a lovely day and the folks on the boat were great.

Not worth the money

No one helped me into the first boat I slipped and really got hurt. The catamaran was tiny, not clean, smelled bad and over crowded. You could sit on the roof, which didn’t seem safe. The day was 12 hours (unusual traffic) with only two hours of actual water time. The first stop we had to get on a tiny raft boat that wasn’t uncomfortable. The snorkling was mediocre. It’s outrageous the price they charged. The staff was nice, they did their best but the experience was pretty bad. I’ve never left a bad review, but I’ve taken many catamaran tours on big beautiful clean boats where you can relax in the sun. This really was so tiny. This barely qualified. So disappointing.

Regarding the vessel, the catamaran’s size, layout, and rooftop seating are clearly described in advance and comply with all safety regulations. The boat is cleaned daily, and we did not observe any issues with cleanliness or odors during the tour. The total duration of the day includes transportation time, which was extended due to unusual traffic conditions beyond our control. Regarding water time, the itinerary allows for up to four hours of swimming and snorkeling across the different stops. Participation is optional, and during the tour you chose to remain on the boat for a significant portion of this time, which is why your personal water time was approximately two hours. Regarding snorkeling, the coral area was clearly indicated and accessible to participants, though you did not swim to that area, which may have influenced your impression. We would also like to note that the other guests on this tour had a wonderful experience and left us a 5-star review. As with any group activity, individual experiences can vary depending on personal expectations and attitude. We strive to create a positive environment for all guests and encourage participants to arrive with an open and positive mindset. Finally, this experience is designed for guests who enjoy a more adventurous, small-group atmosphere rather than a luxury cruise. We appreciate your acknowledgment of our staff’s efforts, as they work hard to provide the best possible experience for every guest. National Park Catamaran Adventure!

The Venas Azules are beautiful and we had a good amount of time to swim around the mangroves and see a few fish and sea creatures. Beautiful area! The snorkling near the beach had more corals and colorful fish. The water and scenery were beautiful. The beach we went to had four sloths and one of the two guides went out of his way to point them out to us! The hamburger was good! The crew were nice! We enjoyed ourselves.

Amazing Tour Experience

What an amazing experience! We went on this tour with my coworkers, and everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The crew were so friendly, welcoming, and professional — they made sure we felt safe by giving clear safety instructions and took great care of us throughout the trip. The journey itself was smooth and relaxing, with great music on board that added to the atmosphere. The islands we visited were breathtaking, the swimming spots crystal clear, and the reefs were full of vibrant colors and so many different kinds of fish — truly like swimming in a natural aquarium. The food was fresh, delicious, and exactly what you’d want on a day out at sea. From the boat to the service to every little detail, it was all just sooooo good! Enjoyable Catamaran Experience!

We really enjoyed our Catamaran experience with Juan David and Raf! Although traveling from Panama City to Portobelo (on the Atlantic side) is about 2 hours (each way), it was well worth the trip. We left our hotel at 7 am and returned by 4:30 pm, and still had over 5 hours to enjoy boating, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and stand up paddle-boarding in the beautiful Caribbean waters. Juan David and Raf were welcoming and friendly, so when we weren't in the water, we also enjoyed speaking with them. We were the only ones on the catamaran which made it a special private experience for our family. Definitely recommend!

Okay so let's start from the beginning since the tour operator does not seem to get what happened and why I am upset. 1. I want to wear my slip resistant shoes and I will not go barefoot due to health reasons. So when I was sitting in the boat to get unboard on the catemaran I was told i could not go on board I had to go barefoot and I said I can't do that so finally the captain allowed me to enter the boat. That already gave me a ba ntaste in my mouth 2. We went snorkeling in the first area and the captain without inviting us to go with him to show us around in the water went snorkeling by himself .the 2 other guests on the tour went on their own and I was snorkeling by myself wondering g why the captain was not kind enough to invite me to snorkel with him since he was going by himself.anyway and that would have been good service 3.on the boat we went to the 2nd stop. When we arrived there we had 2 hours to go snorkeling kayaking or padleboarding. Since the captain had been snorkeling on the fist stop I went over and asked if he could go with me I would even pay and rafael the other guy working there said he would go kayaking with me but the captain said they were not allowed to go snorkeling nor kayaking although he had been snorkeling the first stop. Then I asked if they would keep an eye on me while i was snorkeling alone and to my surprise the captain took off in the dingy and rafael was nowhere to be found. The 2 other guests were not around while this transpired. So I was snorkeling alone very unsafe and not satisfactory service at all. 3. When I came back in I sat down and dried off for a while and I asked rafael if I could clean my mask with fresh water and he showed me the tubing with freshwater. Before I got a chance to clean it I had to go to the toilet I was damp but not wet and when I walked over there the captain had come back and said I could not use the bathroom if I was wet. I said I am damp and I really have to go it is a bowl movement. He rduely said "thats is not allowed" but I went there anyway thinking how rude and just stupid that a guest cannot use the bathroom if damp and even if wet if they really had to go. I came out again and went over to clean my 100 $ mask so it would be lasting longer for years to enjoy and sicne there was fresh water and i had been told by rafael I could use it't but the captain rudely said as if I was a fresh water thief "what are you doing? You can't use that water" I said I need to clean my mask he said use the bathroom. Rafael in the back ground said "i told her she could use it" it was nice of him to help me out since tha captain was just really rude about it. So I went in the bathroom but realized it was salt water so the captain really messed me up and i was not happy. I spilled some water from the mask on the floor and the captain said what are you doing you are not allowed to spill water. 4. I was still damp and decided to sit on my towel on the inner part of the deck for a few minutes to check my messages and the captain said *you can't sit there" I was like I am sitting on my towel and he said "no you can't sit there it is not allowed" so I went out again. I was really fuming right now with all the NOs not allowed don't do that etc. And was thinking I paid 168 dollars for this. The 2 other guests were not around while this transpired they were just Kayaking and had no idea how rudely I was treated. Rafael was actually trying to give me some proper decent service but was cut off each time by the captain. I went outside to cool off in the sun I was furious the 2 other guests returned and it was lunch time. The servings were rather small but not bad although I am on a special diet I had a few mouth fulls .4 as I said the 2 other guests had no idea about the treatment I received this was also their first catemaran boat experience' but I have been on about 30 so far around the Caribbean and cental America so I can compare and while the places on this trip were decent to go to I can't say that I enjoyed the attitude of the captain who was also beside telling me No not allowed don't do that was on his phone the whole time quite anti social instead of explaining about the area the history etc.which could have been interesting and a positive learning experience So no i can not give itn5 stars nor 4 nor 3 perhaps 2 because of Rafael trying to be kind but the trip in itself just left me with NO NOT ALLOWED DONT DONTHAT it was really not good and very trying on me and I am not happy about it

They cannot leave essential boat duties or other guests unattended to provide private guidance to one individual. All guests deserve to be monitored and receive fair service throughout the trip. We swam in a beautiful secluded lagoon, enjoyed lunch cooked on the catamaran and spent some time at the island doing some swimming, paddle boarding & soaking up the sun. Definitely worth the spend. This was a great tour, the boat owners were very friendly, lunch was delicious, and the weather was beautiful. The mangroves were truly something special to see. I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Panama. In my opinion, better than San Blas!

The crew and captain on this excursion were absolutely amazing — kind, skilled, and clearly passionate about what they do. Jenny, the coordinator, also seemed wonderful and helpful during the booking process. That said, we unfortunately had a disappointing experience due to the weather. There were active thunderstorms in the area, and when I reached out to Jenny with concerns, I was told this was “normal for the rainy season” and not a problem. However, when we arrived, visibility was very poor, and we noticed we were one of the only boats out on the water — which immediately felt like a red flag. The stormy conditions made the experience feel unsafe at times, and we couldn’t really enjoy the views or water activities. While I completely understand that weather is out of anyone’s control, I do feel strongly that we should have been offered the option to reschedule for another day with safer, clearer conditions — especially given the no-refund policy, which made us feel stuck. If the weather had cooperated, this could have been a 5-star experience thanks to the incredible crew. I would just caution others to ask clearly about the weather policy before booking and consider scheduling this earlier in your trip in case it needs to be moved.

The overall experience was a good would, and I would recommend as an option to see the Caribbean coast of Panama. The driver was on time, and got us to where the boat met us in a timely manner. It is a long drive though! We stopped half way at a market which had a good bathroom and was a great option for snacks - it’s a long day so I would recommend having snacks because by the time lunch comes around you’ll be hungry. Lunch was good especially considering we were on a boat. It does take a long time to get out to where you make your first stop, and it can be bumpy so bring medicine if you get sea sick. We felt very safe with the transport both on the boat and the drive out. All in all, it’s a long day, they offer a lot, and it’s a good way to see the Caribbean coast if you want to just stay in Panama City for your stay

I would recommend this 100%. We had beautiful day on a catamaran, such blue blue water! Saw so many fish while we were snorkeling! The food that was made for us was delicious. I can't saw enough good things about the day we had.

From start to finish, Jenny and the rest of the team were outstanding. Our driver was early navigated the messy carnaval traffic returning back to our hotel! Please book this, you won’t regret it. The views are beautiful, nice people and very professional. Lunch is included but you may want to bring snacks since it’s 7-4:30 (pickup/drop off).

A fantastic day trip on board Jennys catamaran captained by David Juan ! Collected by minibus in Panama City by a top class bloke called Harris who was an absolute gent ! Travelled across the country to Portobello and had a great chat with Jenny who is a wonderful person who has worked hard and achieved a fantastic life which she clearly Loves ! Everything went so well ! Had a beautiful lunch cooked by Jenny , snorkelled around the corals and had swimming along the mangroves and moored up in a little beach where we could swim and snorkel around the corals ! A credit to Jenny and David Juan ! I had my father of 83 years with me and a very safe and wonderful memory with all aboard ! Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of doing the trip ! The hole experience was a 10.They came pick me up at my hotel and let me stop at the grocery store to get anything i wanted.The drive was smooth around 1h30.The cruise and the snorkling was great.The food was tasty and the staff very friendly.I will definetly come back experience it again.

It was an excellent day with friendly and amazing crew and driver - from pick up to drop off. We were lucky that we were the only 2 guest on the day of our excursion, making it a charter experience. The lunch was amazing and had paddle boarding and kayak on board.
