What are people saying about Normandy

Excellent tour for small...
Excellent tour for small groups. I brought my 15 and 17 year olds along for the tour and was very thankful that Paul was engaging and humorous. Paul is very knowledgeable and does an amazing job explaining the stories behind the sites. The tour is thoughtfully organized and you are given ample time at the American Cemetery to wander and in St. Mere Eglise for lunch. Paul also has excellent lunch recommendations. Thankful he is a foodie like me. My sons enjoyed the tour as well and learned so much from Paul. Excellent day.

Truly a once in a lifetime experience for my dad and me
Holy smokes this was awesome!! Theo did a truly PHENOMENAL job being our guide. He is very knowledgeable and could answer every question my dad and I asked. Theo is also very personable which made for super easy and fun conversations. This trip and Theo made my time in France with my dad, honestly, one of the best times of our lives. I cannot recommend this experience enough.

Powerful and Educational
The D-Day tour was powerful and educational. Adrienne was an excellent guide. As a native of Bayeux he possessed knowledge not only of the places that all tourists visited but also hidden gems where we were the only visitors present. He shared details of the invasion strategies and stories of individual soldiers who displayed courage in the face of insurmountable odds. Highly recommended!

The Past- WWll
I learned more on this trip that I learned in school. The guide Moana was superb. Extensive background information for each of the places visited was shared by the guide. Pictures maps and charts as a part of the background information were well placed throughout the tour. Once at a location, there was sufficient time for exploration of the site/location. Stories as to why things were the way they were made the trip more meaningful.

Outstanding Tour
We consider ourselves really blessed to have chosen Neptune Battle Tours for our visit to Normandy. Our guide was "Boy". (He is also the owner of Neptune Tours!!)
Boy was phenomenal! I couldn't imagine a more professional, flexible, or knowledgeable guide for our visit to Normandy.
We (my wife and I) started the day by getting off our train from Paris in the wrong town!! (Caen instead of Bayeux!!) Boy didn't hesitate at all. Once we realized why we couldn't find each other outside the Bayeux train station, he was immediately back on the road, headed to Caen to find his lost clients! No recriminations, no smirking, just polite and efficient flexibility to make things feel seamless to us.
Some skills and traits that Boy has that we felt at EVERY stop on the day:
Knowledgeable - Boy knows the Normandy Campaign. Not just D-Day...but the Normandy Campaign. He opened our own perspectives to understand a much larger picture than we had when starting the day.
Personal Knowledge - Boy has met people. Veterans of D-Day. Veterans of the Campaign. Historians. Family members. Foundation leaders. His gentle manner and genuine interest has helped him to accumulate a TON of information, background, personal anecdotes, and different perspectives on the history all around you in that area.
Manner - Boy shares his wealth of knowledge without ever appearing to lecture or seem to be reading any type of script or check-list. He truly shares what he knows in a way that makes what could be an overwhelming flow of info become a series of personal observations about what we were seeing.
Pleasant - Boy is just a nice guy! He never forced conversation, or allowed awkward silences. It was just a fun day with someone we felt we could call "friend" by the time we said good-bye at the train station. (On time, and at the correct station!!!) It was our very first private tour, 1-on-1 with a guide. We were a bit nervous and wondering about spending a day with a stranger. Well, that "stranger" thing stopped about 5 minutes after he picked us up. And it never felt forced.
We felt all of those skills throughout the very full, but unhurried, day. I understand why his reviews are all so positive.
We strongly recommend planning your trip to the D-Day beaches so that you can engage Boy for a day.

Would do this Tour Again!!!
A MUST-SEE while in Paris. This tour was Fantastic! Our guide was very knowledgeable and upbeat, pointing out all of the sites to see in Paris. The story he shared about the history of the Eiffel Tower was something we’ll remember forever! Loved this tour! Would do it again!

Excellent Tour with a Canadian Perspective
Great tour of the Canadian WW2 landing sites in Normandy. Our guide Stefan was very knowledgeable and thorough, arrived on time, the lunch spot he chose was excellent, vehicle was great — he answered all of our questions and provided albums of photos with many interesting details about the Allied Landing from June 6th 1944 on to the end of the war. We visited a number of sites including the Juno Center and bunkers, Gold Beach, Abbaye d’Ardenne, Commonwealth Canadian Cemetery. Highly recommend this excursion to those especially interested in the incredible efforts and sacrifice of the Canadian soldiers of WW2.

DDay remembered thanks to a wonderful guide
What a great experience with the help of our guide Lucy. From pickup to drop off nothing was missed and in a challenging overly busy period we met our objective of getting to each site for experience that I was looking for. Our guide was informative, pleasant, and really took care to make sure each member of the group was able to enjoy all of the locations we wanted to see and come away with a great memory. What made it impactful is the guide truly cared for each person and saw we were not lost in all the busy activities which brings perhaps the most people to DDay celebration in Normandie. Highly recommend the company and the guide and to do the tour b if you want to avoid crowds choose a day other than June 6. But we managed well. Bring attire for the weather as we experienced three seasons in one day. Thank you Lucy

Enjoying Hanfleur, even in the rain!
If you’ve already gone or simply have no interest in going to Normandy, this is the trip for you! Although Deauville was lovely and worth the trip/stop, it was Honfleur that stole the show. It was both charming and beautiful not to mention a history/culture worth hearing. Indulging in a glass of rose’, a plate of delectable cheeses and fresh roles was a perfect afternoon snack at a sidewalk cafe. And we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Laurence was fantastic! He was extremely informative and had a great sense of humor. If the rain had held off just a bit longer, it would have been an absolutely perfect day!

Be prepared. It is a...
Be prepared. It is a steady upward climb toward the top. But well worth the effort. We loved this tour. We learned so much of the history of Mont St Michel. It was a very hot day and lots of people but we could still enjoy the tour. Walking back to visitor center (our choice) was a hot 45 minute ordeal but it was good to see the abbey from the road.

British Normandy Beaches Tour
We were collected at Bayeux train station by Emanuel and were lucky enough to be the only people on the tour. As we were talking about history in the minibus, Emanuel made an extra stop and showed us where William the Conquerer was buried. We then continued to the Pegasus bridge and museum and it was completely up to us how long we stayed there.
We visited the war burial sites and the landing beach. Emanuel had photos to show us and lots of knowledge and we all had an enjoyable afternoon. We also asked to be dropped back into the centre of Bayeux so we could have a look around, which he was happy to do - great service and excellent English

D Day Omaha Beach Tour
We booked the Omaha Tour for 20th Sept 2025. Pascal our guide from the company Ophorus was outstanding.
His knowledge is excellent and passes this on in a very interesting and friendly manner with some humour thrown in.. We were a family of four from the UK. It was a pleasure to meet Pascal and recommend this tour to anyone thinking of doing this tour.
Stephen, Lynne, Bobby and Debs.

Not seeing something you are looking for?
World War II history, UNESCO-listed monuments, Belle Epoque beach resorts, and medieval cities: Normandy has it all, and you’ll only scratch the surface of what this region offers on Normandy day trips. With just one day, focus your explorations on a particular area or sight, whether visiting France’s most famous island monastery, following the path of Allied soldiers at the D-Day beaches, or hopping between the picturesque coastal towns of the North. Normandy is close enough to Paris to be a day-trip destination, but you’ll be able to see even more if you start from Bayeux or Le Havre.
