Scenic World offers four main attractions and experiences: Scenic Skyway, the largest aerial cable car in the Southern Hemisphere; Scenic Cableway, which descends into Jamison Valley; Scenic Walkway, a boardwalk through the rainforest in Jamison Valley; and Scenic Railway, the steepest passenger railway in the world.

Q: How do I get to Scenic World from Sydney or other nearby areas?

You can drive from Sydney by taking the M4 and Great Western Highway to Scenic World. By train, take the Blue Mountains Line from Central Station to Katoomba Station, then a taxi, the Blue Mountains Explorer Bus, or public bus routes 686 and 686G. Tours from Sydney are also available.

Q: Are there any age or height restrictions for the rides at Scenic World?

There are no height or age restrictions for any attraction at Scenic World. Infants and small children must be held by guardians on the Scenic Railway, Scenic Skyway, and Scenic Cableway as there are no baby seats. Strollers and prams are not permitted on the Scenic Railway. Stroller access is limited on the Scenic Walkway.

Q: Can you buy tickets in advance for Scenic World?

Yes, you can buy tickets in advance for Scenic World. In fact, advanced online booking is essential over the busy summer period, school holidays, and public holidays, as tickets often sell out in advance. A variety of different passes are available, though they are all timed-entry tickets.

Q: Is Scenic World wheelchair accessible?

Both the Scenic Skyway and Scenic Cableway are wheelchair accessible. The 1,6,40-foot (500-meter) stretch of the Scenic Walkway between the bases of the Scenic Cableway and the Scenic Railway is also wheelchair accessible. However, the Scenic Railway is not wheelchair accessible. The Main Building is wheelchair accessible and offers accessible toilets and parking.

Q: Are there any dining options available at Scenic World or nearby?

Yes, Scenic World offers two dining options: the EATS270 Restaurant, which has a lunch menu, kids’ meals, and beverages, including alcoholic drinks; and the Terrace Café and Bar, with an all-day snack menu and beverages, including alcoholic drinks. You can visit both venues without a ticket to Scenic World.

Fantastic experience

Our tour guide Max was fantastic. All the excursions were brilliant. He gave fantastic recommendations particulary at the lunch stop and the order to complete the Scenic World which meant we can maximise our visit. Featherdale was a huge highlight, recommend paying for kangaroo feed and a photo with the koala. Would have loved to spend a bit longer there as there as so many incredible animals to see. Would 100% recommend this tour to anyone.

Awesome Blue Mountains experience

This was an awesome tour. Steve was an excellent guide, and we had a clean well maintained vehicle. Lots of places for bathroom breaks as well. The Blue Mountains , cascades, lunch, zoo experiences with Steve’s knowledge about the area made it even more interesting. This was well worth the money!

Shane about the support getting back

Barry was lovely and guided us around the area well. The coach was clean and comfortable. Some of the walking routes were closed off which limited the experience. What stops me giving a better review and recommending to others is the drop off at Olympic park, where we waiting nearly an hour for the ferry, to then get on a ferry which stopped at 6 stops before getting to circular quay. Not the boat trip down the river I had expected.

Best tour so far

This is my best tour so far. It was so much fun! Lloyd was an excellent guide. He is very knowledgeable about all the attractions and gave us so many fun facts all through the tour. The bus was very clean and he exercised a lot of patience. He interacted with all the passengers by name and made the tour so much fun for everyone. Kudos to you Lloyd for representing your company well.

Blue Mountain Excursion

We had a fantastic day, even though Mother Nature wasn't cooperating in the morning and early afternoon. Mark did an excellent job juggling the various elements at Scenic World so we could potentially see everything through the light rain and as the fog would appear and then lift. He was very informative and gave great advice on places to go afterward within the city. We had an excellent dinner and drink at the Shangri-La Hotel.

Bus, trains, ferry and cable cars in one day

Excellent tour. Great views seeing the forest and the very old trees. Dinosaurs for the kids was good. That almost vertical train was phenomenal. Well organized tour. Clean bus. Lots of food choices. The ferry rid back also good We did the walking tour inside the opera house also - this is a must do also.

Facilities at Scenic World include car parking, a restaurant, café, and gift shop.
Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, especially if you plan on bushwalking, and bring sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water.
The Cableway and Skyway are both wheelchair accessible, as is part of the Scenic Walkway. Due to the steep grade traveled by the Scenic Railway, it is not recommended for travelers with disabilities.
