Wonderful day spent enjoying the incredible beauty of the national park with a fun visit to the Featherdale Wildlife Refuge. Our guides, Chris and Miz, were outstanding! The hike through the park wasn't too challenging and offered amazing views of waterfalls, rock formations, the lush vegetation and those beautiful white Cockatoos! Perfect amount of time for a great lunch in Leura. A perfect day!

Pick up went like clockwork and was right on time. Our excellent guide, Jeff, was very flexible about the order of our stops so that we would have the best possible conditions for viewing and the least amount of crowding. His commentary on the history of the park and plant life was interesting and informative. Blue Mountains National Park is simply stunning. I highly recommend this tour.

Itinerary

When in Sydney, be sure to take time to visit Blue Mountains National Park, a national treasure located about two hours from the city by car. Travel in comfort aboard a deluxe air-conditioned bus with a stop for morning tea in Wentworth Falls, a quaint town near the national park.

After light refreshments, continue to Echo Point for excellent views of the Three Sisters, an impressive rock formation with a fascinating legend behind it.

As you travel through the Blue Mountains, your guide takes you to lookout points, waterfalls, swathes of rainforest and Jamison Valley where you can get excellent photo ops and take short nature walks that let you experience this stunning terrain up close. You’ll also hear about the history and legends of the region as you stop at key locales.

Wander through a quaint mountain village at Katoomba, Leura or Blackheath at lunchtime, and explore some of the local shops and galleries.

On the way back to Sydney, your group stops at Featherdale Wildlife Park, located on the outskirts of the metropolitan area. As many as 2,000 native Australian critters live at Featherdale in enclosures that mimic their natural habitat. Admire exhibits with saltwater crocodiles, wallabies, wombats, bats, reptiles and emus.

If you are travelling to Sydney this excursion is a must. You begin at the wildlife park which is amazing. Feeding kangaroos and wallabies and seeing Australian wildlife up close is a memory we will never forget. The views of the blue mountains are spectacular. Our guide, John, was very knowledgeable and passionate about the land.

Absolutely fantastic trip, all thanks to expert guide Jason: he knew all the tips and tricks, such as to get to places early so they weren’t crowded, and as a result our whole day - which was Easter Sunday, a national holiday! - was unhurried and thus delightful.

Very thorough and informative. The only thing was we were unable to hear the guide in the bus. We had to sit in the back cause we were the last ones picked up and the intercom wasn’t loud enough to understand what he w as saying. I would recommend this tour to others .

The hike to the waterfall...

The hike to the waterfall is a very strenuous hike both up and down. The sights are spectacular. Our tour guide Chris was awesome he gave us some great history lessons of what we were seeing all along the drive. The wide life sanctuary was so much fun. Being able to feed the wallabies and pet a koala was a dream come w.

Chris was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable about the area and was able to share some dream stories about different regions + the history of many statues or memorials as we went along. The time at the different stops felt sufficient, did not feel rushed or tapping fingers to get going. Overall a great time!

Great trip into the Blue mountains

This was a full day trip, beginning at 7.20 and ending at 17.10 for us. The driving was smooth throughout..we were taken to Featherdale Wildlife park first. This was a joy as all the animals and birds were obviously well cared for and seemed content to have tourists peering into their world. Next we pushed on to Wentworth Falls for a bush walk. Thus was stunningly beautiful and it was great to properly exercise. If you do this trip take plenty of water and take the stairs at a sensible pace. We stopped in leura for lunch (our expense). It was very busy but worth waiting for a table. On the return trip we stopped to see the 3 sisters at Katoomba and then Boar’s Head and Cahill lookouts. Chris, our driver, was pleasant and informative the whole time .

An enjoyable and interesting day trip. Our guide, Ben was very informative and a great advocate for Sydney, the Blue Mountains and travel in Australia generally. Providing many interesting stories and helpful suggestions for the day and other trips. The Blue Mountains were a good value day trip with many spectacular viewpoints. The lunch spot was also an interesting little town. We could have enjoyed more time there. The Featherdale Wildlife Park is more of zoo than a wildlife park, but it was interesting to see some of the indigenous animals, including Kangaroos and Koalas.

Wentworth falls was unbelievable experience! But is strenuous and can be tough during heat and bad weather conditions. Stuart really was sympathetic to my 67 year old wife and slowed down for her. Great guide

The walk down into the valley at Wentworth Falls and back again can be quite strenuous but is worth it - you definitely need to be prepared for some stairs and pace yourself!

It was a wonderful experience. Jason is an excellent tour guide — he gave us a lot of information and has a great, cheerful spirit. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t good, but he did his best to take us to places that suited the conditions. Thank you, Jason. My advice to everyone: make sure to check the weather forecast, and if possible, change your booking if bad weather is expected, because you won’t be able to see much in foggy conditions — especially the mountains in the Blue Mountains.

It is a good idea to check the weather forecasts, but check out Katoomba and not Sydney, because the weather in the mountains is usually quite different to that in the centre of Sydney, and can vary a lot throughout the day. Our experienced guides know many different places to visit and work hard to make the most of the opportunities. Tours can be cancelled or dates changed more than 24 hours prior to departure, if guests have a few extra days available in Sydney. We'd love to see you again!
