Top Netherlands Day Trips

I highly recommend this trip outside of Amsterdam, particularly with our guide Simon who made the tour unforgettable! Leading up to the tour and on the day of, Simon was very timely and communicative making the entire experience from start to finish seamless. This is a small group tour which I highly recommend - the experience is much more intimate and attentive. On this tour, you'll visit historic windmills and fun cheese/clog-making demonstrations in Zaanse Schans very close to the city. The area is a popular tourist attraction so expect some crowds, but it is understandable why once you see it. Next, we visited Giethoorn which was incredibly beautiful and idyllic. The drive from Zaanse Schans to Giethoorn is about 1.5 hours, but it felt like a blink of an eye thanks to Simon's safe and smooth driving that made me fall asleep like a baby. Once there, we got to enjoy a beautiful canal boat ride and see the historic houses up close. The weather is very unpredictable here, so be flexible about your schedule and have a good attitude about the rain. The village almost looks even prettier when it rains! Nothing a raincoat and an umbrella can't handle. After some free time to walk around the village, we headed back for Amsterdam and got to hear more stories from Simon. On top of his knowledge about the culture and history of the area, his personal stories were also incredibly fun. I can say for certain this was the highlight of my trip to the Netherlands!

This tour was fantastic! Keukenhof gardens was gorgeous! so much color!! We had a beautiful day and this was the perfect place to be outside and walking around the gardens! The playground was perfect for the little kids! and then off to Zaanse Schans Windmills which were amazing to see and so picturesque! Santiago was a wonderful tour guide and took good care of us. We were very happy we went on this beautiful and interesting tour.

We had a fantastic day trip, everything was really well organized, and the experience felt seamless from start to finish. Our tour operator, Koen, was excellent. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire day enjoyable with his insights and easygoing style. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and it made a big difference in the overall experience. Transportation was smooth and comfortable, and the itinerary was well-paced so we never felt rushed but still got to see a lot. Each stop had its own charm, and it was a great way to experience areas outside of Amsterdam. Highly recommend this tour.

This was a wonderful experience! The bus was comfortable and our guide Claudia was organized and informative. Then our walking guide in Bruges was also very knowledgeable and also entertaining. He also did a really nice job of keeping track of everyone in the group and waiting to talk until everyone could hear him. It is a full day trip from Amsterdam, so be prepared for the time. But we felt it was worth it.

It was the greatest day. Our guidebooks clearly with a microtone presented the history of the country and people in a clear memorable manner. Each stop was well planned and represented the past and present. Excellent bus driver. We loved our trip it was the best mo ey we spent!

This was such a great way to see the historic windmills, the countryside, small towns and visit a cheese factory and clog making demonstration in a private schedule. Totally stress free and our guide Teun was friendly, knowledgeable, good driver and flexible with our time as we were running a bit late. Such a great way to experience some of the most touristic sights without being coralled in a big bus. Very satisfied and would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a private experience.

This personal connection transformed the historical account from a simple story into a deeply moving and relatable human experience. The tour also provided a powerful moment of reflection, showing what the one's destiny could have been if they hadn't made certain choices, while also paying solemn respects to those who were not as fortunate in their circumstances or fate. What began as a simple online booking evolved into a pivotal moment of reflection on the past and present, not just as an individual but also for our entire small group. They took us to two quaint villages, one was on the water. Both were beautiful!!! So glad I got out of the city, saw the villages and learned about traditions, and saw how things were made. I wish we had more time everywhere because we didn’t want to leave. Great choice for a few hours if you are in Amsterdam.
