This day tour takes you in the morning to Zaanse Schans. When you arrive this village, we will take you to a Dutch cheese factory to try all different Dutch 'Gouda' Cheeses and a wooden shoe factory to see clog making. After that you will travel to Giethoorn, you will discover this 'Green Venice' of Holland and enjoy typical Dutch local lunch and one hour boat cruise in Giethoorn. Zeeland Flanders, South-Beveland and Walcheren had to be taken by the Allies to be able to use the Port of Antwerp. It took a lot of ingenuity and hard fighting to overcome the strong German defenses here. We also pay a visit to the new Liberation Museum Zeeland. Besides some interesting military historic sites you will see a lot of the typical Zeeland countryside. Hardly recovered from the World War 2 damage and loss of life Zeeland was hit again in February 1953 by a big flood. We will return over some of the Delta Works.
