What are people saying about Louisiana

Good price- saved us some dollars!!
Viator saved us over $40 on a family of 4 adults and 2 small children. We spent about 2.5 hrs touring the aquarium and insectarium. Pictures are taken as you enter, but can be purchased after the Insectarium with "bugs" background or after the aquarium with fish and sharks background. Pictures are $30. We enjoyed ourselves immensely!!

great guide, great ride
it was so cool to experience the swamp and see the wildlife in it. Our guide Jason was clearly very knowledgeable and felt VERY comfortable navigating the environment. He was an ace at parallel parking the boat, and also knew the place like the back of his hand. He was telling us about the local alligators like they were truly his neighbors, he could identify them by small markings I could barely catch, and he noted to us their usual habits and territories and interactions. Not only was he a great resource on the gators, he also was pointed out bird nests and calls to us and did his best to help us find them as well. I thought it was a good length of time as well. and while they talked about how they used to do this, they NO LONGER feed the gators marshmallows, which is good!! (though he had very funny stories about it.)

Absolutely worth the ride!
Wow! So much learning on this ride! It was so great to hear all about local history. Our guide was very knowledgable about the area and was so sweet with our mule, Beignet! The ride was on time and the seats were comfortable. Our guide stopped frequently to make sure everyone saw what he was talking about and encouraged questions!

Do It for the Culture!!
This was a truly informative, enriching, and deeply meaningful tour. Jay was an excellent tour guide who did far more than simply share facts about New Orleans. He was able to bring the city’s history and culture to life by weaving together the story of New Orleans through the lens of the Black experience. I especially appreciated the way he emphasized the origins of the city’s unique culture and traditions, while also honoring the strength, perseverance, and resilience of the people who helped shape New Orleans into the place it is today.
The tour provided a deeper understanding of the history behind the culture, traditions, music, and communities that make New Orleans so distinctive. Jay’s storytelling offered an important perspective that is often overlooked, allowing us to better appreciate not only where New Orleans came from, but also the people whose contributions, struggles, and resilience are woven into the fabric of the city.
This is an excellent must-do experience for anyone who wants to move beyond the typical tourist attractions and gain a more authentic understanding of the real culture, history, and people of New Orleans. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the city with greater depth, context, and appreciation.

Bayou tour on Monday, 7/6/26 for the McCulloughs
Rickey and Ben are very knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. Rickey had much interesting information during our bus rides to and from and Ben was very professional and expresses in his conversations that he loves the Bayou and his job. Office tracked us down to change or tour time which was much appreciated.

J is an amazing tour guide!
I took this tour with my daughter on my 50th birthday and J was an amazing tour guide with a wealth of knowledge about the history of New Orleans Witchcraft, Voodoo, & Ghosts.
She has a way of pulling you into her tour as if you are there during those specific time periods.
Her energy and enthusiasm was by far above any other tour guide I have had the pleasure of meeting!
She is the reason I will be taking this tour again when we return!
Her passion for the history is infectious and left me wanting to know more!
I cannot recommend this tour with J enough!
Book it and book it now!
P.S. Tip her and TIP HER WELL!! She is DEFINITELY worth it!

High-quality tour with small boat access for more bespoke feel
Great Tour with professional pickup right at my hotel front and drop off. Lorraine was a very enthusiastic driver to the bayou and she gave us local insights along the way. She really seems to care about her job and the people she meets. This company has the option for small airboat tours of only 9 people on a boat and I highly recommend using the small boat option. It may be slightly more expensive, but it’s more intimate and tailored to the group you’re with plus you get to maneuver into smaller areas versus the larger boats in overall it’s just more bespoke can’t say enough about Captain Ernie not only was he very knowledgeable about the Bayou. He gave us local insights that only somebody with 10 generations on the swamp could give you in some real world facts about what’s happening to the destruction of the wetland that really make you think over the hour and a half. I was on the swamp. I saw at least two dozen gators on top of local birds and all sorts of other wildlife. The best part of the whole trip was going to the original Cypress Bayou, and seeing the stark difference between what it was and what it has become overall I felt like this was a worthwhile morning for my trip to New Orleans with equal parts, excitement learnings, and overall local flare. I would recommend this to anybody, especially a solar traveler like myself who wants to attack on something interesting to a work trip.

Great cooking class
We really enjoyed this class. This is a full hands on class where you cook all the food, although it is pre-portioned and organised for you. This contrasts with the demonstration class which I have done before, where you watch the chef cook.
We had Chef Lynne as our instructor who was wonderful. She explained everything clearly and constantly helped all the class members. Our menu was chicken & sausage gumbo, shrimp & grits, and bananas foster crepes. This included making a roux for the gumbo and flambé for the banana foster which was fun! I recommend this class and would do it again (worth a different menu) the next time I’m in NOLA.

Maybe good to have food offered on board
Great tour, the ride was surprisingly nice! It’s smaller but we like it! The additional tour to the landmarks was a good added bonus. Too bad not enough time to check out the cemetery though . The narrator has a great radio voice and good narrative . So overall , it’s a nice relaxing day enjoying the sun and the Mississippi River!
