You will hike around 8km in this trip and visit Lake Ashi, the Hachiri heritage path, Yamanaka Castle Ruins, Genbe River. The transportation between the sites is either on foot or by local bus. The guide will give you background of this historical part of Japan. You will traverse the Hakone Mountain like Edo period travellers and see Mt Fuji from different angles while you walk if weather permits. Hakone Hachiri is a Japan Heritage where you can experience how people traveled during Edo period (17th century). It is a part of the Old Tokaido Highway including the steep slope of Hakone mountains. Our Hakone Hachiri tour starts from Hakone Yumoto. We hike and take the bus to visit Amasake Tea House and walk on the cobble stone path to Lake Ashi where we will see the lake, Mt Fuji and the Torii gate of Hakone Shrine. After lunch near the Hakone Checkpoint, we take a bus to skip the temporally closed part and then resume the walk towards Mishima. Mishima Station is our ending point.

Prepare to experience Old Japan on foot with this exciting hike through traditional post towns, ancient forests, and dramatic mountain passes. Starting in Tsumago-juku post town, your guide will explain a bit about what kinds of people traveled the roads in Old Japan, where they were going, and how they lived. You will get a chance to enter some buildings including an old Inn and a horse-stable that perfectly illustrate what your guide has mentioned. Leaving Tsumago-juku post town, you will start out on an 8km trek to the next post town, passing by roaring waterfalls and quiet hamlets along the way. Keep an eye open for wildlife and wildflowers while you are led by your guide along what was once one of the main avenues of travel in Japan. Arriving at Magome-juku post town, you will be treated to far off views of fields and mountains as you descend to the bottom of this very vertical village. The jungle atmosphere, mini waterfalls, and the chance to stop and swim at the foot of a stunning waterfall make this adventure an unforgettable experience. With the Yanbaru region's lush foliage and tranquil surroundings, the jungle trek offers an unparalleled opportunity to immerse yourself in nature and rejuvenate with the Japanese pastime of forest bathing. Private and customisable; suitable for most ages and abilities, the trek can vary from a gentle dry path stroll to a waterfall for tea and relaxation, to a more challenging, extended walk, navigating the shallow riverbed and its rocks and boulders. The difficulty is directly related to your ability on the day. The jungle adventure stands out for its exciting journey following a river in Yambaru. Yanbaru's meaning is 'fields and mountains' and refers to the northern and greener part of Okinawa's main island; the region is home to a diverse range of species, many of which are endemic to the area.
