A Great Time
This is a great experience. Every part of the tour was well coordinated, safe, plenty of time to do each of the activities.
The zip lines were great. The staff really explained things very well and you could see that safety was a main priority. The interactiveness with the crew was perfect. Not too much, but not to little. Having them use my phone to video what the zip line section was, really helped us re-live the experience at the end of the day.
The animal portion of the excursion was great. Very informative. The interaction with the animals was not something I expected. The different areas of the tour were great. Loved seeing the different butterflies. The interactions with the primates were wonderful. The guide was very patient with our grandsons, ages 6 & 8.
Our guide/driver for the whole adventure was Logan. What a wonderful man. He made sure that everything went smoothly and that we had plenty of time at each stop. During our drives to the different areas of the excursion, Logan was a wealth of information.
In my opinion the best part of the package was the off-road experience. Usually the photos in the trip guides never live up to what you actually get to experience. This portion of the trip was incredible. The dune buggies were a BLAST. The vehicles were very safe and stable. You got good instruction prior to going out on the trail. These buggies were fast. Usually you expect them to be slowed way down, not here. You could really drive and experience what they could do.
A word of advice, bring a change of clothes and shoes. The bogs were very muddy and there was a great splash factor. Very Fun. That was one of the best parts was going in to the mud at a good pace and splashing dirt and mud everywhere. Loved it.
There is a place to wash off after the ride. While it got the mud off, a second pair of dry shoes is a must.
The time we got to drive the off-road course was a good long time. It wasn't five minutes and you are done. No, it was a great long time to operate the dune buggies. Definitely got our money's worth.
The last stop was at a local resort. Absolutely beautiful. Great facilities. The food was delicious. The pools were amazing. The beach area was a great place to relax or go out on the different inflatables and climb all over the different bouncers, etc.
We got back to the ship in plenty of time.
BEST EXCURSION OF OUR CRUISE.
Our family gives this experience 5 stars.

Having a blast around Roatan with Joe Black
We had an amazing time on this tour! Our guide, Joe Black, was outstanding from start to finish. He was friendly, knowledgeable, organized, and made sure everyone felt safe while having a great time.
The itinerary was perfect—we started with a visit to a wildlife animal sanctuary where we got to see and learn about some incredible animals. Next, we had an absolute blast riding dune buggies through exciting trails, which was definitely a highlight of the day. To top it all off, we relaxed at a beautiful private beach resort, the perfect way to end an unforgettable adventure.
Joe made the entire experience fun, smooth, and memorable. If you’re looking for a tour that combines wildlife, adventure, and relaxation all in one day, this is the one to book. Highly recommend Joe Black and this tour—we would definitely do it again!

Awesome Experience
We were picked up by our driver, Norma, who was local to the area and pointed out a lot of interesting things on our way. We traveled about 25 minutes in a newer Toyota minivan, which was much nicer than I had anticipated. The day started with the monkey and sloth sanctuary. The staff was very informative and knowledgeable, and our daughters (11 & 14) loved it, especially the monkeys. There were several food stands at the sanctuary, and we had probably the best smoothie we've ever had. We then traveled about 20 minutes with our same driver and van for snorkeling. The snorkeling equipment was all in good condition, and they had all of the different sizes that we needed from child to larger adult. It took 15-20 minutes in the boat to make it to the reef, which was a beautiful ride. Both our snorkeling guide and boat captain were very kind and interacted well with the adults as well as the kids on board. The snorkeling experience was absolutely beautiful. We were dropped by the boat, and basically drifted with the current for over an hour. It was great because we were able to see different areas, without the need to swim around if we didn't feel like it. The boat remained nearby in case anyone wanted a break or drink, etc. My whole family loved the snorkeling, and it was the favorite part of our 7 day cruise for my older daughter. Overall I would definitely recommend this trip. And we were back our port with plenty of time to spare.

AMAZING!!! Jessica was incredible!
AMAZING!!!! Jessica was incredible! She picked us up right outside the port and gave us tons of history and information as she drove us around. The animal sanctuary was so much fun. The monkeys will jump all around you and on you and they're so cute. The sloth posed for selfies and even smiled. The birds were fun to hold as well. Then Jessica took us to the chocolate factory where we saw how the chocolate was made and tasted delicious chocolate. We had plenty of time to shop and not stress about time. After we were finished Jessica took us to the rum factory where we sampled tons of rum and rum cake. We bought drinks at their bar and also went onto the back deck and took AMAZING photos. Jessica drove us over to West End and even went and bought my kids banana soda, bananas, and lychees. We also stopped at the iconic ROATAN sign. She was the best tour guide and we fully enjoyed this excursion. I was nervous to book off-ship, but we were so pleasantly surprised and had such an amazing time. My brother-in-law was using a motorized scooter which did prove to be a bit of a challenge at the animal sanctuary as you need to go up a few stairs and a steep incline. The park attendees were so gracious and happy to help make all of us comfortable and able to participate.

Viaje a Roatan
Although it was a little confusing at first to find our agent or guide, since there are so many vendors trying to offer tours when you go down to the port, once we found him, we were assigned to Mario Santos. From the moment we got into his van, he greeted us with a refreshing bottle of water and provided excellent service. He was always very kind and an excellent host. His company was also very attentive to the schedule so that we wouldn't miss the boat.
Very happy, excellent service.

Book this excursion, and book with Viator!!
Our family has taken several cruises together, but to ports that were right where you were happy laying down a beach towel for the day, shopping etc., so no excursions necessary. This year we did some research and decided to book an excursion in Roatan, Honduras; we wanted to see the local lifestyle, meet people who lived there, eat truly local food and drinks and experience the less-"touristy" side of things, yet also have time at the beach for our first day off the ship. I took 4-6mos off and on researching, reading thousands of reviews, bouncing between COSTCO excursions, CARNIVAL excursions... and I kept seeing VIATOR come up, through travelocity with rave reviews for the Roatan excursions. Finally two weeks before our trip, I contacted viator via live chat with a bunch of questions (again, we were brand new to booking an excursion!), and landed on the "beach with resort access, and city tour" with private driver. Viator was extremely good about being in touch with us, whether available on live chat, and closer to travel we even had text-contact with the booking agent who was in direct touch with our "tour operator" (driver).
We walked 6min outside the port up a small hill (the plant life is beautiful and it's a pretty walk), and there was Kenisa, our driver, waiting for us with her SUV fit for 6 passengers! We introduced ourselves and she asked, other than the beach with resort pass, what would we like out of our day...and that she would be with us the entire day (she would often sit off to the side under the shade, or just do her thing and check in), and what we wanted to do, she would do! We told her wanted local food (not "curated" restaurants and fare....we wanted local snacks, local food, try local beers, snorkeling, and to see the city and shop at NOT the port. She said "ok, then you will have about 3hrs at the beach, and then we should move on to fit everything in and get you back on time"; the entire day, she was on top of the timing of everything and we could just enjoy and relax and not worry about anything - she even spoke to the snorkeling vendor FOR us at the beach and got us a discount deal to go out for an hour!!
From there we headed down the road and stopped at a "tailgating tent" where local ladies had hot homemade food prepared, that you could choose from and make your plate - it was take-out styrofoam containers and about $20ea, but enough food for two or three people!! We had homemade jerk bbq chicken, beans and rice, we tried the iguana stew, local "spaghetti" (spicy!), potato salad, and coconut bread! We took our food and stopped next at the gas station for Kenisa to help the kids pick out the local sodas and some snacks we don't get in the US, and she helped us choose several local beers. She even slipped away and bought us a bag of homemade mangoes with vinegar, pepper, paprika, etc. that she had told us about and we had been so excited... as a gift! She took us to a dock over the water, and we ate our meal and had our drinks with the local stray dogs (so cute, but don't hand-feed them!) and then on our way to shopping.! She took us to a little "market" with several "touristy" stores, but a local stop complete with a coffee/chocolate shop, options to buy magnets and t-shirts and trinkets for half to a quarter of the cost at port (we even got a beautiful handmade mahogany box for keepsakes or jewelry), and soon enough it was time to head back to port to get back an hour before departure, per their requirements through VIATOR as a safety-net for no passengers left behind!
It is polite, to tip your tour guide/driver (however we would have anyways), although she never once brought it up the entire day or acted like she was refering to it or anything. We left her a tip and thanked her - she felt like a part of our family by the end of the day as we had shared many stories and laughs about things throughout the day.
The kids (13 and 15) absolutely loved her, loved the adventure and the uniqueness of the day and that it was JUST ours...curated to whatever we wanted out of our time there, not hustled around with 50 other people, crowded in a bus etc. and she would offer stories or information about life there, and certainly answer our questions along the way. It was personal and unforgettable!!!!

so much fun!!
Alanys and her husband were amazing! Alanys was a great tour guide giving so much information about the island of Roatan. They were super easy to locate when we got outside of the cruise pier. Step by step instructions were given and they were on point! we had so much fun with the monkeys and sloth. The rum tasting was great as well! Unfortunately, the day we went was raining and we were not able to go to the beach, but when it cleared up they brought us to the most beautiful location to see they coral and also went to a local establishment for some delicious local cuisine. Highly recommend!!!

Great snorkel/beach day
Good trip overall, the driver was easy to find and was great to talk with about the island. The weather was rainy but the snorkeling was still top notch. There were only 8 people on the boat so it was very laid back and you definitely felt like you had more than enough time to explore at each location. The guide who was in the water with us was great and snorkeling over top the ship wreck was amazing. The beach stop at Brady’s Cay was also nice, not too crowded and good beachside bar/wait staff. We were not in port for very long and the local time was an hour behind ship time, so this excursion took up the whole day. If you plan on trying to do additional sight seeing, pay attention to your ships arrival and departure times.

Definitely recommend...
Definitely recommend booking with this company. They were professional, friendly and it was like we were on our own personal tour. The monkeys were so fun and the private island beach is beautiful. Clear directions on how to find them and had us back at the exact time we wanted. Just book it!

4 Wheeler Sloth Bird Monkey Tour
This was great. 4 wheelers are what we always expect on these. You follow like a train so never get to really go. However seeing the villages and local people was nice. New laws don’t let you hold or touch the sloths. So site should reflect that. The birds and monkeys were fun and hilarious to interact with
