We had a great time with Richard. He has a great personality making the experience fun and engaging. He is a patient and experienced teacher and made everything fun and easy going while still teaching us what we were supposed to. We learnt to drum the Burundi and also to dance a local dance. Ruff Ride but Worth It

Let me start by saying Issac and Emmanuel made the journey wayyyy better than it could have been. The roads are ruff, the ride takes awhile but the experience is a MUST for anyone who yarns to feel what we’ve been through and overcaim. The days starts early so you may or may not get a chance to eat breakfast the day of so pack something light to snack on, oh and make sure you have hand sanitizer, thank me later.

Answers from our ancestors

Excellent experience all around!! First off I booked for the wrong day, forgetting to input the correct date. The tour operator and Viator were able to accommodate our request without us losing money and making sure we were rebooked for 3 weeks out and not the next day. Ben the tour operator was communicative. I was able to speak with him on WhatsApp leading up to our trip. Bernice out tour guide was so kind and helpful. Not only did she keep us informed during our excursion. She even bought us water (it was hot) and snacks out of her own pocket. As we shopped and brought souvenirs she was so attentive that she carried our bags for us. Additionally, we felt cared for as she kept the many merchants at bay as they tried to sell their goods to us; in a very forthcoming way. The driver was excellent as well getting us to and from safely; each leg of the trip being approximately 4-5 hours. Now let’s get to the tour: the tour was everything! At each tour site the guides were so informative and friendly, even taking the time to take pictures of us at our requests. We learned no much history, explored 1st hand the story of our ancestors. 5 out of 5, highly recommend.

Akwaaba! What a nice welcome to Accra!

Emmanuel did a wonderful job escorting us around his city and introducing us to the sights. We started with a nice visit to Independence Square where we heard a bit of the history of Ghana and the meaning of the Adinkra symbols – which once you see them, you see them all over Accra. A visit to the Sunday market was a fascinating and intense experience! I can only imagine going to the full market – Sunday was fine for us! We drove through Jamestown on the way to the Kwame Nkrumah park – beautiful and poignant! A last visit to the craft market allowed me to buy a wall hanging of one of those Adinkra symbols that resonated with me. So, I’ll have great memories of Accra and Ghana. Amazing

I would highly recommend this tour company in general for any tour. This was my first time in Africa and I did not know what to expect but our guide became family. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and gave us space to experience at our own pace. This particular tour was based in nature. We interacted with the locals, visited wonders of nature, and visited the Eastern region of Ghana. We also had amazing food at a local hotel. A sacred place to reflect about life

An artistic environment that made us think about the meaning of life, respects for afterlife, a harmony with natures, and empathies on those going through slavery. It's a solemn place, yet full of optimism, humanities, and humors in the art pieces. All those involved in receiving us did an excellent job. Our tour guide and driver arrived at the hotel 10 minutes prior to pickup time. They were courteous and considerate. We cannot express more how hard they tried to take us to the airport on time for our flight. The narrator in the museum was full of energy. He spoke eloquently with insights, inspiring his visitors with occasional questions to reflect on.
