I had an awesome time cooking with Auntie K. I learned so much other cooking skills than the recipes we cooked. Then when we got to eat the food, it was absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend to take this class.

I had a good experience, Aunti was really welcoming, despite her long distance trip to prepare for the course 2h, but she was there on time, all went well, frankly speaking basically I am semi vegetarian and can eat fish from time to time, she took into consideration all my restrictions, she even came out with a new olive oil bottle as I use only that, and smoked Tuna as I love Tuna. She was miticoulos, and steady. We had all ready on lunch time.
Only a remark I would have preferred having the class in a typical traditional Ghanian kitchen within all the traditional habits, spices, dishes, especially that I paid 70eur to eat some vegetables and a Carpi fish 😅,
Wish her best luck with other groups,
I do recommend her for simple quick meals.

Auntie K and the girls were so nice and the food was delicious. It took longer than expected but we did choose a lot of dishes.

My wife and I always book a cooking class when we travel and we were very happy with this option. Auntie K provides clear directions to the meeting point and walks you through the entire process of cooking your dishes. We did not request a specific dish and had Auntie K choose for us. We ended up making jollof Rice and Grilled chicken with boiled plantains and eggs, sauteed cabbage, and greens with smoked tuna. It was hands down the best jollof rice and chicken we had in Accra during our stay and the greens were my favorite out of everything. Be sure to write down the recipe as you cook so you can try to recreate at home. Auntie K was happy to answer any questions we had about the process or anything else that came to mind. You can choose to work as much as you feel like. The process is fulfilling and satisfying to participate and eat. We would recommend to anyone looking to learn how to make local Ghanian dishes at home.

What a joy it was to cook with you both! I loved watching you experience the flavors and take part in every step, from the jollof to the greens. Letting me choose the dishes made the day even more fun, and I’m so happy the meal stood out during your time in Accra. Your enthusiasm, questions, and openness made the cooking experience very special. Thank you for sharing your time and appetite with me. I hope the recipes bring back good memories when you try them again at home. Wishing you safe travels and many more delicious adventures ahead. Auntie KK

Auntie KK and her assistant were great with us! We made jollof rice, kelewele (spicy plantains), goat soup with fufu (roll those sleeves up friends because it is hard work making the fufu!), sauteed veggies and grilled chicken! Everything was delicious!
Response from Host, Apr 2025
Thank you so much Christopher for allowing us to give you and your family a proper Ghanaian cooking class. It was fun seeing you put in the works to the final product of enjoying the meals.

If you want an authentic cooking experience, you will love this class. No blender but learned to use a pestle and mortar which was amazing to blend veggies and spices. Cooked everything over a charcoal cooking stand. Learned how to regulate the heat with a hand fan. Most of all there were so many hints on the use of ginger, peppers of all heat intensity, seafood bouillon cubes, course sea salt, white pepper and other seasonings. The final meal that we prepared was beyond delicious and KK was so fun!
Response from Host, Apr 2025
Hey, thanks for the nice review! I’m so happy you liked the class—using a pestle and mortar instead of a blender is pretty cool, isn’t it? Cooking on the charcoal stand with the fan was a neat challenge. Loved showing you the tricks with ginger and spices. The meals always turns out amazing—hope you’ll come back for more!

Wow! What a wonderful way to spend a day. Auntie K is such an experienced chef and cook. She took into consideration our need for low spice levels. She was generous in explaining how to cook the dishes and showed us the spices used. This is must do in Ghana
Response from Host, Apr 2025
Thank you for the lovely review! I’m so happy you enjoyed the day with me. It was my pleasure to adjust the spice levels for you—cooking should always feel just right. If you want to learn how to whip up some authentic Ghanaian cuisine, let Auntie K and her sister guide you. And yes, I can confirm Ghana has the best jollof rice. Auntie K ensured the menu accommodated my entire party's array of dietary restrictions. Not a single dish lacked flavor.
Response from Host, Apr 2025
Thanks for the awesome review! I’m so glad you enjoyed learning to cook Ghanaian dishes with me and my sister—especially the jollof rice, Ghana’s finest! It was a pleasure tailoring the menu to your group’s dietary needs while keeping every bite packed with flavor. Hope to cook with you again soon!

I had a wonderful experience with Auntie Kay and her daughter learning to make jolly, kelewele, fish and chicken. She allows you to get as involved in the cooking process as you want, shows you the seasoning techniques are uses and provides instruction. It was also wonderful to be in her home with her family while making the food!
Come hungry! Leave happy! Couldn't recommend more!

Auntie K was a delight! I enjoyed cooking with her and her daughters. Everyone was nice and hospitable! The other guests (including myself) called her “Auntie”! Auntie K is everybody’s aunt. I learned how to cook Ghana food such rice jollof and kelewele, to name a few - DELICIOUS! I also learned how to cook an “egg sandwich.” Some of my Ghanaian friends told me the name of this dish. There may be another name but I am unsure. There was also chicken, fish and kontomire on the menu. YUM!
Response from Host, Apr 2025
Oh my dear, your words bring me such joy! It was a delight having you in my kitchen, and I’m so happy you felt at home—everyone is family here! I hope you continue to enjoy and cook these delicious dishes. You’re always welcome to return for more! Much love, Auntie K.

We had a lovelyyyy time at Auntie K’s cooking class. We arrived a couple hours after a long night of partying during Detty December so unfortunately our engines weren’t revved and we had a very slow start. We peeled and cut some veggies and pounded some spices but Auntie K graciously undertook almost all of the cooking. She walked us through what she was doing and the steps she was taking. Everything look and smelled soooo good. She teased us lovingly like an auntie would when we weren’t doing much and encouraged us to engage more. We shared laughter and a great meal. Her entire family was welcoming and I would do this experience again and again! We were asked what we would like to cook days prior to the cooking class. Our menu consisted of jollof rice, kelewele, grilled chicken, cabbage, fufu, and goat stew. Everything was so delicious. The kelewele was the best I had during my stay in Accra. The jollof was among the top 3 I had in Accra as well. We ate A LOT of kelewele and jollof during our stay and the ones prepared by Auntie K ranked amongst our favorites. I would love to come back and do this experience. Thank you Auntie K And Family!!

I always enjoy teasing my guests like family and encouraging everyone to join in. I’m thrilled that the kelewele and jollof rice were some of your favorites during your stay in Accra! Tawana_G, Jan 2024
The class consisted of the whole group sitting and watching Auntie K cooked food. The cooking class took place in her front yard that had many different people coming in and out (very nice people).
The food did taste really good. We just felt misled with the verbiage!
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Hello Tawana,
We apologize for not giving you the services you expected with our cooking class. We are thankful for this feedback and it will only make us better to help give the best in the future. We look forward to hosting you again to do more together.
Carla_T, Jan 2024
The food was delicious and Auntie made sure to meet my dietary needs. I would not call this a cooking class, it was more of a demonstration. We sorted beans then sat and watched her cook. I’ve been to other cooking classes that were very hands on, and this was not. I feel like I will still need to look up the recipes and follow them myself to learn how to make the dishes. I wish that we’re able to cook the food ourselves to have step by step instructions. Also, make sure that you have a lot of time. We were there almost 4 hours and were told that we were “rushing.” Understood that good food takes time, but 4 hours for an abbreviated class seems a bit excessive. We did book last minute, (the day before) which might explain the lack of preparation ahead of time, but I feel that the food could have been better prepared ahead of time to cut down on time (i.e. chopped vegetables, etc) The host was very friendly and knowledgeable, but there are a few adjustments that could be made to make it a better experience.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Hello Carla,
Thank you so much for your constructive feedback. We appreciate it so much as this is the only way we can grow this cooking class to ensure we put out the best services possible to our cherished guests.

Brilliant day cooking at Aunty K’s home. We started with a trip to the markets, where we bought the ingredients for the meal. We made a range of traditional and delicious dishes! Aunty K catered to our dietary requirements and was an excellent teacher and cook. The class is great value for money - we spent almost an entire day with Aunty K (one of our favourite days in Ghana so far). Highly recommend!
Response from Host, Oct 2023
Cooking with you was an absolute joy! From our market adventure to crafting those delicious dishes together, your enthusiasm made the day truly special. I'm thrilled I could cater to your dietary needs, and spending the entire day with you was definitely one of my favorite moments in the cooking class experience too. Thanks for making it memorable Rennae!

This was one of the best activities I did on my solo trip to Accra. Aunty K was excellent. Very easy to talk to and very welcoming. I enjoyed everything I ate and loved watching/being involved in the process. I even took some notes and tried one of the recipes when I got home (the fried turkey wings) and it came out great. Would 100% recommend!
Response from Host, Oct 2023

Our time with auntie kk was simply amazing. We pitched in on the food prep with auntie. Her trusted assistant Debra (cousin) was there to assist auntie throughout.
Now the food auntie cooked was very delicious and plentiful. We ate sooo much that when got back to the hotel. We just showed and went bed extremely early. I Highly recommend that everybody choose cooking with auntie kk when in Accra.

Elizabeth_K, Feb 2023
Auntie K was very welcoming and generous, ensuring we had a very good meal at the end of the class. This class is definitely what you make it: we asked to learn to make some specific dishes, and that's exactly what we did. If you prefer, the host can decide on some classic local dishes or take you to the market. We preferred to take a hands on approach to the cooking when possible, but you can also watch and learn. We would have preferred to be even more hands on, but our host did show us the steps clearly when we were watching. It was easy to communicate ahead of time to provide allergies, preferences, etc. One warning: make sure you have plenty of time! Local dishes take a while to make.
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Thank you Elizabeth! It was a joy having you in our home on the day. Keep cooking Ghana 🇬🇭
