Emmanuel did a wonderful job escorting us around his city and introducing us to the sights. We started with a nice visit to Independence Square where we heard a bit of the history of Ghana and the meaning of the Adinkra symbols – which once you see them, you see them all over Accra. A visit to the Sunday market was a fascinating and intense experience! I can only imagine going to the full market – Sunday was fine for us! We drove through Jamestown on the way to the Kwame Nkrumah park – beautiful and poignant! A last visit to the craft market allowed me to buy a wall hanging of one of those Adinkra symbols that resonated with me. So, I’ll have great memories of Accra and Ghana. Thanks Emmanuel – highly recommended!

The booking experience was seamless, and Benjamin runs a very strict company. My guide Emmanuel was incredible, very knowledgeable and kind and I learned so much from him during the day! He also helped me with a couple of other things through the day like exchanging currency and trying some new foods. It is clear that he is very passionate about what he is showing tourists!! The tour itself was incredible and very safe. It was a good start to my trip to hear about how Ghana gained independence and the people and experiences that led to it as it was my first full day.
It was definitely 11/10 stars-so much so that I booked another tour with BigBen and Emmanuel again while I was on the existing tour, can’t wait to do more with their company in a few days!!!
I 100% recommend using this company if you are visiting Ghana, and the Accra history tour was very safe and well run and comprehensive!!!

I had an excellent experience with my tour guide, Emmanuel! Even though I was traveling solo, another traveler joined the tour, and it made for a great small group experience.
Emmanuel was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much interesting information throughout the tour. Samuel was the perfect guide for this tour. He provided a wealth of knowledge at the monument locations, and helped us access that provided an excellent view of the city. The tour guides at the Dubois and Nkrumah Centers were also extremely knowledgeable, providing keen insights into the subjects of those centers and the rich history they were an integral parts of.

It was a great trip. I thought it was going to be a group tour but turned out to be a solo trip, which was fine by me because i was able to ask more questions and take my time.

I asked to go see a shop with wood carvings, and they took me to one that was not at the scheduled stops. Very accommodating, also very knowledgeable about the history of Ghana and Africa. It was very fun and interesting!

Enjoyed visiting the key cultural sights in Accra and was afforded ample time to explore at each spot! The only blemish was a delay to the start of the tour and lack of clarity as to tour guides, but other than that I would recommend!

Samuel was exceptional, exceptional, exceptional ! I’d give him 6 out of 5 stars! He was well versed on Ghanaian history, current affairs, culture and religion. My sky-high visit to the enormous outdoor market was eye-opening. But the best thing about my half day tour was Samuel’s warm, outgoing and friendly personality. I felt totally comfortable from the moment he picked me up. He is one of the top guides I’ve had in my life and I’d recommend him to anyone who wants to know more about Accra, Ghana.

My husband, friend, and I had a wonderful time on the Experience the Beauty, History and Culture of Accra in a Day tour. Our guide, Elijah, was incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating, he even let us stop for lunch, though it wasn’t originally included. We learned so much about the history of Accra and truly enjoyed the experience.
A few tips: eat before you go, pack water and sunscreen, and bring patience, Ghana’s sun and traffic are no joke! We were picked up around 9am and dropped off around 4pm, so it’s a full day.
One thing to note: we were a bit surprised that the tour vehicle was an older Toyota Corolla. It did have AC, and since it was just the four of us, it worked fine, but with more people, it would’ve been tight.
Overall, we had a great day and would recommend this tour for anyone wanting to explore Accra’s rich history and culture.
