Elafonissi Beach Elafonissi is located 76km west of Chania in the southwestern most point of Crete. Elafonisi is an oblong, which often "breaks" in two parts by water giving the impression of being a separate island. Elafonissi is a “Natura 2000” protected area. The island is full of dunes with sand lilies and junipers (like-cedar trees). The endangered turtles Caretta-Caretta and several rare animals nest on the island and it is strictly forbidden to remove any plants, animals from the area. Exotic beach with white sand and turquoise waters, reminding of the Caribbean, are formed on either sides of the peninsula. The sand is pinkish in many places, taking its color from thousands of broken shells.

Great Beach Day

This was a great experience and one of my favorite days on Crete. Communication with Christine was seamless when coordinating pick up and Eleni + Kostas made sure the day ran smoothly. We arrived at Elafonissi beach before the crowds so there was time to enjoy it in peace. There was enough time to enjoy both beaches and with a stop at the Vouves olive tree. It was a small group for the day (11 people) and the packed lunch from the company was enough for the day. They also gave water throughout the day. I highly recommend this!

A perfect day

When we were on the wrong side of the road for pick up early in the morning, Kosta called me. Kosta & Emmanuela were a great team. When we realized we would not make our dinner reservation, Emmanuella helped us cancel the reservation at the hotel. From the music played on the bus to the knowledge of the local towns, it was a well choreographed, and sincere experience. Elofianissi was a beautiful beach. The stops were well timed for the bathroom and special treats!

Great!!

Wonderful! We had a great trip that was insightful, well planned and kid friendly! We had 3 young kids and appreciated getting good car seats for them and loved that we got options about the locations and flexibility with time. We also got to use their umbrellas for the beach and a bag of snacks and drinks. 10/10 recommend!

Excellent Driver for Exploring Crete – Just Know It’s Not a Guided Tour

Please note this is not a guided tour—you are hiring an English-speaking driver, not a tour guide. Spiros was excellent: great English, very flexible, accommodating, and patient with our multigenerational family, which made the day smooth and enjoyable. For historical context, a separate tour guide is recommended, as Spiros focuses on transportation rather than guiding. We spent the day at a beach club and had a wonderful experience. Highly recommended for getting around the island. Transportation can be challenging, and taxis in Souda are very limited—we were nearly stranded, so having Spiros available for reliable pick-up and drop-off was invaluable.Lilia, NYC

Outstanding private shuttle service

We reserved a 5-hour shuttle service from the cruise ship port in Chania to Falassarna Beach. Our driver, Angela, picked us up on time and was a fantastic driver, offering lots of local history during our drive to the beach. After arriving at the beach and reserving a cabana we realized we had forgotten a cell phone and the included snorkel gear in the van. Angela was very helpful and brought the phone and gear down to us at the beach. After a couple hours we departed, and on our way back to the port we stopped at a roadside store to buy local olive oil and snacks. Angela gave us lots of advice on time management and food options. Angela then drove us to a restaurant in a less crowded neighborhood, where we had a delicious Crete lunch with many grilled meats. Overall it was a great start to our Mediterranean vacation.

Exceptional private experience

If I could give this to her 10 stars I would! George picked us up promptly at our desired time and location. We traveled in a very clean and spacious van. Although the day is scheduled for up to 10 hours, we desired only a seven hour tour. Because it is completely private, George helped us to identify what was best for our group to cut, so we would be back at our desired time. We started our day at a beautiful olive orchard where we learned about olive trees, olive oil production, as well as their beehives and honey. We had a very fun tasting experience in a gorgeous setting of the olive trees. After this, we opted to visit the cave, where George told us a little history about its significance. It was a very unique and special experience for our family. When we visited the beach, George was very kind and prepared with beach towels, mats, and even an umbrella. He always had a fresh supply of cold waters for us and did everything possible to make us comfortable. He brought us to a lovely restaurant for lunch and we opted to end our day early. For people who want to do more, the day has the potential to be longer. There is a lot of driving around the island, but George gave us a perfect balance of answering our questions, and also allowing us to just be quiet and enjoy enjoying the beautiful scenery. He was an exceptionally careful driver, as many of these mountain roads seemed quite dangerous. I cannot say enough good things about this tour. Don’t hesitate to book! Definitely worth the money. Wonderful! Would book again!

Stella was wonderful! She picked us up right on time and took us to Elafonisi beach which was beautiful! She did a great job getting us there early before it go too crowded. We bought chairs with umbrellas and enjoyed the day. We walked back to the vehicle where she took us to a local restaurant in Crete that had amazing food! We loved getting to experience a local meal before getting back on our cruise ship! Would 100% book with her again!!

Perfect way to spend a day in Crete!

We loved this entire excursion from the easy pickup at a nearby hotel to the entertaining and informative tour guide Nikos to the beautiful views of the Imbros Gorge and the lovely Sfakia beach excursion. We had planned on doing the Samaria Gorge hike however it was closed when we went to Crete but we’re glad we did this tour instead since the hike itself was two hours rather than five. While we hiked, we were able to leave our beach items on the bus. The beach in Sfakia was a lovely beach that blocked the wind, was refreshing after the hike, and had some rocks to climb around on. The driver did an excellent job navigating some winding roads. Overall, this entire experience from start to finish was well worth it!
