Unique Crete experience

The tour gave us so much insights to the history of Chania and the drive through the gorge gave us views of the beautiful nature of Crete and the restaurant in the mountains was amazing in variety and taste. Everything was cooked on woodfire and with most amazing host. Peter our guide was less than amazing with his knowledge of history and passion. Definitely recommend this tour if one wish to experience a unique Cretan experience.

Thank you for your kind words. We are happy you enjoyed the tour and west Crete! The combination of Chania old town with nature and food is the best to have an overview of the island of Crete. The food in particular is very unique, as its local, farm to table, and we believe is the best restaurant in the world. We could have made an easier choice, to eat at Therisso village at the end of the gorge, like most tours do and get a good commission, but its not the same quality or slowly cooked in wood oven. We want you to have the best experience. Many travellers comment that the food is more unique than Chania old town, as there are many medieval cities. Peter on the other hand is amazing, having studied business in the US while he had a basketball scholarship. He has been around, is an accountant and manager so knows how to connect a Greek experience to an American point of view. We hope to see you in the future in Crete, for a longer stay. We can give better price if booking directly, just search Niriis Tours.

Therisso gorge is the most beautiful gorge and nature near Chania and the restaurants up in the mountains serve tasty food with local ingredients. The scenery, nature and views are amazing up in the mountains.
