!!! In the autumn and winter months the starting time is at 07:30 am because the day is shorter and the trip needs daylight to experience it. !!! !!! Please note that the departure from all central hotels in Bucharest in December, January-March is set to be from the University Square bus stop at 07:30 am !!! Failure to be on time will be regarded as no-show and you will have the option to take it another day (depending on the availability). !!! Please contact us on our emergency line should you require any help or clarification about the starting time !!! If the self-guided option is booked, there is no pick up as you travel by your type of transport. Border delays could always be expected and we can advise about them but have no control over. Please note that some pick up areas are not available for entry and we pick up from the closest one to your hotel. Also, very often the starting time is earlier because of expected border delays. Please, note that the privately-guided option should return you to Bucharest. !!! Please note that if you do not provide a working mobile number in your name at least 1 day in advance the trip is to be rescheduled for the next days !!! Please, note that the capacity is up to 20 people and the number of people can vary depending on the number of adults and children.

False and misleading tour title!

Rommel_M, Jun 2025
This tour is misleading and outright false. It’s called “The Ultimate Day Trip to Bulgaria FROM BUCHAREST” — but it actually starts in Bulgaria. I booked it based on the title alone, assuming it leaves from Bucharest. Turns out the meeting point is in Ruse, Bulgaria. Sure, I should’ve checked, but the title clearly says it starts in Bucharest. When I contacted Viator and the tour provider asking for a transfer (which I was willing to pay for) or a refund, they basically said tough luck. Nothing they could do. An expensive mistake.

Hello, thanks for your review. It's misleading what you wrote because the information before booking is very clear and you booked the self-guided tour option which means you need to reach the starting point yourself. We never had any information you were willing to pay for transportation or change the tour option. The privately-guided option is what you needed and you could have easily booked that or amended with the support. Best regards, Hristo

A pure scam, avoid it while you still can

Ting_Z, Oct 2024
Never thought this kind of scammer still exist in 2024 but obviously only on Viator. The low cost option what’s so called self-guided tour which costs 77USD is merely a two page pdf with historical information from Wikipedia (if this is a business why wouldn’t people do other things for a living), and they refuse to answer any of your questions about transportation before you can cancel for free, and tell you everything is fine until the night before your trip. Then when you wanna cancel they play the victim saying everything was on the page and you are the one to blame, and even if you wanna upgrade to their expensive option of 300Euro they still can’t arrange it, all they want is to keep the money, and the worst part is that it was too late for you to arrange anything else. I would say this is the worst impression they can leave on tourist who merely want a glimpse of Bulgaria on behalf of their country.

Hello dear customer. We read your review with interest and anger because of several facts: 1. You booked a self-guided trip starting from Ruse as clearly stated in your voucher and in your booking. You wanted a pick up from Bucharest which is part of the privately-guided trip option which is several times more expensive.; 2. One day prior to any trip we send all info to all customers which was done for you too; 3. Our support took more than 30 minutes total on the phone with you, very supportive; 4. In the end you had to pay for the privately-guided option which you did not do. We still cannot believe and understand how come somebody would book a self-guided tour, ask for it to be privately-guided without paying more for it. Absolutely far from the truth is what you write because on the spots you have the local guiding and it's just not the pdf as you wrote. We are very sorry to read your review because it's very misleading and representation of trying to do something which is 4-5 times more expensive on the price of the cheapest option. All the best

a nossa guia nao nos avisou sobre o passaporte, quando já estávamos próximo a fronteira foi que nos perguntou, os passaportes fico no hotel em Bucareste, foi frustrante,e ainda tivemos que paga 50 euros p voltamos de taxi

Response from Host, May 2019

Hello, My team and I personally have several times accented on taking your passports with you in a written and verbal format. Also, the guide on spot asked you when you were picked up. It's totally your mistake to have forgotten them no matter how many times we reminded you. This great tour does not deserve such low rating as you put it. Remember that when going in another country you always need a passport to cross the border. Your tour comes to Bulgaria. Best regards, Hristo
