Wonderful day out to Plovdiv and Koprivshtitsa
Wonderful day trip!
Marina was great - so knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting facts about life and culture in Bulgaria.
The day was long but there were plenty of opportunities for breaks and rests. Enough time in Plovdiv for a lunch and shop.

Wonderful day out to into mountains
Fabulous day out!
Rila Monastery was beautiful and Maria bought it to life with intersting stories and information.
Boyana Church was amazing but very limited time inside (church rules, not fault of tour). Nevertheless a wonderful day out and Maria was a great host!

I visited the monastery...
I visited the monastery and cave. In the tour though, if you didn’t book the church you still have to go and wait for the group, (btw they were charging €6 for 6 minutes to look inside the church)! The Monastery was absolutely beautiful, out of this world. The cave was pretty cool, went inside and climbed through the hole. Overall was a good trip but group was too big and a lot of waiting around.
Tour guide Lubo was excellent though, very funny and gave lots of information on each place we went to.
For this trip, it only cost me about £17 on Viator. It was so worth £17, bargain tour!

Perfect day out from Sofia
The Rila lakes are extremely popular, especially on the weekends. The crowds were unimaginable. The chair lift process is a bit disorganized, the line-up took over an hour to clear. Wish the guides had a way to reserve lift tickets in advance. Nevertheless, the views up above by the lakes were totally worth the wait. We took a guide option and perhaps we should have opted out to a self-guided option as it the pace was a bit high. However, the guide was instrumental in reaching the sixth lake (and potentially the seventh) on time and getting back to the bus. The hike took about 3 hours and the length was about 8 km with the elevation gain of 400m. First, you climb a steep incline to the right of the chalet, then it is a walk on a fairly flat surface until you reach the last big incline to the sixth and seventh lakes. Overall, depending on your ambitions, you may want to spend longer up by the lakes depending on your overall fitness (unless you need to be on-time for the return bus!). There are some food and drinks on both sides of the chair lift. The chalet up top has a small restaurant with sitting outside. We got lucky with no rain as the chairs are open but sure do check the forecast so you come on a clear day. The monastery on the way back was a perfect icing on a cake and a relaxing stop after the mountain hike. Overall, this is probably the best tour we took from Sofia. Very long day but totally worth it.

Excellent value for a full day
This tour is incredibly efficient - for the price, you get a full day of activities, breathtaking views, and comfortable transportation. The guide was excellent, explained everything in detail, and provided us with a useful map.
One important tip for future travellers: take the departure times seriously!
The bus leaves on time, and apparently on almost every tour someone misses it and has to make their own way back. So keep an eye on the time and don’t rely on the bus waiting for you.
Overall, highly recommended - great experience and excellent value for money.

Plovdiv with Sonia (English tour)
The tour was a lovely way to spend the day in Plovdiv. Sonia was a wonderful tour leader, and very friendly/approachable. She was well versed and knowledgeable in all aspects in the history of Plovdiv and Bulgarian history. Would highly recommend doing this tour if you’re weighing up between traveling to Plovdiv on your own, or taking a tour.

Great tour
Nis is interesting and I enjoyed this tour. Our guide Lubo was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. After a previous accident, I'm not a fan of motorways and the speed limits in Bulgaria are higher than what I'm used to but Lubo was a great driver and I felt very safe in his car. We had long queues at the borders but he kept us in good spirits.
I would avoid this tour during the summer holidays as I believe the border queues are rediculous.

Great Experience and would highly recommend if you are looking for some relaxation.
Company was very good with their communication prior to the tour started. For someone who came over 6k miles to Bulgaria, this is important. Ivan was a great tour guide. The Monastery was beautiful and it was such a scenic drive while Ivan gave us some background information about Bulgaria. Thermal pools were my favorite. They were perfect and very relaxing. There were no crowds so I could easily enjoy with relaxation. The amount of time we spent there was perfect (3 hours). We made it back to Sofia at about 5:50pm which also allowed me to attend the 6pm free walking tour.

All praise to our guide...
All praise to our guide Kiko who was so energetic and informative and drove us a long way so we had an opportunity to visit the beautiful city of Skope.
It was such an interesting place and special to view the birthplace of Mother Teresa and be in awe of the giant statue of Alexander the Great.
The bazaars are exciting to see and they certainly imbue the ambience and authenticity of this area.

Worth visiting
It was a rainy day but still an amazing place to visit
Perhaps worth bringing your own lunch as the cafes in VT seem a bit standoffish/ rude, but an incredible place and geography of a small picturesque town nestled among a wooded valley with a fortress in the hills and a river down below

Peter was great, took us...
Peter was great, took us to delicious spots with lots of food, and was able to accommodate to everyone. He was passionate and you could tell how much he enjoyed what he did as well. He knew the history of the area well and gave good recommendations for the rest of the trip

We loved this trip!...
We loved this trip! Alexander was so informative and interesting to talk to. He is clearly very smart and enjoys sharing his passion for history.
Plovdid is such an interesting place! The two hour tour was a good overview but I need to come back and spend a week next time. Rila monastery was beautiful but an hour was plenty of time there. If you have limited time like we did, this was a great way to see two of the best bulgarian sights.
