A glance on left and right bank in one day

A good way to get a first impression of left and right bank in Bordeaux. Roberto was not only the driver but also a very good guide with a lot of knowledge about wines and history of the region. The tasting in St. Emilion and the visits at 3 wineries have been marvellous. The Picknick-lunch was excellent and the participants from 3 countries (Austria, Brazil, Scotland) had a lot of fun.

We had an absolutely amazing time on our vineyard tour in Bordeaux! Vincent was a fantastic tour guide so friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about what he does. He gave us lots of really interesting and relevant information about the vineyards, wine-making and the region, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We all had such a great time from start to finish and learned so much along the way. Vincent really made the tour special with his enthusiasm and expertise. We opted for a smaller tour size (there were 8 pax in our minibus) compared to larger coach sized groups. Very pleased we took the smaller more intimate option This allowed for much better conversation with our guide and wine estate hosts. Our guide was very knowledgeable and fluent in English, which was very useful. We had 2 kids with us and our guide was excellent in distracting them while the adults were in the vineyards or in the tasting room. Thank you, Gaspard! The visit to St Emillion was also fascinating, although very touristy, and a short visit during this busy time was more than adequate.

Our experience included several delightful tastings, starting in St. Emilion and continuing at two distinct Châteaux. The provided lunch was both substantial and expertly prepared. There was an absence of pushy sales approaches at all venues. Nevertheless, a wide array of wine was available for purchase across various price points at each location.

A picturesque day in Saint-Emilion

This experience was an incredible way to experience the French wine region of Saint-Emilion. We met our lovely group and highly-knowledgeable tour guide, Leatitia in the heart of Bordeaux, before venturing off together into the wine region. It was hard to believe such a gorgeous place existed only about an hour or so away from Bordeaux! During our journey, Leatitia kept us engaged with insightful information about Bordeaux and Saint-Emilion’s history and landscape. When in the region, we got to wander through the vines, gain insight into the wine production process in the territory as well as taste some gorgeous wines, with no shortage of spots to take some beautiful pictures. Following on, we spent a bit of time in the town of Saint Emilion, a UNESCO world heritage site (as of 1999) where approx. 2000 people reside. We also got to have a little sweet treat, enjoying some mouth-watering ice-cream before heading back. To end the day, we got to test our senses playing a little car game of trying to guess different aromas that could compliment or be infused into wines. Thank you Leatitia and the Orphorus team for such a wonderful experience we will remember for a long time!

Worthwhile and Tasty Tour

Small group with an excellent guide (Xavier) who knows so much about wine and wine growing in the area. He also has established relationships with some of the smaller private vineyards so we went to places that are not available to larger groups. Each place is unique and the hosts/vintners very welcoming and informative. St. Emillion is charming. The whole tour is an ideal way to experience this part of France.

Wonderful tour!

Wonderful full day tour where you get to accomplish a lot, which was our goal! Mia was such a great tour guide, and we learnt so much. We were super lucky to spend all this time with her. The day was full of sightseeing, wine tasting, and great stories. Definitely recommend it if you are in Bordeaux for the first time and want to get familiar with different regions and get a feel for the area.

Alex Wine!

This is a great tour. A mix of winery sizes and regions. All were so knowledgeable and the tour did not seem like they were giving a rehearsed speech. Alex is phenomenal, smart, funny with a wide knowledge base about wine and French history. The stop in St. Emillion was also a treat. It was a great day!
