We really enjoyed this half day wine tour. Our guide Matius was very knowledgeable about the local area and all things wine. We enjoyed visiting a Chateau winery and having a wine tasting. This was followed by a visit to the Saint Emillion township which is beautiful to walk around with historic old buildings and an incredible church. Would recommend this tour.

Enjoyable half day trip. The winery was beautiful and it was interesting learning about wine. The tasting was fun. Having a bit of free time to walk around the village was nice also.

Ana_L, Feb 2026
Too much talking, too little drinking. The amount of wine tasted is scanty and differs from guests. Seeing the city or the chateau are worthless

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Bonjour Ana_L, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry the experience did not meet your expectations. Our tours aim to balance wine tasting with cultural and historical context, which may not suit all preferences. Tastings are intended to be consistent for all guests, and we will review your comment with our team. Thank you for joining us. Kind regards, Carole from the Ophorus team

Bravo Bordeaux!

If you are a wine lover, cannot get enough of hearing about varietals and how to taste it like a pro - this short tour is for you!

Fun and informative afternoon.

Stephen_W, Oct 2025
Very informative tour of the Bordeaux Right Bank vineyards and the town of St. Emilion. Carol provided a lot of great information about the vineyards, town, and the rules, processes and implementation of the wine rating system. We tasted 4 wines, and got to compare vintages and methods.

Spectacular tour

David_S, Oct 2025
This was a perfect tour for a solo traveler. The small grouping was great and our guide, Guy, friendly and very knowledgeable. Lastly, Saint Emilion is spectacular!

Outstanding wine tasting tour

chris_r, Oct 2025
Outstanding experience. Mathis our tour guide was knowledgeable and super friendly. Great sense of humor. Loved the wine tasting and exploring the village of St Emillion. Highly recommended this tour.

Great Wine tour

Cheryl_s, Oct 2025
Luigi, our guide was excellent. He combined the history of the area and the wine making process into a fantastic excursion. He also was very good about discussing the different wines that we tasted. He did stop entertaining us until he dropped us off.

Nice experience

Kathryn_T, Oct 2025
Lovely day. Great, knowledgeable guide. Delicious wine. More time in town and a bit more wine would have been nice.

St Emilion

billsutherlanduasops, Oct 2025
great intro into St Emilion wine region which included a good look of the old town. Dulce was a great tour guide and highly recommend her and her company

A half day was not quite enough

Deb_E, Oct 2025
This is a good tour for people with a basic understanding of wine. If you already know a reasonable amount then it might be too basic for you. Of the 4 hours, 2 are spent driving to St Emilion and back. We only had 45 minutes to explore the town so that felt quite rushed. A full day tour would be better if you want to see the town properly. The Chateau we visited was very nice. Our tour guide was quite the character and told some funny tales.

Great toyr

Jackie_A, Oct 2025
This was such a great tour. Luigi our guide was so u knowledgeable about the wines and area. Enjoyed it a lot!! Chateau Bellevue was lovely too!

Not worth the price

Sheila_W, Oct 2025
Great scenery, and St. Emilion is fabulous, the winery is lovely.... but there should have been more wine provided at the tasting, and more time to walk around St. Emilion.

Sue_O, Oct 2025
Rudolph was fun and informative. He explained all about the wine and answered all of our questions. He played a game with the group where we had to guess scents in little bottles. It was so fun and interesting. The Chateau was lovely. Saint Emilion is an adorable town. Well worth the trip.

St. Emilion + wine tasting

Perfect half day tour

Kristofer_P, Sep 2025
A wonderful tour, well organized but still relaxed in a charming French way. Our tour guide Stan was knowledgable and fun. Highly recommended!

St Emilion

A fantastic day in Saint Emilion Our guide “Maud “ was so knowledgeable on the area & the wine production 👍👍👍👍👍

Saint Emillion Wine Tour

Eleonorina_L, Sep 2025
Our guide, Luigi, was fantastic! Very informative and engaging. My only negative is that we should’ve spent more time in the town of Saint Emilion. There was too much of explanation the wine making process. More than was necessary. Especially if you were to visit more than one winery. The technique is about the same at every winery.

Saint Emilion Wine Tour and Tasting with Guy

Aaron_P, Sep 2025
We had Guy as our guide and it was a fantastic revisit not only to the wine history but the history of the region as we drive to Saint Emilion. It was a beautiful vineyard with great tasting facilities and the tour of the cave was a lovely escape from the heat. Amazing day learning something new and tasting wine !

St Emmilion tasting trip.

JoAnne_M, Sep 2025
This was an information filled trip. We learned so much about the town of St Emillion and the wines of the region. An hour in the town entailed walking down very rough large streets. Very picturesque. The tour of the winery was interesting but a bit long. The tasting was delicious. The guide was quite knowledgeable and friendly.

Wine Tour

Catherine_W, Sep 2025
We had a wonderful time on the tour. Got to see and hear the process of making wine. Chateau Belleview was gorgeous and the owner was there and welcomed us with open arms. Our tour guide was quite knowledgeable and made our trip so fun.

Amazing!

Julia_C, Sep 2025
This tour has convinced me I need to return again! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and kind. The vineyard we visited was not only beautiful but also very obviously a working chateaux so we got the real experience. The only thing I wish we could have done was have a bit more time in the village but it was just a half day tour.

Wine lovers' dream in St Emilion

Fred_H, Sep 2025
Excellent tour guide, Luiggi. Group of eight people, beautiful countryside, St Emilion very impressive, château visit very pleasant, wine tasting nice atmosphere with superb wines.

Trust the other receivers

Amy_F, Sep 2025
Pick up is a bit of a miss since dozen of other tours pick up from the same location. Tour was private and small. You do an interesting wine tour but our tour guide at the winery didnt speak good english and was insulted when I gently told him that “barrels” and “bagels” were pronounced differently. Basically the whole tour he kept talking about “bagels.” After the tour you go to a wine shop and they make you sample wine and seem to really try to make you buy bottles. The tour felt like a cash grab. Not recommended.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that parts of your experience were disappointing. Regarding the pick-up, the Tourist Office is indeed the most common and practical meeting point, as many tours depart from there. For guests wishing for a customized or hotel pick-up, this can be arranged by booking a private tour. As for the winery visit, we’ll follow up with our local partner to ensure communication is clearer and that the experience feels welcoming and informative for all guests. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, as it helps us improve the service we deliver. Kind regards, Jeanne from the Ophorus Team
