A full day of history, knowledge and an incredible experience

It is a great experience. The salt mine tour is extremely interesting and our guide - Samantha was wonderful. You have to be prepared to take a lot of steps down stairs but it is worth it. The tours of Auschwitz-Birkenau was so moving, educational and extremely well done. Our guide was very passionate and extremely knowledgeable and made the experience so memorable. The entire day is worth it and you will get in a lot of walking exercise. We must never forget the horrors of the Nazi regime and be vigilant to make sure it never happens again.

Comfy shoes is a must. Be prepared to walk. Guides were knowledgable. Auschwitz / Birkenau and the salt mines is a long day but worthwhile doing all in one go. The packup was exceptional and fresh. Driver was professional but relaxed. Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Worth the little extra to be on a guided tour and not having to wait and queue on entry. WARNING-likely to be early collection but again worth it to miss the crowds.

Claire was an absolutely fantastic host for our three hour food tour. We’ve done tours in other cities, and this was by far the best. The quantity of food provided was more than just a taste - platters of cured meats (more than we could all eat), pastas and glasses and glasses of wine - you will not go hungry or thirsty while walking around the old city of Bologna! One suggestion would be to add a stop specific to tasting parmigiano reggiano, similar to the one we did to taste balsamic vinegar. Other than that tweak to the tour, we highly recommend this as a way to get a taste of the region and get your bearings in this beautiful city!

Great day full of excursions

Great tour, long day with a lot of walking. Great excursions. The salt mine was wonderful and impressive. Lots of pictures taken, and information received. The guide was very friendly and professional, knowledgeable. The Auschwitz excursion was very informative and a bit depressing simply because of the subject. But, people need to see and hear and understand the degree of brutality and cruelty with which people in the concentration camps (and war in general) were treated. Our host Jay was prompt, friendly and informative. One suggestion is to start the day with the concentration camps visit and finish at the salt mine to cheer people up.

Amazing time

Our driver Peter was amazing. He was our tour guide to and from the salt mines, pointing out things to us and telling us the history and story behind them. Incredible VIP Experience through the heart of Emilia Romana

This was an experience of a lifetime. From the moment we were picked up until the end of the day we felt well taken care of and treated like VIPs. Despite being fairly adventurous on our own, my husband and I both believe we would have never made it to all of these places and received the same treatment in just one day. Very informative and punctual, Bohdan and the driver were funny, played music and gave good information as we were driving to and from the mines. A perfect homemade dinner for a rainy Bologna evening

I am remiss in not telling you about this fun evening much earlier. Vivian and her assistant turned a rainy Bologna evening into a mini feast. There were four participants in the cooking class in a well laid out room. None of us had ever made pasta before, and her step by step demonstration and tutelage changed flour and egg into masterpieces after wine and appetizers. She already had the sauce simmering. We tasted the difference between Campari and Aperol Spritz while cooking our pasta. A delicious meal and relatively easy to do! Recipes are available.
