What are people saying about Bologna

Best tour I’ve ever had
Unbelievable experience. I travel a lot and don’t do food tours because I have been in a restaurant, seen small group come in for an appetizer and leave. But I saw reviews for this and tried it. Can’t say enough about how great it was. The food was amazing. Both breakfast and lunch. The factory tours super interesting. During lunch at private restaurant they played great music and our amazing guide, driver and restaurant cooks put on a hilarious show. Everyone was laughing at how much food and pasta they kept bringing out. In conclusion, if you do one thing during your stay in Bologna, take his tour for learning, eating very well and great fun. And do not have breakfast or eat anything before the tour. By the way, I don’t drink but the wine flows freely starting at breakfast. My table mates loved that part.

This walking tour was...
This walking tour was great. Our guide, Victoria, was a few minutes late but she more than made up for it at the end! We enjoyed learning about the history of the city and also walking through the market and learning about the food. A great way to spend two hours getting to know the town.

Fabulous Food Tour
Really fabulous food tour - a must do while in Bologna. So much incredible food but it is spread out during the 4.5 hours and there is walking in there too. Our guide was Mattia, who is also the owner of Delicious Bologna. He was very knowledgeable and Bologna native. I highly recommend!

Exceptional!
The whole experience was fantastic!
Not only was Matthew incredibly forthcoming with our 1 year old daughter joining us on the session, she was also able to enjoy some gelato at the end!
His knowledge of the foods he was providing was exceptional however he had further knowledge of both the area and its history enabling us to ask questions beyond just the food involved.
The tour actually went on for longer than expected due to allowing us to ask so many questions.
We were able to do the tour with our daughter however she had to be carried in her harness rather than be in a pram/buggy due to the nature of the tour - make sure you are aware of this before booking!

Well That Was Fun
Well that was fun. Got to see the making of Parmesan, the making of balsamic vinegar with a fantastic lunch at the farm where the balsamic is made. Lambo was closed so we went to Pagani, which was fun and then off to Ferrari. Such a great day and a must do when in the area.

This was not our first...
This was not our first chance to explore Bologna. We had a wonderful time with our guide, Roberta, who immersed us in the food that makes Bologna such a renowned gastronomical destination. She walked us through the streets just enough to build our appetite and help us work off some of the incredible dishes she shared along the way. I highly recommend this experience to anyone wondering, “What should I eat when I’m in Bologna?”

Nicola provided the chill tour we wanted
New to Bologna, we asked for a three-hour, slow-paced introduction to the city, sites, and foods. Our guide was Nicola, who studied the details of our request and delivered with great accuracy. Nicola has a master's in History and was not only knowledgeable about Bologna's history, but was passionate about the stories he shared. Per our request, we started with a quick stop at a coffee shop and confirmed our loose agenda for the tour. He was very flexible. He pointed out a nice mix of places to go see on our own later, we stopped in little specialty shops, and he arranged for a delicious Balsamic Vinegar tasting. We learned about the towers, the porticos, and the Basilica, among other things. Afterwards, he sent us links to places we discussed for more touring and great eats. A couple of days later, we ran into Nicola in this historic district and it was like seeing an old friend! I highly recommend the walking tour!! And Nicola. :)

If you enjoy the wonders...
If you enjoy the wonders of Italian cuisine and goods, then you will absolutely love this tour. It is unbelievable the access you get on the cheese farm and you don’t know what balsamic vinegar can taste like until you come to Modena. By the end of the trip, we all wanted more.

A day well spent
This is what you’ve been looking for. Being invited into the home of a native Bologna resident that is gracious and a beautiful host. Teaching you to make recipes she was taught from her grandmother. Her home is spacious, inviting, warm and Maria Grazia is the best of hosts. The food we created together was the most delicious I’ve had in Italy. It was a day well spent.

Best day tour ever
Excellent tour. Each of the four activities is given just the right amount of time. They are close to each other, so not too much travelling. Our van was super comfortable and the drive very friendly. The lunch at the end to round everything off was delicious. At each spot we had expert guides who really cared about their products. Highly recommend this tour.

Frank and Judy Giannelli review
Our guide was outstanding. He gave us so much information about food and shops and things to do. He could have led a full day excursion and we would’ve been so happy. We rate him highly and will recommend him in the future. We so enjoyed his take on different varieties of food

Not seeing something you are looking for?
Often overshadowed by Italy’s more famous cities, Bologna offers a quieter, culture-rich base for exploring the north. As the capital of the Emilia-Romagna region, it’s a top destination for food-focused travelers, and tours often include tasting regional specialties such as prosciutto, Parmigiano Reggiano, and balsamic vinegar. However, Bologna day trips go beyond food, with guided tours to nearby highlights including the Chianti wine region, the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, and historic cities such as Ravenna. With round-trip transportation and local guides included, these tours make it easy to discover the best of Italy’s north in one day.
