Such a fantastic way to see some of the beautiful Basque Country. We booked this tour for a day’s excursion from Bilbao and it was the perfect set up. An easy drive to three beautiful and interesting spots, really showcasing the beauty of the countryside and highlighting the lovely coastline. Our guide Borja was excellent - full of character, great stories and enthusiasm which not only made for a more interesting day but also ensured the day ran smoothly. It was a fast paced tour and a long day from start to finish, but the amount we were able to see and learn about made it well worth it. The proximity of each site to both Bilbao itself and each other makes the travel time seem very quick and easy, and doing it all in one seamless trip makes it feel very satisfying to have covered so much ground in just one day. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a quick and easy way to explore beyond Bilbao.

While the overall tour itinerary was good and is one of the few that includes the hike, this was marketed as an English tour. I appreciate other languages etc I chose this tour because it was offered solely in English. 3/5 people spoke English but Spanish was spoken 66-70% of the time. If you say it’s just English please keep it English only. I’ve seen others which advertise a dual language tour but that’s not what I signed up for

Please note that it is clealy indicated in the plaform before you book it that this tour it is operared in both Spanish and English languages, the guide is bilingual. You can check it. We do not operate this tour solely in English.
Moreover, all the oficial explanations and guiding is done the same amount in both languages, we have a script that all our guides follow and we can guarantee that the explanations are given in the same way and amount equally.
That being said, sometimes some clients ask in their language things directly to the guides or they have a conversation with the guides about different things during the tours at some moments when the guides are not explaining, and those ones are not translated.

The tour was very good. The best part was the walk up to and back from the hermitage out on the island. Gernike was especially interesting too, mostly for its history, both proud and tragic. Our guide Igor was very personable and knowledgeable about the area.

Borja was a great guide with so much passion for the Basque culture. We learned so much about both Basque and world history especially during the last stop in Gurnica. Borja was very animated and detailed and full of energy through the day even though he had to repeat everything twice in English and Spanish.
Bermeo was a beautiful spot for lunch. And the hike was intense especially the steep path back to the parking lot at the end. There is some pressure to keep the pace with the group but understandably considering there are two more stops and a schedule to keep.
It was a long day but very worth the experience.

Really enjoyed our tour! The main stop is San Juan de Gaztelugatze (about 2.5h) and it’s an incredible natural and cultural wonder - really special place. While initially a little challenging to hear over the bus speakers, I increasingly appreciated the passion, knowledge and exuberance of our guide over the course of the day. Bermeo was essentially a 2h lunch stop and self-guided exploration, and then we learned a ton about the sobering history of devastating bombing (1937) of Gernika as well as the political history and distinct independent identity of the Basque people. Super solid day! Would recommend.
Note that the hike to San Juan, to fully see it, requires physical exertion- you steeply descend 200m to the bridge, climb about 100 up to the church, and then climb back up. If you have physical limitations, injuries, etc., it might be challenging.

It was a challenge to do the 241 steps plus but I did it.
Our guide Borjas was excellent. He provided a lot of history, said jokes and was passionate about the Basque country. I learned a lot from him which I appreciate.

Going up San Juan De Gaztelugatze and having an amazing view. Very passionate tour guide. Amazing good value 3 course lunch for 15 euros at Bermeo.
It would have been good if the tour guide made a booking for the group to go into the Assembly house of Gernika as most didn’t manage to go in.

A great tour. Josu was an excellent guide and full of local stories. The three stops were well worth it. If anything my strong suggestion would be to reduce the time in Bermeo and give more time in Guernica. As a group we agreed to do it and Josu was accommodating, but I think Guernica and its rich history deserves a better visit. 2 two stops in the town provided by the tour do not give it justice.

We were hoping to learn a lot about Basque history and Borja did not disappoint. He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate. The coastline at Gaztelugatxe is beautiful and the historical town of Gernika very impactful. We could not have hoped for better on this tour.

Great trip. Jesu was our guide and he had an extensive knowledge of the basque region and he is very proud of his heritage. His English was a little difficult to understand at times but he would clarify when we asked if he could repeat it. The first stop was San Juan de Gaztelugatxe which was AMAZING! However we were not prepared for the walk down to the staircase.. it was very steep, long, and tiring. Not recommended for people with mobility problems! Bermeo was also lovely and we had a classic 3 course basque lunch for just 14 euro. Gernika was very informative as well. Overall, great tour

Excelente servicio por parte del guía, aprendimos mucho sobre la cultura y historia de Bilbao y sus alrededores. Todos los lugares eran súper bonitos y interesantes para visitar. Borja siempre respondió a nuestras preguntas con mucho conocimiento y pasión. También la furgo siempre aparcó muy cerca a los lugares de visita y Borja estaba muy atento a las necesidades de los clienteles como ir al baño. Como pareja inglesa-español, nos vino bien que Borja habla los dos idiomas aunque creo que puede hablar más claro en inglés (quizás un poco más lento). También sería guay usar imagenes con las explicaciones para dar más contexto. En cuanto a San Juan, nos encantó la visita pero era extraño que no comentó nada de Juego de Tronos como si no existiera. Podría ser una buena idea dar agua a los clientes o algún detaillito para recordar el viaje como un postal o una pegatina.
Excellent service from the guide, we learned a lot about the culture and history of Bilbao and its surroundings. All the places were super nice and interesting to visit. Borja always answered our questions with a lot of knowledge and passion. Also the van was always parked very close to the places we visited and Borja was very attentive to the clients' needs such as going to the toilet. As an English-Spanish couple, it was good that Borja speaks both languages although I think he could speak more clearly in English (perhaps a little slower). It would also be great to use pictures with the explanations to give more context. As for San Juan, we loved the visit but it was strange that he didn't comment on Game of Thrones as if it didn't exist. It might be a good idea to give water to the customers or a little souvenir to remember the trip like a postcard or a sticker.
