Great experience for dog sledding in Yellowknife. Highly recommend booking, it's a family-run operation and home to 36 dogs which are very well-cared for and trained. Winter and River are great guides and you're guaranteed to have a blast!

This involved a 20 minutes sled ride, watching the harnessing, but little interaction with the dogs. We were able to cuddle some puppies, though.

T this is a fun and safe activity for all members of the family. The dogs are very sweet and the people friendly and kind. Our concern was with the welfare of the dogs as we asked a couple of pointed questions about their weight and health and the questions were averted. The dogs seemed a little on the thin side to us.

"Not fat or mushy" please google search dog sled pictures "Non advertisement / real pictures and also dog derby pictures which will clear a lots of doubts. We only work with the small suppliers where dogs are family as seen in lots of previous reviews. Hope this helps

I had a wonderful time meeting the family running this business, their dogs, and learning a bit about dog sledding. It is clear they care deeply for their dogs' well-being, and put the safety of the dogs first when making decisions about tours. I visited during unseasonably warm temps, and as a result some changes were made to the path our ride took and the number of dogs pulling the sled was increased to reduce the strain on the dogs. I also appreciated that they were willing to cancel tours if it wasn't safe for the dogs. It was comforting to know that these dogs were so well cared for. I enjoyed swapping stories about hunting and trapping while sharing some bannock and hot chocolate after the ride, and the dogs were all extremely friendly and clearly loved their work as much as they loved the attention they get from tourists.

We would have given this a 5 had it not been for problems with the booking and a need to come back on another day. Having said that, they did correct the confusion and our driver Lucy was exceptional in accommodating all the changes. The cabin, the mushers and the dogs were wonderful. The dogs were so friendly and loved their work and the people they worked with. The staff were friendly and informative and the snacks were home made and delicious.

The dogs were barking as they were excited to get working. All dogs were very friendly and knew and enjoyed their job. The musher and all others were very nice, informative and friendly. We had a great time.

This was a wonderful excursion. The gentleman that picked us up was lovely. He was very knowledgable. The snow dog venue was great. Individualized. You get the opportunity out to ride and drive both. Would definately recommend.

The company was great~ picked up at the hotel on time, had plenty room in the car, and the dog sledding experience was great xd cute dogs. It’s freezing cold tho so be sure to bring gloves and wear hats/etc. would recommend this tour/company to everyone else. They even drop us at the place we want at the end of tour for free!

The best part is that I could be a musher and stand behind the sled to kind of control the dogs💕💕
I went to the other dog sled place which had four of us cram together in a sled. I couldn't sit straight which was a terrible experience.

集合時間の確認メールを送っても返信来なかった。最終的にはViatorのヘルプデスクに依頼してやっと確認できた。
・少人数でも後方だと満足度は低い
他のレビューを見て少人数ツアーが良いとみて申込み、4人での犬ぞりツアーだった。一番後ろだと、写真・動画とる時にかなり頑張らないと、犬が入らない＆前の人が映り込んでしまって残念だった。ツアーの途中で前後入替するか、追加料金で先頭オプションや2人でのツアーなど選択肢があると良いと思った。
・ツアー後の待ち時間
送迎オプションは別会社に委託しているのか連携が悪い。結局ツアー終わってから送迎車到着まで45分かかった。
さらに、同ツアーの他の参加者は送迎なしだったが、オーナーが我々のドライバーに強くプッシュして帰りに我々の送迎車に同乗させられた（我々には確認なし、ドライバーは車が大きくないのでと断ったがオーナーに押し切られる形に）ツアーに満足できていなかったのでより不快感が残った。
少し割高だけど少人数のツアーだから申し込んだが、結局は参加人数と自分の座る位置にかなり満足度が左右されるのでここで申込む必要はないと思いました。特に日本人は日本語サービスもある他の大手のツアーに参加する方がより完成されたツアーになっていて楽しめると思います。

Dear Sir, Your tour was confirmed when paid and accepted so we don't know what "other" confirmation you were waiting for ? The tour could be 4 people or you could have told us in well advance you wanted a 2 people sled and we wouldn't have accepted your booking. FYI: as per your review Japanese people should book with the other operators and we wish to let you know other places take you in a banana boat (7 to 8 people in the same sled) max people we take only 4 people. Yes, you must wait until after the tour. The tour is "not" finished yet, the tour is 1.5 Hrs. We "don't just put you in the sled and bring you back after the sled" This is a complete tour as per the description - Dog sledding & warming up in the cozy cabin - history and culture knowledge information and hot chocolate. The tour is not just the dog sled. You booked for a dog sledding "tour" After the dog sledding there is history and storytelling while warming up in the cabin which you were not interested It seems like from your review however tour is 1.5 Hrs and can you please mention the total time of this tour? after we drop you off and pick you up it is exactly 1.5 hours which means 1 hour and 30 minutes so what is your issue here please elaborate to us so that we can understand. Did something not align with the tour description ? should we shorten the tour ?

This is why you came back to write this review with Yellowknife Vacations and You were sitting in Yellowknife Vacations vehicle, not in a taxi.
Did you book private transportation ? "no" nor we offer private transportation. The tour description clearly says "Not Private". Any car in the world has at least 5 seats and this day as well we used one of our company vehicles GMC Terrain had 5 seats, 1 for the driver and 4 seats for the 4 guests.
Yellowknife Vacations "Manager" drove you this day on the 14th of February for your dog sledding tour and brought you back.
You book through Yellowknife vacations and we Pick up and drop off or our supplier directly picks up and drops.
We understand you did not like this overall tour which is a "tour" not just doing the sled and coming back however 100% of the guests loved this small family owned tour and cozy dog sledding tour with warm beverages, history and storytelling and transportation, Hope you can book with the big company as per your wish and join a big company tour which is only a dog sled and not an actual tour in Yellowknife, we request please come back to let us know your experience with the other company as well.

Todos fueron muy amables, pasaron a tiempo por nosotros y conocimos todo el campamento, donde tienen a los perritos, y como los cuidan, y eso nos dio mucho gusto, el paseo en el trineo con los perritos, fue maravilloso y tuvimos oportunidad de hacer el paseo y fue maravilloso, luego nos dieron chocolate que nos suba muy rico

Fue perfecto, la familia que hace los paseos fueron súper amables y cálidos. Los perros están en perfectas condiciones y están felices de correr, no podían con la emoción y las vistas en el recorrido fueron hermosas.
