Travel to a snowmobile lodge for a briefing on snowmobile handling and safety, then get fitted with a helmet. With a backcountry guide to lead the way, this tour is a good fit for even first time riders, and you can practice handling the snowmobile before you hit the trail.

Climb aboard the snowmobile, revving the engine as your trace wintry trails into the forest, watching for ptarmigans, snowshoe rabbits, fox, and lynx between the trees.

You’ll get a glimpse of the wild landscapes that extend from Yellowknife across the Northwest Territories, and pass lakes frozen over until the upcoming spring thaw. And the end of your ride, return to the snowmobile for a hot drink, then meet the driver for transfer back to your hotel.
