We provide free tour pick up and drop off service from your hotel or B&B. The aurora tour pick-up time is around 9 pm to 10 pm. We will inform you the exact pick up time between 4:30 pm to 6 pm through email on the tour date (Night Tours), or the day before (Day Tours). Or you could meet us at the nearest hotel (Explorer, Days Inn, Capital Suite, Chateau Nova, and Quality Inn) from your BnB. However, it means you will need to find your own way back to the accommodation from tour. The above listed hotels and B&Bs are in our free pick up zones.

Even with a cloudy night the guide was able to find some breaks in the clouds. We were able to catch some faint glimpses of lights. Unfortunately it was a weak aurora night.

I have been on three Northern Lights tours in Yellowknife and this was the worst. I think this is the best tour for those who want to hear stories about local customs and manners as the guide is a local. On the other hand, I would not recommend this tour as a northern lights tour. First of all, they rarely took pictures. Moreover, they did not send us any of the photos they took because they were “busy” (It has been at least 5 days since the tour ended and I have not received the photos.) Other tours have sent photos on the same day, so I have to say that the service is poor. Next, as for the service in the car, there are no snacks. And we didn't even get a cup of hot drink, just a couple of sips. Lastly, we met early (in the light of day) and finished early, so the chances of catching the lights were less than other tours. The reason why I still give it a middle rating is because we had an amazing aurora that day.
イエローナイフでは３つのオーロラツアーに参加しましたが、その中では一番微妙でした。ガイドが現地の方なので現地の風俗や風習に関して話を伺いたい方にはベストなツアーだと思います。一方で、オーロラツアーとしてはお勧めできません。まず、写真をほとんど撮ってくれません。さらに、「忙しいから」という理由で撮った写真も全く送ってくれません（少なくともツアー終了後５日目ですが手元に届いてません）。他のツアーはその日のうちに送ってくれているのでサービスは悪いと言わざるをえないです。次に車内サービスですが、スナックはないです。さらに温かい飲み物もコップ１杯ももらえません。2,3口くらいです。最後に集合時間ですが、明るいうちから集まって早めに終わるのでチャンスが少ないです。それでも評価が中央なのは、その日ものすごいオーロラが発生したためです。

They don’t have cabin and tent, but it doesn’t matter, you are here to see the aurora not to sit down in a tent or cabin, they offer FREE professional photo, and will be sending the very next day by email, aurora hunting is to drive around to avoid the cloudy day and to find the best spots to see the aurora, we saw aurora the first time in our life with the most professional guide who is a local grew up in Yellowknife, Joe can tell you about aurora more than Google, yes, and I am not joking! Their ride is comfortable, small group, which is important, crowds will make your experience less fun, we came here to avoid crowds too and of course to see the most stunning aurora in our life, We had a great time!

It's rated one of the highest northern light tours here but I think it's ok. I joined 3 different northern light tours offered by 3 different companies. Each tour is rated 4.5+. This one is not the best I had for sure. The driver and the tour guides are nice. Pickup was on time. They had hot chocolate and cookies. They took us to different locations to see the lights and took pictures for us. However, they never shared the pictures even though I sent multiple emails.

Very unfortunately the bus broke down and needed repairs and was not fixed before our tour which was cancelled. The company was excellent in informing us, keeping us up to date and quickly refunding our money. For this reason I can not really rate the tour. But certainly disappointing having come all that way to see auroras. That night was overcast so even if there had been auroras, we would not have seen them. I carefully chose Yellowknife because of the good chance of seeing them, but also recognize auroras can’t be ordered up like a good meal. Great little funky town. Was happy to have visit it.

Our guide and driver brought us to the best area for viewing. The Aurora was shy at first, then subtle. Other tours arrived at our location and we departed to be treated to a spectacular winter Aurora show that the other tours missed.
North Star Adventures is the best tour to go with, they follow the Aurora and not the schedule. Their method gave us the best show of the evening.
Our guide Brendan and driver (I'm sorry I don't remember her name) were fantastic! We look forward to the pictures Brendan took of us on our adventure.

This was by far the best Aurora tour I took in Yellowknife! Joe has a passion for the aurora and local indingeous culture. He makes sure to get everyone included in the action and also takes several professional quality photos of each guest! The best part is that you’re hunting for the aurora instead of just sitting in a cabin while your tour guides watch videos. He’s on the bus with you talking about why and where the northern light happen.

Our Aurora Hunting Tour witrh North Star Adventures was an unfoegettable experience. Our dreams of Aurora have come true, even if the geomagnetic conditions were not very good.
Joe knows the best places outside the city to search for the lights. He is very professional and also he has the ability to share informations about the culture of his people. I recommand this company.

Sorry Im not good with names but a tour guide(Chinese lady) and driver were absolutely amazing. She was very professional, energized and had a good vibes. We missed aurora two days before and last day with north star adventure. We finally saw the lady. Soon as arrived spot. She deplane and check if shes there or not with her equipment and let us know. She tried to find stronger lady for us. And everything worked out so well.

オーロラツアーはこのツアー１択だと思います。そう思えるくらい最高のツアーです。ツアーガイドのJoeはイエローナイフの先住民なので、イエローナイフのことを知り尽くしています。そのため天候を見て、その夜一番綺麗にオーロラを見えるスポットに連れていってくれます。またJoeはとても陽気で、フレンドリーでツアーの間ずっと楽しませてくれます。さらにツアー中にイエローナイフの歴史などイエローナイフについて知りたいことを何でも教えてくれます。僕は天候が悪く１週間滞在しても結局オーロラは見れませんでしたが、Joeに出会えたからこそこの旅をしてよかったなと思えています。それくらい最高のガイドです。オーロラツアー以外にもお昼のツアーもやっているみたいなのでそちらでもJoeのツアーを利用することをおすすめします。
