Itinerary

Your tour begins outside of Warsaw’s Palace of Culture and Science at 10:30am, when you’ll greet your guide and board a retro-style bus destined for the infamous Praga district.

During the short journey over the Vistula River, your guide provides a historical introduction to the district, formerly an independent metropolis. Stop first at a 19th-century chocolate factory to sample a cup of hot chocolate and then learn about the radical transformation of the Kamionek neighborhood as you explore its hip bars and cafes.

The next stops are the streets of Brzeska and Stalowa, replete with colorful murals depicting Poland’s history and political climate. See, too, the former black market of Różycki’s Bazaar, where customers could buy forged documents, and visit a former vodka factory.

Finally, learn about the mysteries behind an area known as the Praga Bermuda Triangle, full of scenic courtyards and pre-war architecture. From here, you’ll return to your original departure point at the Palace of Culture and Science.

Enjoyed my tour and...

Enjoyed my tour and riding in the retro bus. The chocolate tasting was very good as well even in the warm weather, I enjoyed it.

The guide was great,...

Denisa_T, Jul 2025
The guide was great, funny and knowledgeable. The experience itself wasn’t that great because of a large group of american tourists that were being very loud and drinking on the bus. We also had to rush through our stops quite a lot, which I assume was in part because of that same group that were late.

Great tour with an excellent guide

Nanette_P, Jul 2025
This was a fun and unique way to see Praga. Our guide was excellent! We had a typical complainer at the beginning of the tour (there seems to be one in every group) and the guide handled it so well. He made sure it didn’t affect the rest of us and even managed to get the complainer to come around by the end of the tour. Word of advice - do not be disappointed if your group is small and you take a smaller bus. You’re getting a small group tour at a great deal. The smaller group was so much better.

Interesting tour on a vintage bus

Heather_T, May 2025
This was a really nice tour. I wouldn’t say it’s a dark side in the traditional sense of but gives an overview of the Praga district. Our guide was fantastic and injected humor where he could and did a good job of explaining how WWII and Communism are still ever present in the rebuilding of Warsaw. The bus was fun to ride on and a slice of history. At one point the battery got cold so some of the guests had to give a little push which made for an extra interesting moment.

The other Praga

Konrad was a really good guide. It was different, able to see an area of Warsaw you may not be able to get to normally. Enjoyable. Not too dark though!

Very highly recommend

I very highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in the history of Warsaw. This tour goes places no other tour goes to get a feel for the real life of this city from WW2 and beyond.

Our English speaking tour...

Our English speaking tour was great fun thanks to the knowledge, experience and humour of our guide Marcin. We got lots of facts and amusing personal anecdotes about life under the iron curtain whilst driving through Warsaw, as well as during the stopping points of the tour. Highly recommended by our group of four from London. Thanks Marcin!

Worth exploring

Corina_H, Nov 2023
Interesting side of Poland worth exploring. The guide is good at explaining. Wish the exhaust for the bus can be better managed.

A work in progress

Bob_F, Jul 2022
The wall murals, the bus, the hot chocolate, the vodka factory complex, walking through a neighborhood in transition.

Really brilliant experience, well worth the money

Iwona_F, Jun 2022
Paweł, our English speaking tour guide was absolutely brilliant. He was very knowledgable story teller. My husband and I had a great time learning about history of Warsaw. We really enjoyed the trip, which was educational but also fun. Great value for money, would definitely recommend it to anyone who visits Warsaw.

Highly recommended!

Attention was paid to ensure I had my own English interpreter who was wonderful. I came to to visit my friend who lives in Warsaw and took her along on this tour. She enjoyed it thoroughly and learned things she hadn’t known about her own city. She enjoyed it so much that she is taking her family on the tour. Highly recommend!

If you're considering this...

If you're considering this, definitely do it! The retro bus gives a great feel, the tour covers some interesting spots including the best hot chocolate you'll ever taste straight from the factory. Our english speaking guide was knowledgeable and friendly, and made sure the Polish narration over the speaker was not too loud so we could hear him just fine. Great tour.

Fascinating excursion to Praga (Warsaw)

Robbert_v, Aug 2025
The guide told fascinatingly about the history of Poland (general) and also about the Praga district. I found the time during the trips very short.

Buona opzione per un tour alternativo

Alessio_C, Aug 2024

Konstantin_H, May 2024
