Silver jewelry making is an age-old Balinese craft that's vital to the island’s rural economy. On this private tour, try out the art coached by a silversmith at a traditional village workshop. What To Expect
If you’ve opted for a tour with pickup from your Ubud area address—extra charges apply for pickup from elsewhere—your driver collects you and brings you to the silversmithing village of Delodsema, where your course begins.
Sip tea or coffee and nibble on Balinese snacks as your teacher shows you some jewelry samples to inspire your creativity. If you already have your own idea for a design, your teacher will help you sketch it out and bring it to fruition. If not, build on one of the samples that you like.
Your package includes 0.25 ounce (7 grams) of silver, but you can buy extra silver and stones if needed. Your teacher will help you implement your design, using techniques from hammering and soldering to engraving and cutting, and if there’s time and silver left you can create another piece.
A range of optional add-ons are available to book: an all-terrain vehicle (ATV or quad bike) tour, a cooking class, a village visit, a sightseeing tour, and a tour by retro Volkswagen Safari. These may happen before or after your silversmithing class.
Unless you’ve chosen the class without pickup, you return to your Ubud address at the end of your activities.

We had a great time. The attention to detail from the three lovely young men who worked with us ( 6 middle aged women with no experience) was outstanding - as was their patience. It was definitely worth the drive. We were the last group booked in for the day and they gave us so much additional time to make sure we finished our pieces. The value for money was undeniable.

My husband and I chose to do the silver making class & coffee plantation/rice terraces tour. Olen picked us up at our hotel and brought us around in his car. Olen was wonderful & super knowledgeable. He explained to us the process with the rice terraces, making rings, and also any questions we had about Bali!
The silver making class was so cool! We loved the idea of making something and using it in style; so making rings was on our list of things to do. The people helping us were so helpful and kind, showing us specifically on what to fix on our rings, helping us shape, file, and clean our rings. This tour was so great, we highly recommend adding this tour on your list!

I combined the silver jewellery making class with a farm cooking class and the best day out while in Ubud. My day started with a tour around the local food market before going to the cooking class where I meet up with the rest of the group. We were shown around the farm and were asked to pick some produce to use in our cooking. We made 2 entrees, 3 main courses and one dessert. With the vegans and vegetarians making different dishes. After lunch my driver took me to the silver making class. I had already decided I wanted to make a pair of earrings but still had enough silver to make a ring as well. I throughly enjoyed the process of making these pieces and will have something special that I made to remember my trip.

Very cool experience, and you get a nice piece of jewelry at the end of it. You get the option of making a ring (most popular), pendant, a bangle, or earings, and they are willing to work with you on the design (and let you know if it's too ambitious)

We had a great afternoon in this silver making class! The drive from Ubud is around 40mins but quite scenic and the area didn't feel touristy. We got to choose the design of our jewelry in the beginning and then had one staff per person guiding us during the whole process and they turned out really beautiful! Would definitely recommend! The place there was also very nice.

Fun experience making jewelry! The staff was friendly and professional. They also helped us make the perfect rings (it's harder than it looks!). I will say there are some mosquitos since it's in a more rural area, but they had bug spray for us which was nice.

One of my favorite activities we did in Bali. If you are looking for a different experience and a cool souvenir to take home from your trip this is the place! it was so interesting and fun to see the process of making the ring from start to finish. The workers were so helpful and made sure our rings turned out beautiful. I also appreciated how they made sure we got to utilize all our silver. My one friend was able to make 5 rings!
