Good jewellery workshop. Bad tour company

First of all, I have to split the review into 2 parts to be fair. The silver jewellery workshop was excellent. The host and his family were super kind and patient to teach me. In the end I made two rings from design to finish in 2 hours. It was incredible! However, the booking company contact wasn’t that responsive and nice. I booked my time at 9am and he messaged me if I can go earlier. I told him I had to prepare for check out that morning, so I couldn’t go earlier than this. Then he totally disappeared, no response on the message conversation. At around 11pm at night before the trip, then he finally said it’s confirmed. This is not a responsible way to let customers hang in the air and not sure if the trip is good to go ahead. Also, although the driver was very kind and good at driving, but the pics he helped me take were out of focus, mostly because he couldn’t see the screen clearly. This one was really by luck if driver has good eyes or not. I’d definitely do the workshop with this jeweller again but not with this tour company because of the bad customer experience.

Fun and Great Experience.

Such great fun and would highly recommend. You can design your own jewellery or make something shown in a book of theirs. We got to make earrings, a pendant and a ring between the two of us. The ring was more involved due to the design I chose hence why I only make one item but that was my choice. We were offered coffee and tea, water and also had a wrapped pancake with coconut. Sorry i complete forgot the proper name for this but it was delicious. The class was very personal we were picked up by a driver and taken to the village. Other than a two other people whom had their own instructor it was just us. Would highly recommend to spend a few hours in the morning.

Underwhelming

Booking is so easy via Viator! We were picked up by our driver Ketut and taken to the Class. We were both expecting to be shown how the silver is melted and made into workable pieces before starting our very own. However, this was not the case. Despite the class not meeting our expectations, the staff were friendly and were on hand to help. I would recommend having a design in mind prior to attending the class so that you can start your piece straight away. The class says it is 3-4 hours. We spent only 50 minutes making 2 pieces.

The craftsmanship of the workers and the experience was next to nothing I’ve ever experienced before. It was such an amazing time. We all got to make numerous rings and had some refreshing snacks. It was a very informative experience and a lot goes into silver making.

De gastheer geeft eerst een fijne uitleg en daarna mag je zelf een ontwerp maken. Ze laten je praktisch alles zelf doen. Het is geen “kijk workshop” waar je uitleg krijgt en zelf niets mag doen. De ontvangst is zeer fijn en hartelijk. Een aanrader. En een leuke armband voor mijn dochter en mezelf als aandenken…
