A waterproof outer layer is a must for starters. The emphasis was more on fishing than touring fjords, to hopefully provide at least one caught cod for the fish chowder the captain prepares on board. On this 3 hour tour you basically cruise Tromso’s harbor. Nevertheless, the scenery is spectacular despite it being essentially dark on a January afternoon.

Our fishing tours do place a stronger emphasis on **coastal fishing and the onboard experience** rather than long fjord cruising. The goal is to give guests an authentic taste of local sea fishing and, when conditions allow, catch fresh cod for the fish soup prepared on board. In January, with limited daylight, routes are naturally adjusted for safety and fishing conditions, which means the tour often takes place in and around Tromsø’s harbor area. Even so, we’re glad to hear you still found the scenery spectacular — the Arctic winter light has a special atmosphere of its own. Thank you again for your balanced feedback. My family and I had an incredible experience on board. Skipper Per was extremely professional and kind. We managed to catch a few cod and enjoyed the freshest, most delicious fish soup. Even though the weather wasn't ideal for sightseeing, Skipper Per made the trip fulfilling by sharing his passion for the area and telling us Norwegian folk stories. My 9-year-old son says it was the best activity of our trip to Tromsø. It was a welcome break from our city life in Singapore. The boat is stable, clean and well mantained. There is a toilet on board. Light refreshments including hot beverages were provided. Overall we rate it 5 out of 5. Highly recommended

The tour was a lot of fun. We actually caught several fish that were processed into soup right away. The guide was very helpful. The way back was very unsettled with suddenly strong waves. You have to be seaworthy.
