Meet your guide in Old Town Toronto and set off on foot through the historic streets that trace the city’s 19th-century roots. Follow the scent of freshly brewed coffee to your first stop, to hear how Toronto’s working-class history shaped its cafe culture. Then, step inside St. Lawrence Market, a local landmark for more than two centuries. Sample the city’s signature peameal bacon sandwich and learn how a local pharmacist created Canada Dry during Prohibition.
As you stroll through the Market District, bite into a classic butter tart—Canada’s most beloved sweet treat—and listen to stories of cholera outbreaks, social reformers, and waves of immigrants who transformed Toronto into the diverse metropolis it is today. Your guide brings the city’s history to life through its food, connecting every flavor to the people who made it possible.

Kieran was an excellent guide. I learned a lot about Toronto and enjoyed some amazing beer while at it!

This tour combines a good bit of history of Toronto with a chance to visit a unique pub in Old Town and a local brewery in the Distillery District and sample a variety of Ontario beers. We also spent some time in St. Lawrence Market and learned so much about its history and present-day operations. I did this tour with my 20-year-old son, and he had a great time as well. Our guide, Dave, was perfect: well-versed in Toronto history, a true beer aficionado and, most importantly, a real pleasure to spend an afternoon with. We highly recommend this tour!

Kieran was an absolute delight to take a tour with. He was personable, knowledgeable, and recommended great beers.
I do wish the beer tour had more stops as was many other beer tours I've taken in the past, but that's to no fault of Kieran who did their best to provide with company limitations.
For the record, the beers you do get to sample are all great beers in their own rights.

Kieran was outstanding. The tour was the perfect mix of history and beer. We saw parts of the city that we would have never visited. We had a blast.

Had a great tour with Kieran! He was fun, knowledgeable, & we learned a lot about Toronto & its history. 2 excellent breweries for flights. Great stories as well. Highly recommend!!

Royden adapted the tour very nicely, since I was the only one on the tour I got to give my I input in how the tour is structured, very knowledgeable and friendly. Great conversations!

I was lucky enough to be the only person on the Beer Tour! This meant Dave, my guide, and I had lots of time to chat about the history of the city, beer and sport. I'd actually already done a few other tours - which covered some of the topics Dave did - but he was able to add to it. So, it was a great balance!
We went to two great bars - where I sampled 6 smaller beers - and it was a great warm up for the Maple Leafs Fanzone I attended in the evening. Thoroughly enjoyed it!!

We had a great time! Many laughs and opportunity to learn more about the city. Would recommend to anyone that is interested in learning more about the city and what locals like to do around Toronto! Our tour guide was very funny!

Enjoyed learning the proper method for tasting beer. Jason was a knowledgeable tour guide. We felt like there was a little too much time between tastings because of the Christmas Market, but enjoyed the 2 places we visited

Tour was super informational. Our guide Dave was super knowledgeable and easy going. I would definitely recommend this to friends or any first time travelers

Dave is a great host. He set a good pace & kept the conversation flowing. Enjoyable time with a small group. Not a great option for a rainy day though.

Jordan is a knowledgeable guide who literally wrote the book about craft beer and as a Toronto native he knows a lot about the city as well.
Melinda_M, Jul 2022
My husband and son went on this and they loved it. They said that their guide was amazing. It's both beer and a city tour in one.
Christina_P, Jul 2022

Had the best time on our tour! Great beer and loved Mike. Went to places my friend, who has lived in Toronto for 10 years, has never visited. Would 100% recommend, although we may have traumatized our poor tour guide 😂

Had a great day in Toronto starting with the Toronto beer tour lead by Mike our tour guide and historian. Great information about the history of Canada and Toronto while drinking craft beer at C'est What, Betty's, the St.Lawrence Market and Mill Street brewery. Mike was very enthusiastic and entertaining a great tour guide.
Gary T, Aug 2019
Sam was most entertaining and informative, a good time was had by all 5 of us I believe. Shw had aa impressive beer knowledge.
Shari_V, Aug 2019
If you want to try a bunch of different beers, this is not the right tour for you. We had three stops and got three beers and then sat there. He also spoke negatively about Canada. If he was Canadian, it could be seen as self-depreciating, but instead it was insulting. I was not impressed.

Mike was our tour guide and we ended up being the only 2 on the tour. Mike took the time to get to know us and helped us to choose beers that fit what we liked. He shared a great deal of information about the city and introduced us to different people at the different pubs. A great time and very informative.
