Quirky shoe history

Karen_N, Sep 2025
Interesting short visit, allow about 45 mins. Well presented museum, one of the displays under renovation so not open. Staff friendly and helpful.

Great history lesson

The history of the shoe was the best part of the museum for me Really not that big a museum and best to go when school groups are not there

SO worth the visit!!

Every single aspect and content was memorable!! Loved it all ! Very educational and was a wonderful trip down memory lane for us seniors.

Fun time

This was a great place to visit. You wouldn’t think there’s a lot to learn about shoes but that’s where you’d be wrong. The way how the exhibits were structured was amazing. My mother and I took a journey through time and saw how far shoes have progressed. The cultural and religious impact in their creation is something I didn’t know but now I do. Definitely worthwhile and it doesn’t take much time to get through each exhibit.

Enlightening and delightfull

The information about the pieces and acknowledgement of the artisans and collaborators makes it far more than a display of artifacts, particularly for the Indigenous pieces. Loved the ‘80’s exhibit too!

Clever

This was such a great experience. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Very clever and fun displays. Even the outside of the building is clever

Great little museum! Loved the '80's section, it was like a walk through my high school days. We spent about 90 minutes walking though, interesting collection of shoes.

If you like art, fashion and need inspiration, this is the place for you

I really like the museum. The displays were intricate and unique. There are four floors of history and unique styles. This museum is inspirational for all that like art, fashion and need inspiration.

I will think about the shoes I am wearing

Your education speaker came to our Brampton Probus. She is an excellent speaker and excited me to return to the museum. I brought my friend for her 75 the birthday. We enjoyed the experience. The lady at the front desk assisted us with getting your recorded talk . She also was able to find the tickets I that I purchased ahead of our visit. Thank you for a wonderful experience

Short and interesting.

The great divide….. and the sneaker. Was surprise there was no memorabil in gift store with the word “BATA” on it so I only purchase a small magnet. Wanted buy a mirror and purse but no BATA.

We purchased these tickets because the description listed exhibits featuring shoes owned by celebrities/cultural figures such as Madonna, Marilyn Monroe, Elton John and the Dali Lama. None of these shoes were on display. So we were disappointed.
