We were a small group and it was a good walking tour through Old Toronto. Alex was our tour guide and I was glad she encouraged conversation within the group. She had a book with photos that helped visualise the history of the locations we went to.

Great Tour well worth it

Great tour and very enjoyable. There’s a lot of walking in 2 1/2 hours but saw lots of things and our guide was very informative and happy to answer any of our questions. It really is a great way to see a city and to see the sites from the ground.

Could have been great

I received a message at 9:30am on the day to inform me that as they have not met the minimum number of required people for the tour, it may be cancelled and I will be contacted to be informed whether it is cancelled or not. I didn’t receive any futher communication so I understood that the tour was to go ahead. I checked my spam folder and there was nothing there too. I made my way to the meeting spot and met with another person there who was waiting for the tour. I contacted Toonie Tours at 2:02 to ask them if the tour was going ahead but received no response. I cannot ring the number either as it does not accept calls. We waited for 15 minutes and no tour guide showed up. They finally responded 2.5 hours later to say they had technical difficulties and this is why no message was sent. They said I can rebook and I said no because I already had plans/other things booked. I’ve asked for a refund but am yet to receive a proper response. It’s a shame because I was really looking forward to the tour and learning about Toronto and its history.

Not for kids and too much talking not enough walking

It’s not really a kid friendly tour. I was expecting a walking tour even if it was 3 hours but we barely walked at all in the first 2 hours. On top of a delay to start first stop was over 30 minutes and it literally took almost 2 hours to get thru the first 4 stops. The tour guide, although friendly, took soooo long at each stop with an exordinary amount of information that honestly was long-winded and boring. I love history and walking tours but this was too much. My kids and I left after two hours as I don’t know how he would have gotten to 10 more stops in the last hour. Our legs and backs were killing us so bad by then and it was unfortunate because I wanted to give my kids a good history lesson of the city. Wrong tour for that. We had to get an Uber back too as we didn’t know where we were. Unfortunate as I’ve gone on some great tours before in other big cities.

3 hour walking tour with Joel

It was my second time visiting Toronto and had some spare time so decided to book a 3 hour walking tour. I have taken walking tours before so I knew what I was signing up for - Alot of walking, possibly not alot of sitting. Come prepared with water to stay hydrated possibly some snacks if you're a snacker like me. We had a break after 2 hours by the toronto sign were I was able to buy some food and more water. I was traveling solo so Joel was more than helpful in taking amazing pictures of me by the Toronto sign (he's a great photographer). Joel was very informative and knowledgeable about toronto, it's history, architecture, and food places. Would 100% book again just to go for the walk !

Nice walking tour

It was a little rainy and when we got to the point to see the CN Tower it was fogged in. While our guide Henry was telling us about it we looked back up and the fog cleared enough for us to see it!

Don’t bother

Booked a 10 am tour approx 1 month before- this got cancelled at short notice but was rebooked on 10.30 am tour - on arrival at 10.30 tour this was cancelled due to insufficient numbers in attendance - as those who didn’t turn up had paid and therefore forfeited their payment I couldn’t understand why this had been cancelled- the tour guide in attendance gave us a mini one hour tour which was ok but not the 3 hour tour we had paid for - we felt the tour guide ( who was very good) was left with a difficult situation with a company that frankly didn’t care

Not fun but interesting

The walking tour was very nice and interesting. I am an amputee below the knee and when we present each other I said I will be slow and need to seat sometimes, but the guide was always walking very fast and everytime she stopped to talk she never consider to go closer to a bench or places where I could seat. I had to tell her it for 3 times. There were also old people agree with me and seat with me eventually.

This tips-based tour was great. We had a great guide who provided us with a constant stream of knowledge. It was quite a long walk for some (I believe it was around 7km in length). This was fine for us but for some people with less mobility, they would have found it a little long. This was not our first tips-based tour and certainly will not be our last! Thank you.
