Javi was amazing! He reached out the day before and since we were coming from Madrid, we had a plan to meet up at the train station in Toledo to start our tour. Unfortunatley, we missed out train. Javi turned what was a hectic morning into a beautiful day. Instead, we met him in town where he greeted us with a smile and warmth. Offering us just what we needed...coffee. It was just the 4 of us in our tour. As a local from generations of educators and tour guides, Javi is the guy you want touring you through Toledo. Our tour was focused on Jewish Heritage and Javi brought a wealth of knowledge and unique perspective to the history of the Jewish people in Toledo. He literally has the keys to the city! By the time the tour was over we felt like family. What a special day!

Daniel, our tour guide, had a deep historical perspective, which he was able to convey as we toured the city and focused on the jewish community that lived and thrived in Toledo until the ibeginning of the inquisition.

Sonia was indeed an expert guide, as well as being warm, friendly and funny. We feel fortunate to have spent three hours with Sonia. Her detailed information about the finer details of the synagogues and their histories, and the former Jewish community of Toledo, was enriching and entertaining. She was able to show us the cellar of a former Jewish house which would not otherwise have been accessible for us. Fortunately, we also took the option of Sonia meeting us at the train station and beginning the tour by taking a cab with her to a magnificent scenic viewpoint over Toledo, before proceeding to the Jewish quarter. And, because she knew we were interested in seeing Toledo's numerous El Greco paintings after her tour, she took us into Santa Tome and gave us an absolutely fabulous explanation of his Burial of the Count of Orgaz there. She also gave us helpful information for spending the rest of the afternoon in Toledo. Thank you so much, Sonia! A truly memorable tour, which we would highly recommend!

A complete experience- our guide Dani was knowledgeable and did everything to make the experience memorable. Little details like making sure we were hydrated on a hot day or walking in shade to avoid heatstroke were much appreciated.
Toledo is a must see tour if you want to learn about Jewish history in Spain!

Our Jewish Heritage Tour of Toledo was an unforgettable experience. Irene, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and brought the rich Jewish history of Toledo to life with deep insight, passion, and sensitivity. From the synagogues to the winding streets of the Jewish quarter, she shared powerful stories and historical context that made the experience both educational and deeply meaningful.
We also want to thank Javier, our driver, for getting us there safely and comfortably. The Mercedes van was clean, spacious, and refreshingly cool — a huge plus in the summer heat.
This tour was thoughtfully organized, historically rich, and beautifully delivered. We highly recommend it for anyone interested in learning more about Jewish history in Toledo.

This was a great day. Our guide Javi was prompt, personable, knowledgeable, patient, and professional. We enjoyed exploring Toledo with him. The pickup at the train station was convenient. It would be doable without it, but for not much extra money, we were able to pay for a ride, and the stops along the way for views were well worth it. Javi’s knowledge of history was impressive, and he was able to explain things in a way that was understandable. He also took us to a couple of fascinating places in the city underground that were locked, only certain tour guides have access, and we would not have been able to visit if we were walking around on our own. We had a great day and would recommend Javi to anyone who wants a tour of Toledo.

Daniel was our guide in Toledo and it turns out he's the guide who started the first Jewish history-focused tours of the area many years ago. His experience showed. He was terrific, fun, highly knowledgeable, and everything about our day with him was highly personalized to our interests, desires, and schedule.
Many tours of Toledo include transportation from Madrid. That can of course be easy and convenient but we liked that Daniel gives the option of booking with or without transportation. The train from Madrid is fast and inexpensive, and choosing to meet the guide in Toledo saved us a lot of money. After booking, Daniel contacted us and gave us the option of meeting him in the town or at the Toledo train station. We chose the latter, booking a 9:15am train from Madrid's Atocha station, and he was waiting for us when we got off the train in Toledo 1/2-hour later. Could not have been easier.
As for the tour itself, I can't recommend it enough. The history of Jews in Toledo is of course fascinating, and this tour includes plenty of context of Spanish history in general, including everything that led to the inquisition and ultimately the expulsion, death, or baptism of the Jewish population. Daniel's tour of the palace in Toledo is one I will not quickly forget.

One of the best days of our trip to Spain! No crowds. Sonia was AMAZING! She was so personable, knowledgeable, helpful. There are so many cathedrals and churches - this was a way to see another side of religion - cooperation as well as persecution, and learn history.
