This tour of the underside of Toledo was fascinating. We learned how each civilization built on the ruins of the one that came before. We learned how the Muslim architects helped to create most of Toledo. Our guide was knowledgeable about both history and the architecture of the city of Toledo, but current and ancient. We truly enjoyed this tour.

Loved this tour. The guide, Alberto, was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. If you are interested in history or archeology, I would highly recommend this tour. One of the best tours that we had during our Spanish adventure.

Cool, not cool

How could we resist a tour of underground Toledo? Roman, Muslim, Jewish and Christian baths and hidden spaces beneath the city were exactly the sort of adventure we wanted. Alberto felt like our own personal archaeologist, bringing the layers of Toledo’s history to life as we explored. Despite what we’d hoped, underground does NOT mean cool. There was no respite from the afternoon heat! Bring comfortable footwear, water and possibly a sweat cloth. A fascinating and unusual way to experience Toledo’s layered history. Very cool tour. Definitely not cool temperature.
