Very comfortable, nice guide, we got picked up on time and dropped off on time. Also learnt a lot as the guide was knowledgeable and looked after us really well.
Only thing was we felt one hour at Teide still felt short as it was very big to explore within an hour.
But very good tour if it’s your first time and want to get a quick taster to see a lot in half a day. So I would very much still recommend it :)

We booked this specifically as a small-group, guided daytime volcanic tour and had planned our day around it. The operator cancelled at the exact pickup time with no advance notice.
We were then offered a “stargazing” alternative over the phone, with very limited information. When I asked questions, I was told it was comparable and “the same time,” which was inaccurate. The original tour was a 4-hour daytime guided hike. The replacement was a 6-hour nighttime experience in near-freezing temperatures.
No details were provided through the booking platform. Instead, we later received a WhatsApp message advising us to bring gloves and winter jackets for 0°C conditions. We were on a beach holiday and did not have appropriate gear, which I had already explained to the operator.
Further, this was not a small-group experience. Reviews and information indicate these tours can involve very large groups (40–70 people), often with a restaurant stop and long periods standing in the cold. This is completely different from the guided daytime hike we booked.
I asked whether a comparable daytime option was available and received no response. I never confirmed acceptance of the alternative and did not participate in any tour. Despite this, the operator marked the experience as “redeemed.”
After the fact, I saw multiple reviews describing the same pattern: last-minute cancellations and being redirected into a different stargazing tour with larger groups and a different format.
Very disappointing experience and not what was advertised. I have requested a refund based on these circumstances and, at the time of writing, it has not been approved.

Thank you for your feedback. However, your review contains several inaccuracies that we would like to clarify.
The excursion was cancelled due to official road closures imposed by the authorities at the time. This was beyond our control, and we informed you immediately upon receiving the notice. Unfortunately, this information was not available in advance.
We offered you an alternative date as an option for the following day, not as an obligation. You confirmed and accepted this alternative at the time. The excursion itself remained exactly the same, with the only change being the date, as access was expected to reopen.
All relevant details and descriptions of our tours are clearly stated on TripAdvisor. We are transparent in our communication and have nothing to hide. Our consistent recognition as a Traveller’s Choice award recipient reflects the positive experiences of the vast majority of our guests.
Lastly, your cancellation was made at short notice and falls outside our cancellation policy.
We regret that you chose not to join us and wish you all the best.

We are giving it 2 stars because it was not what we paid for.
We paid a lot for a private tour and a memorable experience which did not deliver on its promise. The guide / driver was also guiding another tour group, which followed our car in another vehicle. As they were a sizeable group with many questions, he prioritised them over us. This has never happened to us before, and left us disappointed. Secondly, it was not a fully guided tour; we were given information in the car, some at drop-off points and left to walk around the sights by ourselves. Whilst the car itself and drive was fine, there was not even a courtesy bottle of water in it. Finally, the tour started 20 mins late with no response when we tried to contact them during this period, even though the start time was confirmed to us in writing 24 hrs prior. So essentially you are paying a huge price for a car, a generally informative and polite driver/guide, but NOT a private tour that’s feels exclusive or memorable.

Your feedback is not correct. This is a shame as misleading information is not what we expected from you.
The guide did not guide another group. It happens many times that when the guide starts explaining people in the area get interested and they might ask questions in general. The guide is polite enough to answer those questions. No need to feel as of the guide is not giving you attention. You might ask whatever you wish and the guide will answer.
When you book the excursion you should read how and what it includes before writing comments. Information is always given inside and outside the vehicle. It doesn't mean that the guide will be walking with you everywhere you go. It's nice to give people some free time to explore an area and go for a short hike.
Look at the reviews and you'll see how people loved it. Your expectations were different because you didn't read details of the experience.

I booked this tour having seen many reviews lauding the small group size. On the morning we were due to take the tour, the guide (Ossi) contacted us to say that the local government had decided to restrict traffic to Teide by tour vehicles, and offered us a stargazing tour on Mt Teide instead.
The tour guide did not inform us that this other tour would be with a much bigger group (c.50 people vs 8) or that most of the tour group would be having dinner at a restaurant where we were obliged to wait for an hour a third of the way up the mountain.
We were not offered the option of paying to have dinner with the other travellers and the restaurant refused to make a meal for us (likely due to pre-orders), offering only a small selection of pre-prepared starters and sides (unlike the other visitors who got 3 course meals).
The tour itself was, by contrast, excellently led by Ossi who is clearly enthusiastic about astronomy as well as Tenerife and Teide. The views were very beautiful.
I think what the substitute tour offered is a reasonable programme, but I also think informing us the alternative would be with a group many times the size, who had prepaid for dinner, which we would not be getting and would have to wait for, were elements of unfortunate tourist hustling. If we’d been given this info ahead of time it would have enabled us to make a proper decision about whether to continue, instead of a third of the way up Mt Teide and being told we could take a taxi down if we didn’t like it.

Excellent half day tour of Mt Tiede
Very comfortable coach. Small group ( 7 ) really enhances the experience.
Tour guide was excellent. Friendly, pleasent and very knowledgeable about the area. Well planned out route with a number of very intersting stop points. Plenty of time at the summit to take a walk and enjoy the stunning beauty of the area.

It was a nice ride to Teide and seeing the terrain. Unfortunately the english speaking guide was ill. The replacement was OK, but not well versed in englih som we did not get any overview or description for the sites, as we saw other tours getting. In addition the tour had 8 stops identified, we only stopped at four sites.

This excursion is NOT as advertised. Huge disappointment, was NOT GUIDED, the chauffeur spoke little to no english. Just dropped us off at the locations and that was it. We paid €65 per person for some information on all the scenery/history and all we got was a 3 minute audio tape in the car. We only had 5 stops while there are 9 on the itinerary? I would like a refund, could have driven this myself with our rental car, I feel scammed.

Visiting Teide is once in a life opportunity; a must do while visiting Tenerife. The tour guide “ Ozzie /Jose” was very knowledgeable of Tenerife’s history and mount Teide which he shared in an easy and understandable manner.

Trip got moved from what I originally booked on Wednesday to Tuesday then Thursday. Wednesday I had a call to say trip cancelled and would we like to do a vineyard and star gazing trip instead which we declined! Very disappointing! Too late to rebook anything and the only trip we had planned. Money was refunded without an issue though.

Unforgettable experience! Truly magnificent. Ozzie knew so much about the vulcanology of Tenerife (which was great for me as a geography teacher!) he took us through small towns and villages, we had plenty of short stops and a good hour by Teide to explore, visit the museum and take loads of photos. I’d 100% go again, as there were only 8 of us including Ozzie so it was a smaller more personalised tour. Ozzie also does stargazing tours which I wish we had booked! The whole trip lasted about 5 hours (10-15:00) so we had plenty of stops but it wasn’t a full day where we were exhausted by the end. I’d recommend bringing water/drinks. Wear suitable shoes as some tracks are uneven and you can climb the rocks for the view. I wore shorts and a tshirt in April. It wasn’t cold but we brought a jumper just in case. Bring sunglasses too. Don’t book another Teide tour, choose this one. Also Ozzie knows multiple languages and will explain everything!

Excellent half a day trip with some fantastic views and a great driver. Felt relaxed and comfortabe. Tasted some local wine along the way and enjoyed Teide park with lava and volcanic scenery. Next time will use the same service to go for star gazing experience in the nightime. Kids loved the experience as well and were super happy about the trip.

The tour might have been good had I been able to go on the tour that I booked. I was contacted the day before by the organizer of the tour saying that he was going to cancel the tour because my husband and I were the only ones signed up. I told him there were in fact another couple joining us. He said four people (mind you this is a small group tour) aren’t worth his time and then claimed the weather was going to be bad ( it was not). So I asked about the next day. He said we could join his tour the next days tour but it turned out to be a large group tour, possibly 40 people. We spent the first hour driving around picking people up. Then had a terrible dinner that we had to pay extra for, saw the sunset and then drove to the crater in the dark to see stars. Not the same or even similar tour that I initially signed up for! I’m sure the park is beautiful but I didn’t really see anything because it was dark. I understand that it was my choice to agree to do the tour but I felt he misrepresented what it would be.

Had a trip to Teide with Hans. He was very knowledgeable and had great info about the wildlife & local nature. It was good value for money and a beautiful sunset from above the clouds at the top of the mountain. Take a coat!
