We had an amazing experience on this small-group sailing trip! The boat was comfortable and not overcrowded, which made the experience feel very personal and relaxing. The highlight was, of course, seeing pilot whales in their natural habitat—such a beautiful and unforgettable sight.
Our captain was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the ocean and its wildlife. He made everyone feel welcome and went out of his way to ensure we had a great time.

Relaxing outing with Francisco who knows the landscape and is an expert in the water. There is time for quiet observation, learning, and experiencing. We enjoyed close up whale encounters, time at the cliffs, and a special lunch with fellow travelers.

Wonderful experience! We saw so many dolphins! Two different species including one rare migratory species. We also saw many whales! Was a great day.

In my over 40 years of traveling I have offered exactly 3 reviews and only when the service exceptional. This is the first time where I write to warn my fellow travelers to avoid abusive tour operators.
My wife (who is recuperating from stage 4 cancer ) and I booked this sailboat whale watching tour, operated by the captain/owner in the hopes of finding some peace, and tranquility on the ocean in the company of a smaller grupo. What we got instead was a breathtaking level of abuse that was extended to our group of 8.
I will sum it up: we were exactly 5 minutes late due to roadway construction and my wife, who boarded first, was verbally berated for our tardiness and because she did not move quickly enough to his liking in her weakened state. I came up behind him her and politely pointed out that we had call twice to alert him of our delay and that his protestations were understandable but that his tone and manner were not. No matter, I sad to my wife, we would make the best of a beautiful day.
Throughout the trip, he proceeded to ignore the entire group, which included a family with a 4 year old and a visibly pregnant mother. He blasted his music and smoked rancid cigarettes even though both the mother and child had become very seasick. When finally the entire group requested that he turn off the noise explaining that even the child had asked that it be done, he refused to do so and instead, he lowered the volume and growled: (and this is so unbelievably callous that I could not believe my ears) “there now, she looks much better” and gave the little girl a garbage bag to vomit into. The child was crying in distress and pushed his hand away from her. His disregard for her suffering was evident even to a child.
When it was time to eat, he laid out a stale assortment of unappetizing dried meats and withered fruit. Nobody ate. When he offered drinks, I requested water and he pointed to the ocean and said ”there’s plenty there”. There he came back with soda cans and lukewarm water for everyone.
He offered no commentary on the beautiful pilot whales we encountered, passing a one page laminated paper with information on the creatures. In fact he spent most of his time talking on his phone and very little of it concerned with the comfort and wellbeing of his passengers.
And we the passengers were all in agreement that the the location was beautiful, but that the service by this captain (no crew) was on the whole, a disaster.

Thank you very much for your comment. I must tell you that both you and your wife arrived at the boat 15 minutes late, while the other guests waited 25 minutes for the excursion to begin. Thanks to the kindness of the captain, who wanted to wait for you to arrive, he didn't even apologize to him or the other guests. You were given all kinds of explanations about the giants' environment, about the cetaceans, but you didn't even pay attention to these explanations, nor did it seem like it was your concern. The captain does everything possible to ensure you have a fantastic day. He provides you with all kinds of information, drinks, anything he can get his hands on. If you play music and it's a little loud, he's happy to turn it down. He didn't even have the kindness to look at that cardboard piece of information about the cetaceans that was provided to you. On the other hand, I don't know if you are a cigar smoker, since you refer to the captain as a smoker of stale cigars, but he is very respectful of not contaminating anyone. Regarding the food you're talking about, "stale," we also buy fresh products daily, and we don't compromise on anyone's health. I'm sorry that all of this was inconvenient on your part.

We had the most amazing time on the sailing boat. The excursion group consisted of my partner and me, 3 other passengers and Antonio. He was very knowlegdeable and provided us with lots of facts and information about the island, the sea and the whales. We saw a beautiful pod of tropical pilot whales and afterwards snorkeled in a place with beautiful fishes. The snacks provided were very nice. I really recommend this trip to others!

I really need to praise captain Francisco - after I got this trip off to a terrible start by dropping my phone into the marina, where it vanished from sight. He promptly dived down several metres to get it back for me. As customer service goes, I’d say he went far above and beyond what I could ever have expected, and he saved me a lot of money, time and trouble.
The trip itself was wonderful. Francisco is an excellent and friendly guide, keeping us well informed and prepare, finding us a large pod of beautiful pilot whales - and he was very informative about the marine life and the island in general. The “snacks” turned out to be a delicious light Canarian lunch. All in all, a great trip, and one I’d highly recommend.

The captain was very friendly and knowledgeable and he shared with us a lot of information about the whales. He also gave us tips about other places on the island that we should visit.
It was quite difficult to find a parking place in the area, so try to arrive a little bit early.

The captain does not care for his passengers. He will smoke next to your kids. Being the only non-spanish passengers we were contiously used as an easy target for poor jokes. These degrading jokes would primarily be made when I would leave my partner to grab something. Most of the trip was him talking to other boats and pointing at whales. The rest were Spanish conversations with Spanish passengers. Not worth it for non-spanish speakers.

I must tell you that the captain gives an explanation in both English and Spanish of what is going to be done during the 3 hours that the excursion lasts, as well as the surroundings of the different islands, the location of the Teide, the altitude of the cliffs, everything that is the Teno rural park, as well as explanations about whales and dolphins. He is attentive to all the passengers who come on board and makes everyone feel at ease and comfortable. The fact that he talks to other boats is normal because we are all in communication to find out where the animals are, since the search perimeter is very wide and it is a way of helping each other and so that you can observe them. The captain is a professional who has been dedicated to this job for many years and gives his best. He is at the complete disposal of anyone and does not discriminate against anyone. Smoking cigarettes on board, being on top of that a boat that is in the open air, I do not think it is a problem. It is not a closed place and even less an office. He is very respectful and tries not to bother anyone and I think you are not one to question whether he smokes or not, certainly not in front of children. I am very sorry that you did not like this experience.

Having had an incredible experience last time we were in Tenerife, we were nervous it wouldn’t live up to memory. However, it surpassed it. We loved having the peace and tranquility of a sailing boat out in the water. We saw whales and dolphins with the latter in a very playful mood around the boat. What added to the experience was the setting around Los Gigantes and the unique view you get of them from the water. Mesmerising experience!

The captain was amazing - knowledgeable, welcoming and most importantly fun. The sea was choppy but he managed to spot some pilot whales and direct the boat there, we got some amazing pictures and videos. The sailboat was a Bavaria 44 with only 10 people on board, therefore it felt like there was enough room for everyone. The snacks and drinks served were very good too.

The day was amazing. The waters were calm. The boat was perfect. We saw lots of dolphins but no whale- due to NYE party noise had moved them further out to sea. They are very sensitive to noise. The snorkeling was fun. Waters are amazingly dark blue and clear. Overall just a very lovely 3 hours!

We had a delightful day out with Viator, watching dolphins and even catching sight of whales! The boat comfortably held our small group of 8, creating an intimate and friendly atmosphere. The captain's warm hospitality and punctuality added to the experience. Lunch was a delicious treat of melon, assorted hams, and tortilla. We relished the opportunity to swim in the serene waters. The 3-hour trip was the perfect length. Highly recommend this excursion for anyone looking to enjoy nature and relaxation. A truly enjoyable experience!

A great experience off the Los Gigantes coast. A small group of 9 people on board a lovely boat.
Knowledgeable skipper took us to see pilot whales and dolphins. Later on we had an opportunity to swim and snorkel in the crystal clear waters at the mouth of a barranco in Los Gigantes cliffs.
I'd give 5 stars if there was any element of sailing but we used the engine all the way through.

Great experience. Lovely boat with a small group of 7 passengers. Skipper had good local knowledge and we were able to see pilot whales and dolphins. After a trip alongside the cliffs of Los Gigantes, there was also an opportunity for some snorkeling where we saw lots of marine life.
This was followed by a light and tasty spread of various snacks, before heading back to the port. Thoroughly enjoyable experience and great value for money.
