We enjoyed hearing about how Gelato was made and David was entertaining. However we thought we were going to make gelato ourselves when in fact we simply watched as it was made. Most of the group had a turn at one part of the process ( ie pouring lemon juice into the bowl) but not the whole process from start to end, which is what we had ( possibly mistakenly) expected. We were given a gelato at the end which was delicious- but the smallest portion in a cheap cone which was disappointing.

What a lovely way to spend the evening. The whole presentation was informative, easy to understand, and quite funny. I went with my 14 year old and she loved it. And the gelato is truly some of the best we’ve ever tasted.

The place was not correctly marked on the app, so we had to walk 10 minutts. Which normally would be okey but we were gonna be late and we had a person on crutches with us. On this app it says 2 hours. It isn't its like 35 minutts, we get to se how sorbet is made by a machine, and told facts about different types of gellato. Mario is a wonderfull storyteller, with a good english, but we were dissapointed because the description on the app made us imagine something else. Especially when the price is so stiff. This the most expensive icecream I have ever enten. The experience didn't match the price at all.

Mario gave a detailed demonstration on making authentic gelato. The whole experience was insightful, interactive and the best part was definitely tasting the gelato at the end.

This experience was really interesting. The owner (Mario) talked us through his family’s history of making gelato then there was a hands on demo of making lemon sorbet, which we got to taste. At the end you get 2 scoops of whatever flavours you want and it really is the best gelato ever! I’d read conflicting info on the length of this experience (one place said 1 hour, another said 2) - it was probably about 35 mins with Mario then however long it takes to eat the gelato.

Mario from Gallateria David was highly recommended from almost all locals we met! True statement and the class he teaches is an eye opener for making gelato properly, the Italian way and the scientific way! Would recommend highly for anyone looking to see what goes into making artisan gelato, the right way!!

What a fun quick tour to learn about an Italian treat from one of the best makers in Italy. The class taught us about how gelato is made, how to know if gelato is true and not artificial flavors or colors, but the gelato at the end was incredible. Mario is the owner of the over 60 year old multi generation establishment. Went into such interesting detail about all thing gelato, was funny, and made the tour so much fun.

Thoroughly enjoyed this experience, Mario was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. He was enthusiastic from the start and went into great detail about the art of making gelato and gave his own advice and tips to make your own at home. Experience included a guide to make a basic gelato (ours was fresh lemon), sample tasting and lots of learning! The event concluded with a signed certificate in gelato making complete with instructions on how to make it at home, Mario even left us his email so we could ask any question when we got home! There was also a complementary cone or tub of the gelato of your choice. Overall was a very refreshing experience and a joy to behold watching someone explain and teach skills and knowledge passed down from generations so passionately and with such witty humour.

We had a wonderful time at our class this afternoon in sorrento! It’s right around the corner from the bus/train station which is right in the center of the city center. His English is amazing and he is very funny! My friend had a very bad experience a couple of days ago with a nut allergy with her gelato at a different place and he made sure she felt extremely safe with the entire experience. The certificate is cute and honestly is the nicest gelato spot in sorrento !
