do not book if you only have one or two people in your party!! The website says it’s okay and they let you book and take your money but i was messaged saying it’s not possible the day of. over 5 hours before the tour i said i could have at least two more people join me. they waited hours to respond and said it was too late even though it was still hours before the tour.
should have booked a different tour.
i’ll get my money back in several days... very unlucky for me. but the bus is only €9 from florence so i did and would recommend that.

One hour there, one hour back and I was miserable with motion sickness from the winding Tuscan roads and hills. Be careful if you get motion sick easily! Besides that, the tour was great and we enjoyed it very much. Good information and great wine tastings. I would highly recommend!

The first winery was good and fun, the second one lost power but only in the tasting room. Then they took us to a castle that was basically closed and said come back in a half hour and there was nothing to do there but sit around and wait, such a disappointment.

Such a great tour! The wine and food were amazing, the guides were incredible, and the views are spectacular!

First off the tour operators tried to pull together several small groups who spoke several languages on the same bus. The leaders seemed overwhelmed and were anxious to get us back. The tour left Florence late, which left us racing thru the second wine tour and then to see the Fortress at night. Only 25 minutes to walk up long hill and stairs and back on the bus. Felt sorry for the elderly couple that had a tough time walking...the operators didn't seem too care...only about getting us back on the road. On a positive note, the first winery was fantastic and the owner who led the tour and tasting was really passionate about what they do. The wine was great as well. Next time we will use a different source to schedule wine tours. Of the three tours booked for our trip, these tour guides were NOT well prepared and didn't engage with the group.

Went to 2 wineries in Tuscany. Both were good-plenty to taste and great information on each. Snacks were provided at both. We ordered wine and vinegar and had shipped home from Fattoria Lornano. About 6 hour trip in all. Last stop at Castle-1/2 hour only to view-dusk by then and quite a hike to the top. About 40 in the group.

Excellent wineries with knowledgable experts at the two wineries explaining their wines and olive oils. Visit to Monteriggioni was good but short and the climb to enter the City was too much for elderly. Not sure what can be done about that since tour went 5 1/2 hours anyway. Tour guide on bus was nice but not very informative. With a bus full of tourists and a relatively long ride he could have talked more about the region, mabey some fun facts or history. Overall good value for the cost, and enjoyed the experience.

Where to start? Hotel pickup was late. Whole bus waiting. Late start and instead of getting back at 6:30 as expected, it was closer to 9 p.m. Thus missing all the beautiful scenery on the way back because it was dark out. Thank goodness that was not the night I had my theater ticket. I took two of your tours, and would NEVER take another. They were rushed, impersonal, no sense of fun or adventure. Just let's get this darn thing over and done with. Thanks for the chance to review - I hope this will spare others.

The tour started an hour late and we arrived back in Florence two hours later than billed for return. Wine tastings wee rushed and snacks unsubstantial and served on plastic plates. The only good feature was the fabulous tour guide who spoke 5 languages

Tour left 1/2 late. First winery was excellent. Very informative. Delicious wines. Second winery was nice, wines were good there too. Stopped at a fortress was very dark and we really couldn't see anything. Was a 10 minute walk up then you had 10 minutes in the fortress and then a 10 minute walk down. Only the gelato place was open. Tour is longer than the mentioned 4 hours. Was 5 1/2 hours from start to finish.

Best part of our trip was a tour of 2 wineries and a visit to a couple of towns on the way. We hired a private driver who picked us up in a Mercedes SUV at 9AM in front of our hotel and brought us to the Chianti Region and dropped us off at 5PM. It cost us 450 Euros but was worth it.
We had a nice lunch and tasted several wines and cheeses, pasta with fresh truffles and purchased 3 cases of wine that they shipped back to the US.
You can take a group tour which my daughter and neice did a few later and that cost was 85 Euros. They also had a great time which is what this 1/2 day tour is that I am recommending.
I would highly recommend doing this

This was an absolutely wonderful trip! My three friends and I really enjoyed our tour and tour guide, Eduardo. My only complaint is that we were a little rushed at the second stop! We had time to taste the wines and walk around for 10 minutes before having to leave. However, that doesn't really detract from the overall experience. The wines were amazing and the tastes of salami, cheese, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and truffle sauce were to die for. Highly recommended tour!

We've taken several wine tours in our travels and this one was just ok... one thing that kind of ruined our trip was being scolded by one of the wineries for bringing our son. We've taken him on past tours and we were treated much better.

Fun but not what is described. There is no tour of the ONE estate. One is a tasting at a winary but NO TOUR. The tasting was awesome and fun though. The second thing was a shop at montegronni. Again not a tour of a winary. Only a tasting. Was good but definitly not what was describes

loved every minute. The Morelli wine tasting was excellent.

This is not just a tour outside Florence, it is way out in the Chainti region. It is a significant but ride through the region giving you a good glimpse of the beauty of this area. The guide on the bus also narrated interesting things as we traveled in multiple languages but the tours were only in English. I was looking for a smaller more intimate tour but this was a very pleasant experience with 50 people total. The two wineries we visited were well prepared and had plenty of space for all and it was a fun sized group. Both wineries were very different and both had samples of their wines. We learned a lot about the Chianti region and it's wines. The first winery also had samples of their olive oil and balsamic vinegar. There was plenty of food to sample. The 2nd one in addition to their wines, talked more their different balsamic vinegar and it was amazing. This winery is in an old castle tht the family now ownes along with the little community complete with a small chapel. Both hosts were energetic, passionate about their wines and had great humor. Both were from the family that owned the wineries. Both had areas where you could purchase many things and we had plenty of time for shopping. There is walking involved to get to the wineries from the bus and some stairs. Very nicely done tours. We had plenty of wine samples!

The tour meet up was easy to find, unlike some other tours we took. The drive through wine country was pretty. The first winery was very nice. The winery guide was awesome -- very charming and engaging. The wine and snacks were EXCELLENT -- there was quite a bit of cheese, salami, and bread for tasting various truffle oils and balsamic vinegars. Even a shot of grappa at the end. Most people bought stuff afterwards. The surroundings were great for photos. The second tour was also nice -- with an informative tour of the cellars. Less food, and the wine was not as good, but still a pleasant experience.
Some notes... We did not have a minivan, but rather a large tour bus, which was fine. But I just wish they started up the AC a few minutes before we boarded each time so we didn't board a hot bus. The castle was a nice bonus, but don't expect a long enough stay to do very much. We just had time to look around a bit. As everyone else stated, plan for more than 4 hours. We arrived back in Florence around 8pm. I loved that it was long, but they should probably change the description to be more accurate for planning.

The guide's understanding of english could have been better. The tour is listed on Viator's site as four hours, which implies finishing at 6:30. We have a train six hours after the tour was scheduled to end. Once we got on the tour, we discovered that the tour was actually scheduled to end 5 hours and 15 minutes after the start, according to the tour guide and the brochure on the tour from the tour operator that people had. The tour ran long. Having two busses on two different tours stop at the first winery at the same time, was a problem. The people who wanted to make a purchase overwhelmed the gift shop causing the tour to leave the first winery late. When we actually got to Monteriggioni, the guide told us to get back to the bus 20 minutes after we arrived. Since it took 10 minutes to walk from the bus to the actual site, this left no time to actual site the site. We actually left Monteriggioni about 15 minutes later than she said, arriving back at the bus station 5 hours and 45 minutes after the tour started. This left us 15 minutes to get our luggage from the locker and get to the train Luckily the train was 10 minutes late, and we just made it. Based on the 4 hour tour as listed on Viator's website we thought we had 2 hours, not 15 minutes. Other than this the tour was great.

It was wonderful. The first winery we went to www absolutely amazing. We learned so much and the wine was really great.
Monteriggioni was the second place we went. The winery there was very hot. It was a very quick tasting. Not as great in my opinion. We also weren't given much time to explore.

The tour offered an interesting trip to two vineyards in Chianti. However, there wasn't much difference between the two and the first one was so interesting and fun that the second visit suffered in comparison. Since both offered the same wines, and most people had made purchases in the first vineyard, it would have perhaps been better to visit somewhere offering different types of drink e.g. some white wines or more sparkling ones. Overall, the trip is worthwhile if you want to see some of the beautiful countryside and sample some wine and food.

Our guide francesca was fabulous and places we visited were great

This was an awesome experience. The wineries were beautiful and the wine delicious! The winery hostesses at each were excellent spokespersons for their wineries. They explained very well their wine making processes and were knowledgeable and well spoken when guiding us through the tastings. A great and fun way to experience the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

We loved this tour! The guide was informative, but not overly so, and she was very friendly. The guide also spoke many languages, so she was able to accommodate those on our tour that didn't speak Italian or English. The wineries were wonderful. The stop at the fortress was a nice touch. We were able to easily find the guide at the train station upon arrival. The drive took about an hour out and back. I have to note that we did not arrive back at the train station until 8:30 that evening, so the tour took 6 hours instead of the posted 4. I'm wondering if they didn't include the commute in the total time...not a big deal unless you are trying to plan something afterwards. I think this tour was a great value for the money, and the perfect amount of time. Overall, this was exactly what we expected. Thank you!

A great afternoon sampling some of the region's finest. Well worth it!
DENIS B, Jun 2016
