What To Expect
Begin your day trip with pickup in central Siena. Meet your guide and hop aboard your minivan, setting off toward Montalcino with just a small group of fellow travelers.
Head into the Tuscan hills and stop first at a small winery for a walk among the vineyards. Swirl and sip the famous Brunello di Montalcino, and check out the cellars with your guide.
Next, arrive in the town of Montalcino, the region’s namesake. Enjoy free time to roam the area independently, enjoying the views of the valley below, perusing the shops, or tasting more of the celebrated Brunello wines.
Afterward, journey to a family-run winery, where you can meet the winemakers. Delve into some of the region’s culinary favorites with a traditional Tuscan lunch of antipasti, pasta or risotto and dessert, complemented by delicious local wines.
Appetites sated, continue to the ancient Benedictine abbey of Sant'Antimo. Learn about the stunning structure’s history as you follow your guide inside. On occasion, visitors will hear the monks singing Gregorian chants while taking in the scenery.
Top off your trip with a visit to a third winery for an in-depth lesson on production, the aging process, and more. Take a seat for a final tasting before returning to Siena.

Cannot recommend this tour enough. We visited 4 cities in Italy, and this was by far the favorite activity of the entire trip by everyone. The wineries we were brought too were non tourist trap places and most of the time people’s own homes. Delicious lunch was included. Have to shout out our guide Paolo- he was AMAZING! So knowledgeable, spoke outstanding English, and took good care of us.

A very enjoyable trip! The wine tastings at 3 wineries were well chosen being informative and fun. The group size was good. Lunch was absolutely amazing - wine, food, location and company! A perfect day.

Amazing tour. Julianna our guide was awesome. Loved Cava D'Onice winery and having lunch with the owner/winemaker. Loved the entire experience

This was the best wine tour I have even been on. The guide was so knowledgeable, funny and professional. The wines were amazing and the owner of the vineyard on the second stop made the most amazing lunch we have ever had.

It was a really great wine tour, all 3 wineries were fantastic and the lunch was absolutely amazing. Pablo our guide was very informative and a really nice guy. We could not recommend this tour highly enough. We have done wine tours in Nappa valley and Santa Barbra before, this was our first in Italy 🇮🇹 and it was up there with the best. (Ps we are not American)

Fantastic experience. Georgia our guide was amazing. She was so knowledgeable, friendly and engaging, we could not fault her in any way. The winery visits were great and the lunch first class.

Mat was a great wine tour guide! His history is deep within the region and he had lots to share! Wonderful all day wine tasting experience! Loved that we could mail back wine at every stop!

Excellent wine tasting experience in Montalcino with an amazing lunch! Our guide Mattia was a former award winning winemaker and had a vast find of knowledge that he shared in a very entertaining and informative manner. Highly recommend!! We shipped a lot of wine back to the USA!

This tour was one of the hilights of our time in Italy. We so enjoyed our day in Montalcino. We visited 3 beautiful wineries and enjoyed lunch while overlooking a beautiful vineyard. Giovanni taught us so much about the history of wine and the Tuscan region. We cannot say enough great things about him as our guide!
Silas_S, Jun 2026
Visited 3 fantastic small vineyards and samples their wines. Had a wonderful Tuscan lunch at one of them. Also visited an Abbey and Montalcino. Air conditioner in the van wasn’t too great - that’s the only complaint. Julia was a fantastic guide!

Absolutely amazing experience in the Tuscan countryside. Our tour guide Paulo was so much fun and so knowledgeable of the area and the history of Siena and the region. All three wineries offered fantastic tasting experiences and were so welcoming. Lunch with the wine maker at his home was a highlight. This tour is an absolute must!

This tour was a wonderful day out from Siena! Kekko was a terrific guide and driver - I learned a lot about Brunello, we tasted some great examples of it, and lunch in the family home of one of the winegrowers was just lovely! Highly recommended.

Excellent wine, very knowledgeable tour guide and beautiful scenery. Enjoyed the friendly small winery owners and staff.
Fabian_R, May 2026
Really great experience. The wineries were very beautiful. Our lunch at bellaria was prepared by the owner himself and tasted phenomenal. We bought some bottles of wine to take home at every stop.

We had a fun time on this tour. Our tour guide was Georgia and she was great. She had her hands full because unfortunately the day we went had terrible weather. Pouring rain and dense fog cover. If you’ve traveled to this area you know that the scenery is beautiful. For us we had to appreciate Georgia trying to paint a verbal picture of what we would have seen. She was very informative and knowledgeable along with having a good sense of humor. On vineyard stops and wine tasting were great. I would recommend this tour and Georgia. Hopefully you’ll also get better weather than we had

Incredible experience, through and through. We had a group of 7 (including myself and my mother) in our small van. We were 3 Americans, 2 Irish, 2 Brazilians, and by the end of the day we learned so much about one another and had some great conversations over delicious wine. Our guide and driver Giovanni obviously cared greatly about Brunello and the history of the region. We visited 3 amazing wineries, all very different. The first was a beautiful, mid-sized vineyard with a lovely family where we had a tasting in their own home. The second was another beautiful vineyard with a wonderfully renovated tasting room where we were also prepared a tasty lunch. The third was a much smaller but again, beautiful, vineyard. All of the tastings had snacks (or lunch) so you did not go hungry whatsoever. Wine was plentiful. The drive (although a bit nausea-inducing on the way back down) was one of the highlights - you get to see so much of the rolling countryside that you can’t get from a coach bus tour (which we also did one of these in Chianti from Florence, and the view and experience with this small group was admittedly far superior). Worth every penny!

This was a fantastic day that we really enjoyed!! We learned a ton about the history of the region and how it’s been tied to wine making. Our guide Paulo was so nice, knowledgeable, and a joy to have as a host and driver throughout the day! Cannot thank him enough for a very memorable experience on our trip!! For sure book this trip if you can, as you will not regret it!

Guide Georgia was very knowledgeable about area and very knowledgeable about wine. Gave valuable information before winery visits. Small group was manageable and interesting to learn about others in group and their experiences

Oh boy, where do I start? This has to be one of the best tours my wife and I have ever been on. We love Brunello wine and were really eager to tour the region of Montalcino and sample the wines at a few different vineyards. The tour was about eight hours long starting from our meeting point in Siena. We had five others on the tour with us and we fit comfortably in the van driven by our host and guide, Francesco (Kekko). Francesco grew up in the area around Montalcino and was very knowledgeable regarding the area's past, it's unique geography, and about the wine-making process itself. His English was awesome and he seemed to be able to talk non-stop, but in a good way! We visited three very different wineries and had excellent presentations by the local hosts. We also made a couple of other interesting stops including one at the walled, hilltop city of Montalcino and another at an medieval Abbey that was on the way to one of the wineries. We sampled a nice variety of wines and enjoyed the company of the other guests. The whole day really flew by. Francesco was an excellent driver, even on the many gravel roads and twisting highways, and the whole trip was very comfortable. Francesco's personal stories and his explanations of some of the cultural rituals were fun to hear. We would definitely recommend this tour and Francesco as a tour guide!

Amazing and not to be missed! A fantastic tour of some great wines around Tuscany with lots of additional history and sights.

What a fabulous day! Mattia was our guide and was so much fun as well as knowledgeable. He used to make wine so had many insights. The wine was incredible- we went to 3 wineries and had a lovely lunch in the home of a vintner and family. Definitely a trip you don’t want to miss! Thank you Mattia!
