Not worth the cost

We were looking forward to the English tour of the Jewish quarter, however, the tour guide, while very nice, only recently learned to do the tour in English. He was not able to answer any of our questions because of the language barrier. We could have done the tour ourselves using Google!

Horrible Tour

Hardly a memorable moment except for the guide coughing / sneezing and barely knowing her information. Truly the worst tour that I have been on in my European travels. Our guide, Sara (?), basically walked us through a few streets and told us a few silly stories. She even admitted that she didn’t know her details - she barely knew what The Inquisition entailed. Embarrassing. We paid for FIVE tickets … everyone was disappointed. When I looked on the reviews… they were horrible for Pancho Tours/Jewish Quarter .. Viator did not do its due diligence. We had to do a different tour (NOT through Viator) that was enriching and informative. There’s a very sad but rich Jewish history in Seville and she just did not know it. 98 EUROS wasted - and more important, time that we cannot get back. Do NOT a give this tour to another family. I would like a full refund. Absolute waste of precious time and money. I will not use Viator tours again unless you remedy this issue. Thank you. Nancee

Worst jewish quarter tour ever. Tour guide Sara knew very little about Jewish history. Skip this tour and just walk around historic center. Or go with a more knowledgeable tour company/guide

Very good guide in bad situation

This tour started on a sour note as the operator foisted a group of 13 on 6 scheduled in what is supposed to be no more than 8 when making reservation. In addition, some were young children and the small group tour became 19. This makes it difficult in the narrow passages of the Quarter. It also affected the candor of descriptions and stories. A bad and unfair decision by the tour operator who didn’t have to go on this tour! I resent this lack of integrity and greed! Fortunately our guide was able to compensate for this situation with knowledge and discretion. She clearly made lemonade from the lemons given her!

Unable to do it

We were late to the meeting point, the guide called me and I mentioned that we were almost there, but when we arrived they were gone. Panchotours was not able to tell me where we could go because they didn’t have the itinerary… suggested to go to the office and see what they could suggest but I wasn’t able to find the office, Google took me to a place where they said that I should go to the office on Hernando Colombo street, but didn’t find any office.

Never book a tour at viator

Our walking tour of the Jewish quarter was a great experience. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and gave us lots of information while keeping the tour relaxed. She told us many folk tales and legends, explained the meaning behind street names, and informed us of the history of Seville's Jewish population. She also answered several questions very helpfully. Would definitely recommend this tour if you are looking to learn more about Jewish history in Seville while the museum is closed. Very reasonably priced. The tour was an hour as opposed to an hour and a half, but this seemed like enough time. One thing to note for the provider would probably just be that it was a little tricky to find our tour guide. On the information, it said they would be in specific colours, but as our guide was freelance, she didn't have the stand-out clothing. This made finding her confusing, and we only actually did so because I approached the group thinking they were also looking for the tour guide, but it ended up being the tour. Might want to make this process a bit easier, maybe with a flag or something. Our tour guide had great English and was perfectly clear. Was great to meet her and wish anyone the best with this experience!

We did the Santa Cruz Jewish Quarter Guided Tour and chose the option to combine it with the Cathedral. Our tour of the cathedral was first and it was great! Our tour guide (I think her name was Alia or Alina) was very knowledgable! Party of our group actually toured the cathedral another time with one of the guides who approach you while you are in line, and this one was MUCH better! We got to see more and learn more, and it was interesting for all of us- including two pre-teens who previously toured the church! The tour of the Jewish quarter was ok- the tour guide was knowledgable but it was just too slow for us. There were 5 in or family and then 3 other people on the tour, so I understand the need to set a slower pace for 8 people- but the tour just dragged on a bit since we were walking so slow. It probably could have been 30 minutes shorter and we would have been happier.

This tour led by Sergio was definitely a deep dive into the history of the jews in Seville and did not just gloss over the basics. We were so impressed by Sergio’s wealth of knowledge and also how fun and organized the tour is! You also learn some really interesting stories and historical facts about the quarter and the city that you would never otherwise experience, so this tour covers much more than just jewish history. The Jewish quarter is quite a maze so it was fun to see it without having to figure it out ourselves!
