Overview

Travelers venturing beyond Sardinia’s trendy coastline can find some of the best hiking trails in Italy. This small-group day trip takes travelers from Orosei on the northwest coast inland to Monte Tiscali for several hours of hiking. The roughly 4-mile (6 kilometers) trail takes hikers through forests to the top of the mountain and the Tiscali archeological site, where there are ruins of an ancient village inside a cave.

The Monte Tiscali trek exceeded our expectations. The views were spectacular and seeing the window of the cave in the mountain from both inside and out was fantastic. This was our second trek with Sergio and as before he went above and beyond including timing the trek perfectly to miss the rain. Sergio is very good with all levels of hikers, knowing who and when needed tips for the upcoming part of the trail. He was also very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and history of Sardinia. Communication was excellent with all members of the group in fluent English, French and of course Italian.
