We actually didn’t skip the cable car line. Due to the port authorities suspending small boat traffic, we were forced to take the cable car last minute. Luckily, there was only our ship in port, so line moved rather quickly. Once up top, we waited to start tour-little chaotic, but in the end the tour was great! Lots of stops, great history, and our lunch at the black beach at restaurant Forty One was delicious with beautiful view. The gyro tacos were SO good! We were reimbursed the cable car fare before departing. We’d recommend this tour. It was kind of nice to experience the cable cars…..short line and nice weather.

Able to visit a lot during my cruise stop in Santorini; wonderful tour guide, Victor.
Able to avoid cable car/stairs too!
Highly recommend.

This santorini tour was excellent. Tour Guide Alex and driver Syros (?) were exceptional. Alex was extremely knowledgeable about the island but his love of the island really came through Highly recommend

Excellent tour guide was Victor very informative very friendly very knowledgeable thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience not sure it would have been as great with any other tour guide other than Victor hooray

Our guide, Alex, brought this tour to life. A local who brings personal knowledge of local culture and history to this tour added to the overall historical perspective of art and culture. Aided by a very trustworthy driver Memo, we do not hesitate to recommend this tour. As an aside, the seaside lunch was great!

Good info about the local people as well as stops at tourist sites. Got to attend a local festival and participate in a Greek dance.

Flawless 5-hour Santorini tour with guide Victor & driver Chris. Perfect itinerary, safe travel, and best grilled red snapper lunch at Fourty One. Victor shared so many interesting facts and stories about it Santorini, giving us highlights of the entire island so we know what to hit when we return. We got a real sense of what it’s like to live and work there. Thanks, also, for taking pictures at all the scenic locations.

We have been on over a dozen cruises and Santorini is the most amazingly beautiful island we have ever visited. The views from the rim of the caldera are unbelievable! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and witty and volunteered to take pictures of any of the guests on the tour! And it is critical to note this tour avoids the long lines - both arriving and departing - from the port. I have told that there may be over n hour wait at times - in particular when people are trying to get back to the ship at the end of the day!!!!

Our tour guide, Yianni, was fantastic and very knowledgeable. He was able to help us get through Oia with little fuss even though there were a lot of tourists. Yianni & our driver were also very helpful while touring other some villages and took some great photos at local spots.

Due to windy we couldn’t take boat to the first stop. They gave us 20 euro each for cable car. But we paid a lot more to skip the cable car line. We were lucky to be the first ones off our cruise ship. Someone couldn’t make it due to >2hrs cable car line.
Anna the guide was very good. We didn’t have problems with her. She also took us to somewhere without crowds. Although free time was tight overall it’s a good tour.

Its very rushed
Part private , part with a group.
The person we met at the cruise port was very rude!
Our private driver was Nice but didn't know we were also with a group at times. It was very crowded at some areas, and clearly there are better ways to organize so its not everyone at the same spot at the same time.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thank you for your feedback and kind words about our guide and driver. The person at the port you are referring to is a security officer, who must maintain a strict approach when dealing with thousands of passengers each day.
Please note that this was a shared tour, not a private one. We do not operate large groups unless specifically requested. Since there was no such request, we divided participants into smaller vans to ensure greater comfort and more personalized attention from our staff. You may have occasionally seen other members of your group at certain stops, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Santorini is one of the world’s most popular travel destinations and tends to be crowded from May through October. If you prefer to explore at your own pace and avoid the crowds, we recommend visiting during the winter months and booking a private tour instead of a shared one. Wishing you safe travels!

This was a great tour for us as we had already done the cable car up and stairs down on our prior trip and knew that that would not work for the rest of our family due to mobility issues. The tour group was small, and we had plenty of stops for pictures.
Yaneli_V, Oct 2025
Yianni is the best guide you can ask for. Very attentive, knowledgeable, funny, and takes the best photos. Thank you Yianni for a great day in Santorini!
Lynn_M, Oct 2025
Great tour, lots of stops with good photo ops. Gianni was wonderful, kept us moving along and great knowledge and such a fun & pleasant guide. The day went longer than the estimated 5 hours… more like 6 1/2 hr so plan for that.
Nadia_P, Oct 2025
Our tour good Anna was amazing, easy to understand and very informative. I did feel like we were rushed tho, not enough time at some stops, just so that we could make the sunset, and getting good photos were sometimes impossible as the crowds were very big. The restaurant 41 our server we had was quite rude, didn’t explain the menu and when ordering wine he wasn’t helpful at all, we had better service at the old port. I did love hearing the history of the place, and the donkeys were cool to see.

It was absolutely seamless to get picked up at the port then tinder to the bus location. Then we were greeted by a very energetic tour guide Yanni and our driver Taszos! Very well appointed Mercedes sprinter van! I had read another review on here that said they didn’t have good seats in the van but honestly everything to see was outside the van and Yanni made sure to show us all of it! He was very informative knowledgeable and friendly! And a great photographer as well! Taszos was always close with the van and even had cold water for us all as the temps did heat up! Then we were brought back to tinder back to the cruise port and felt like we had the best day!
Wendy_C, Sep 2025
Victor and Odi are amazing. They were great at showing us all the perfect spots and helped make every minute of our time useful! Cannot say enough good things about them! Very safe and informative!
Alfred_E, Sep 2025
This tour was pretty interesting! We had 10 people in our nice Mercedes van and skip the cable car. Zeus was quite knowledgeable about the history, culture, and people of Santorini. The accommodations were top notch with the van and Cristos as our drive we were in good hands. We stopped at all the touristy spots with commentary on each location. We had a delicious lunch at a cozy place on the beach and then tendered back to our ship on time. If you want to skip the line for the cable car and drive the opposite way of all the crowds, this is the tour for you.

Victor show us the beauty of Santorini in a professional, warm, welcoming way. The driver made us feel safe and enjoy the trip.
A_N, Sep 2025
We thoroughly enjoyed a fun and very informative day in and around Santorini with our guide and driver. Both were very friendly, very professional, and very, very knowledgeable about their home island. The tour was more extensive than I expected and our guide had a great sense of humour and an incredible affinity with the island. His stories were excellent - the locations he guided us to were picturesque and the meal at the beach was an absolute delight. Order the lamb chops only if you are hungry - they are many and they are delicious. Take this tour - please - you will not regret it.
Mark_C, Sep 2025
Tour guide was passionate about Santorini. He took us to places normal tourist see to get some great pics. They dropped us off right at the ship.
Phillip_F, Sep 2025
Tour guide Zeus was very knowledgeable and showed us the best places to see the beautiful island villages. Lunch at a very expensive, but great beach front restaurant, then back to the port. BUT. The tour was conducted with 20 people, we had to sit in the last row of the van and because it is raised 12 inches and the windows do not extend all the way to the back, we could not see anything while traveling across the island. Annoying, yes, impossible time, yes. We asked Zeus to swap our seats for the last part of the tour and it was not going to happen. I am not happy.
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Thank you for your kind words about our guide and our beautiful island!
As for the van—you’re welcome to share your concerns directly with the manufacturer: https://group.mercedes-benz.com/contact/ It carried 19 guests on board, and since it’s a 20-seater, our drivers do prefer to take a seat too😊
Seating is open, so it’s simply first come, first choice—the early birds get the best seeds (and sometimes the best seats). 😊 Wishing you safe and happy travels!

Full day. Hits all the important selfie spots. Skips the cable car as promised. Comfortable small to medium bus. Limited time in each spot so that you can get to all the stops. Very euros for the restroom. Good tour. Definitely recommend. What made it 5 stars was the tour guide Alex and good driving by Renos (sp). They took us off of the well warn path to a part of Santorini I suspect most do not see. A tiny, traditional village where Alex lives that has the look and feel of everything you’d see in a movie or in a postcard. Absolutely beautiful. Best part, we had it to ourselves. No hustle and bustle like in some other locations (though they are beautiful as well). This made the tour for me. Would absolutely recommend especially if you can get Alex. One suggestion to the tour company, please make your location and tour guides easier to find. Wandered around the port a little before I found them.

This was my friends' and my first time in Santorini. I'm so glad we took this tour to see more of the island beyond the crowded streets of Oia. It was nice to get some insight into local culture and history, as well as see less busy villages. Our guide, Gina, was so much fun, and answered our endless questions. She also gave us great tips on where to get the best photos, food and wine to sample, facilities to use, etc. The ride in the air conditioned bus was comfortable, and a nice break from walking in the hot sun.
I recommend this tour for anyone who has just a short time on the island, but wants to see everything they have to offer!

Viktor was an amazing guide and he suggested us a restaurant which had the most amazing food and wine. Also his descriptions about the houses and locals in Santorini was really good. Would love to get him back again as our guide.
Jasprit_M, Aug 2025
It was a good tour for a first timer to get a lay of the land. Tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly.
Brooke_S, Aug 2025
Easy pick up at the port. Very comfortable van with 12 passengers. Four stops with time to see shops and beautiful vistas. A lovely meal by the black beach and ample time to get back on the ship.
We're able to skip cable cars that were very crowded.
Highly recommend out driver and tour guide.
Stewart_R, Aug 2025
This was a highly enjoyable excursion and avoiding the cable car us definitely the way to go. Our guide, Victor, was clearly very knowledgeable about Santorini and delivered this in a relaxed manner. Santorini was extremely busy on the day we visited but he was able to extended our tour to make sure we weren't rushed. Our driver, Agilos, got us around skillfully and calmly.
I definitely learned more about Santorini in an enjoyable and relaxed way.
Darren_C, Aug 2025
This was a great experience despite the crazy heat. Our guide kept us laughing and had so much knowledge of the area it was great , if you have the chance to do this tour with John you will be part of the best group ever lol. A huge shout out to our driver Tasos as well for navigating the roads for the whole tore but especially the ferry traffic at the end of the tour he handled it like a boss!
Bailey_W, Aug 2025
Avoid at all costs if you’re on a cruise — unless you enjoy wasting your time and money.
Do NOT book with this company if you’re arriving by cruise. Our ship had a last-minute change in itinerary, and instead of arriving in the morning, we didn’t tender until the evening — obviously making it impossible to attend the booking. Cruise WiFi is outrageously expensive, but I paid for it just to let them know as soon as I found out that we wouldn’t be able to make it. They just wanted us to reschedule for the next day but we already had a ship excursion that was non refundable.
When I explained that rescheduling wasn’t an option, they completely ghosted me. No help. No solutions. No refund. Just silence. I get that things didn’t go according to plan, but this company doesn’t care one bit. They’ll happily take your money and then vanish the moment something goes wrong — even when it’s clearly out of your control.
Bottom line: If you’re cruising, save yourself the headache and book with someone who actually knows how to communicate and give a damn. This place certainly doesn’t.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
To cut your long story short — in trying to save on ship’s Wi-Fi, you missed the 24-hour cancellation deadline for the tour, which you booked for the wrong date, when you could have cancelled free of charge. Have you heard the expression “penny-wise and pound-foolish”? Your fellow cruisers booked the right date and as a gesture of goodwill, we offered you to join them on Aug 9th, but you informed us you had other plans on that day.
Your refund request has been repeatedly declined in full accordance with Viator’s cancellation policy, available on the website 24/7. We strongly recommend you learn from your own mistakes instead of placing blame on others — it will help not just in your travels, but in life in general. Safe travels.
