Good thing is that you don't have to wait in a long line to ride up the hill. Tour was ok but nothing special to see. We were tendered from ship to port. Then tendered to another port to get in our van.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear that, as promised, you didn’t have to wait in long lines and that we successfully avoided sky trams and reached Athinios Port by boat to get you to your van — confirming that we delivered the services as described.
We understand that everyone’s tastes and travel preferences differ. While you may not have found Santorini particularly special, it is widely recognized as one of the top three destinations in Greece and among the top ten most picturesque locations in the world, visited by millions of travelers each year. We appreciate your feedback and wish you safe and happy travels!

Great overview of the island of Santorini! Our tour guide, Alex, and our driver were excellent... informative, funny and personable. Alex knew the best photo ops and also stood in as photographer for everyone so we were able to get better pics than selfies. We also learned a lot about the island. Communication was very good. Maybe the best part was the company meeting us at the tender port and taking us by boat to the new port where we got on vans for our tour thus avoiding the cable car lines.

Victor gave us an excellent tour of Santorini highlights. We enjoyed him and all of the sites. Thank you.

Good trip and no lining up for the cable car. We were taken to another port and picked up by mini van. We had a good guide who gave us lots of information of Santorini and the towns we visited.

Anna the guide was terrific! I loved not dealing with crowds. I would have liked more time to relax at the beach. I do blame some of the issue was people on the van that didn't follow directions. We wouldn't have seen nearly the amount of the city without this tour.

What a wonderful way to see Santorini without the crowds and fighting the cable car! We had such an enjoyable boat ride as we made our way from the cruise ship...so easy to find our tour. Lena was great at explaining life on Santorini and showed us so many sights...from the lighthouse to the black sand beaches. The time at each stop was just right and we had plenty of time for lunch and sights. The tour ended in Santorini where we could shop, enjoy a drink and the sunset. I can highly recommend this tour.

I’m not altogether sure that skipping the cable car is such a great idea. We took a tender from the ship to the port, then had to wait for another boat to take us to where the bus is, and it took a long time. That cable car looks like a great adventure but then again everybody may not like it. Santorini is beautiful, but there’s really not that much to do. Our guide Tasos was very sweet and did a good job. Our stops were not that impressive so I’m not too sure what to think about Santorini …maybe a do over is in order!

Tasos was a great tour guide. Guided us through the very crowded streets with tons of tourists without incident. He knew all of the best spots for us to get pictures and offered to take the pictures to get the best results and positioned everyone. Gave great explanations of the region and welcomed us graciously.

For a one-day cruise pitstop, too much was crammed into this tour so it was hard to enjoy much. It was advertised as a small group tour with a max of 16 but there were more people on our 'mini' bus. Also, there were about 12-15 other mini buses, as well as large buses running tours at the exact same time, pretty much going to the same places. Too many people! Two tenders takes a long time, and on the way back we had to wait for the large ferry to unload and load before we could get on our boat for our tender. Oia was jammed with people and it was HOT. Unfortunately this took away from the beauty of the town that would be best enjoyed by staying at one of the small resorts for a few days. We were disappointed, but did have a drink and nice snack overlooking the water and resorts. The pitstop was very short - 1 hour. The two additional 'photo stops' should have been omitted to allow more time in the other destinations. Every other tour was also there taking photos individually of every group on their buses so this was way too time consuming and felt super kitschy. We wish we would have gone straight to the black sand beach to relax and have a nice lunch (which we did...but again, it was for 1 hour or less). The area was nice. It was also nice to walk through the other small village on this tour, but at the end of tour, we just wanted to get back to the cruise ship. The tour was as advertised, the guide and driver were fine, and the vehicle was comfortable, but there was a lot of driving time with surprisingly little to see along the drive. This is our family's opinion (two 60 year olds and one 26 year old). Also of note, we generally prefer private tours but because it was too complicated (maybe impossible) to get to the other port via private tender to 'skip the cable car' we opted for this tour.

Thank you for your feedback! Let me address your concerns :
1. The tour description does mention a maximum group size of 19. (We promise we didn’t sneak in an extra passenger when you weren’t looking!)
2. We use 20-seater Mercedes-Benz vans, no standing passengers, and definitely no “lap-seating” arrangements 😊.
3. Tendering is managed by the cruise line, so any delays or frustrations on that front are best addressed with them.
4. Santorini is a little paradise that millions of travelers want to see — which means crowds from May through October. If you’d prefer to enjoy Oia in peace and quiet, winter is the island’s best-kept secret.
5. August in the Mediterranean? Hot, hot, hot! We wish we could change the weather, but the sun has a mind of its own.
6. The itinerary does clearly mention 1 hour in Oia and 1 hour at Perivolos beach. For guests who prefer more flexibility, we always recommend private tours over shared ones.
7. And finally, if “the tour was as advertised, the guide and driver were fine, and the vehicle was comfortable,” then perhaps we’ve earned more than 2 stars? Stars are like smiles — the more you give, the more you get back ✨.
We wish you safe and enjoyable travels ahead, wherever your adventures take you!

Great way to experience Santorini!
Our guide, John, was very fun and informative.
It was great not to have to worry about the lines of the cable cars. Highly recommend.
Emily_B, Aug 2025
John was amazing! So knowledgeable and took us to some incredible places across Santorini. Also our driver (I’m so embarrassed I forget his name) was incredible, he kept us on time and drove us all the way up to the gate for our water taxi. I know the description says ~5 hours and we spent about 6 because we were having such a nice time at lunch! Great experience!

This is an excellent way to explore the island and capture stunning photographs. I highly recommend it.

Yanni was terrific. Enjoyed every moment. Would recommend this tour. Very informative! The special touch with the sunset set was awesome! Thanks for the experience!
Kellie_S, Jul 2025
This tour is a great overview of Santorini! Our tour guide, Anna was very engaging and knowledgable.
Robert_K, Jul 2025
We both thought the trip was fantastic, the guide was great and was very knowledgable of the island and gave some good recommendations. Our only room for improvement would be maybe a map or a sign for where the meeting point was on the dockside. Otherwise much better than relying on the cable car!
Selena_G, Jul 2025
This was so convenient while visiting Santorini. We did not have to wait on the Cable car. The tour guide was waiting for us and very easy to find. It was an easy trip over to catch the van. The views they showed us a Santorini were spectacular and we really enjoyed this tour. Victor was a great guide. Highly recommend.
staceywallace1, Jul 2025
Highly recommend this tour! Perfect amount of history of the island and time to explore on your own. Viktor was extremely knowledgeable with just enough silly interaction to make it fun! The bus driver even made an extra stop on the way back to the boat so we could get amazing sunset pictures with an extraordinary view!
The tour coordinator also accommodated us when our tender didn’t arrive on time. They provided quick travel to meet with our group after the tour started. This accommodation was completely unexpected, but very much appreciated as we were able to do (most of the) tour we paid for after thinking all was lost.
**Sidenote - you will not likely make this tour if you are not on Cruise Tender 1 or 2. This means standing in line 2 hrs early for tender tickets (at least our experience on Royal Caribbean)
