Wonderful experience exploring the island in a Jeep! Alex is filled with knowledge and took us to spots we would have never seen! Definitely recommend this tour. Included Pick up and drop off is also super helpful!

Firstly, this was probably the best thing I booked in Santorini. The experience was truly amazing, we explored unique parts of the island(that we probably wouldn’t have seen) and the experience overall was fantastic! Alex was a great tour guide and was very informative, friendly, and accommodating. He made our honeymoon amazing and something we wouldn’t forget. Please don’t hesitate to book, it was well worth it.

Alex was an amazing tour guide! The afternoon was filled with fun and tons of local information. We did a little off roading (the dirt there was a very loose sand, almost like little beads. The beach area we went to was pretty (lots of lava rocks). Dinner was delicious - a little local restaurant where Alex served us at an outside table - the people watching was great! Since we were coming from a cruise ship, we walked a short distance through all kind of shops, to our meeting location and then Alex drove us back to the bottom of the hill, just below the cable cars with plenty of time to make it back on board our ship. We would highly recommend this tour and Alex!

Great day seeing all of Santorini.

This was a great day. We pretty much saw all of Santorini. I feel like I experienced the entire island. Alex was our guide and he was fantastic giving us good commentary all along the way. This was absolutely a great day. To note: we thought we would have at least 2 jeeps for our two couples. I requested the automatic and we thought the other would be a stick as described. 4 in one jeep was a bit cramped. Alex said he would call the office and see about having us use a 2nd jeep. We said we would all ride together so as to not delay the start of the tour. You will want to make sure about how many jeeps you get. There were 4 of us, and we thought each of us would drive our own...4 jeeps. But since we were couples thought we would use 2. Ended up with 1 for 4 of us. Seems a little high price for 1 jeep. This however did not take away from our experience with Alex or the trip itself. Just confirm what you are booking. Definitely worth doing and a good tour!!

Our tour guide, Alex, was incredible! He was very knowledgeable and flexible during our tour. Since we were the only ones on it, he left too to us how long we started at each location. He also threw in a trip to the lighthouse because we were making such good time.

Absolutely incredible experience. Alex, our wonderful guide, took us on an exciting adventure to some amazing places, explaining the history and landscape of Santorini with great knowledge that comes from twenty years of experience. We drove down some pretty narrow streets and had an exciting off road experience. We had some free time at a beautiful black sand beach and enjoyed a cocktail in the bar. The traditional Greek meal in a local restaurant followed by a stop to watch the sun set topped off an unforgettable day.

WOW! An amazing experience that we won’t forget. We were the only couple on the day, however, Alex our guide did not rush and we still had the full experience; I imagine even better than usual. Alex was so knowledgable, and just an outstanding guy. Must do if visiting Santorini. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

I never left a review before. I have been around the world and I have been on countless tours. This was different. We not only experienced the predictable thrill of a fun jeep tour; we were made aware of parts of Santorini not noted on any YouTube video or blog. We went to mountainsides that looked like a cross between Star Wars and Dr. Seuss. We ate at a local restaurant that felt more like a friend’s Mom’s back yard. The tour ends with a sunset in a magical spot only the locals know. The tour guides Alex and George are the owners. Alex is bursting with pride and knowledge about his island. They care about your experience because they want you to love their home. You are their guest.

Thank you for your review Jayne. It is actually a Jeep convoy. That's why we have 7 jeeps. However we are at the end of the season and some few times we don't have more than one reservation. If the 1 star reduce is because of that i think that it is a lil bit unfair. Thank you again

Great way to see Santorini, especially the less traveled parts! The only two areas that are not on the itinerary are Fira and Oia which are better visiting on foot as the traffic is awful there. If you are staying multiple days before it might be worth inquiring about the itinerary. Our group had a nice stop at the Black Stand Beach which would have been less interesting if we had already done it. Excursion was perfect for the Jeep enthusiast like me. Most Jeeps are manual but they have *at least* one automatic so definitely inquire if you can't drive manual. None of the Jeeps were new but all were well maintained with no mechanical issues.

DO IT. This experience was amazing. The company was SUPER communicative beforehand. We arrived by cruise ship and met our can exactly on time a 5 min walk from the cable car. The driver was excellent. We had our guide Alex, and he was soooo great. Very patient with the group. Very communicative with the driving and directions. We went to non crowded places. Driving through the canyons was great. We went to a beach and had a light meal. This was my third time in Santorini and by far my favorite. I would definitely do this again, one of the best tours we’ve ever had.

A wonderful experience exploring the southern part of Santorini. Alex was very informative on several different topics from the uniqueness of Santorini vineyards to local customs, landmarks and geology of the island. He took good care of us as we navigated the island on and off road in the jeeps. The light meal was enjoyable and the sunset was beautiful. Sunglasses and caps recommended as it is a lot of dust you encounter. Swimwear and towels needed for a stop at the black beach in the south. It was very pebbly/ rocky - which made entering the ocean difficult. A very fun way to see areas of Santorini we would not have seen. I had not driven a stick shift for years so this was reintroduction by fire!……but Alex really lead us step by step on the radio and I had nothing to worry about at all. Fantastic experience and my 13 and 17 year olds loved it.

Black Trails Jeep tour is awesome!

This tour is a must do! My family of four (me, my wife, and two teenage boys) wanted to take a tour of Santorini, but not the typical tour. I can’t say enough good things about the Black Trails Santorini Jeep tour. Communications leading up to the tour were friendly with quick responses. George reached out to us the day before to check in with us and tell us what time we’d be picked up. Pick up at our resort and drop off at the tour starting point was easy, comfortable, and efficient (and of no extra cost along with the drop off after the tour). You should know that the Wranglers are standard (stick) transmission. It has been a little while since I’ve driven a stick so our guide Alex gave me some reminders and then had me start it up and take a couple of laps around the parking lot until I felt pretty good. Alex gave us some insights on what we would be seeing and some instructions on driving, and made sure we were comfortable before we loaded up and started. He was in constant contact from his lead jeep with a handheld radio. He was awesome! Made sure that we saw everything that we could see and explained a lot of the history. He also really looked out for our safety, making sure we knew what was coming, who had priority crossing, and didn’t rush us when we were on the main streets, or the bumpy back roads/trails. We made a few stops so that we could all jump out and Alex could show us some things up close and give us more in depth information as well as field our questions. We stopped at a vineyard, up on a hillside that you could see both north and south, a fishing village (with convenience store and bathrooms…which was helpful, because we forgot to pack a water bottle), and to a secluded beach to go swimming. We also stopped to take a walk through town to a small family run restaurant for dinner. The food was small plates of traditional foods served family style. Everything was fresh and delicious. We had a couple of minutes to do a little browsing in some of the jewelry shops and take a bunch of pictures. The last stop is overlooking the caldera bay and volcano to watch the sunset. Alex told us the history of the volcano and how it shaped the island as well as Greek history. He helped us take a bunch of pictures and then we watched the sun set. Honestly one of the best moments of our entire Greece trip for my family and I! A couple of pieces of advice, since I’m sure you’ll want to take this tour. Be sure to bring beach towels, and I would even bring a beach blanket if you can. Bring snorkeling stuff if you want to, but you won’t be swimming for that long, I was ok that we had left ours at home. Also, the trails are dusty, so be sure that everyone has sunglasses or something to keep the dust out of your eyes. Most importantly, be excited, because you’re going to love this tour.
