This is a must do! Ryan was our tour guide and was great! He made it fun and it was clear he knew the area. He gave us specific tips on where to walk, what to avoid and how to go down the slide safely. The walk to the waterfalls was short and easy. There were large groups out at the waterfalls but Ryan made sure we had a good time. He was so friendly and helpful to others as well which was reassuring. Even if you don’t go down the slides, observing the natural beauty and getting in the water is a must.

My experience was terrible. No one on your end sent an email about my reservation so my friends and I were waiting to be picked up over a half hour and missed the whole tour.

This was a last minute booking for our family. We chose a private tour compared to similar group tours available for flexibility. Tanya - Our tour guide was pleasant company, very friendly and empathetic! Even though we could not go to the waterslides due to rain, we made the best of the tour with stopovers on 190. We stopped briefly at Luquillo Beach, but would recommend to chose a full rainforest trip instead.

We were super disappointed with the overall Private tour operator experience. We have done many Private tours through Viator (Italy, France, Oahu, Maui, Turks and Caicos, Antigua, New York, Boston, Charleston) and have never been disappointed. We prefer Private tours to get the local experience, and for our own clean space. Unfortunately, we would not recommend a private tour through this operator. 1. 15 minutes before our tour was to begin, we received a text message that we will be picked up 1 hour later, it ended up being 95 minutes. 2. The car was a personal car and dirty with sand everywhere 3. The car smell gave all of us a headache 4. The Luquillo beach we were brought too was filled with garbage, dirty underwear and the beach and water were not as pristine and secluded as other Luquillo beaches that we could have been brought too 5. The waterslides were amazing, but are unsafe and we should have been prepped on what to wear (highly recommend water shoes and or socks and probably a helmet :-) 6. Lack of professionalism overall. Taking personal calls on speaker in the car, too much personal talk, and choice of words was very uncomfortable. However, Shirley, the Tour coordinator for [RealPRTraveL] was amazing, she was always attentive and very responsive to communicate with. She helped us set up the Bioluminescent Tour through Eco Adventures which was an absolute amazing experience. Unfortunately, we cancelled the Lagoon Cave and Secluded Beaches Tour because of this experience.

Hi guys this review came at a very big surprise seen that I was tipped $80 for such horrible service. I had explained to the clients that I was in a middle of a move me as the CEO I normally do not do tours but covered their tour last minute so that we did not have to cancel. Although staying outside of our pick up service area, we did not charge the fee for pick up. The personal conversation she is speaking of, is bc I was explaining to them a recent death in my family and the spoke out the crime/safety was of Puerto Rico, the scent they spoke of was a vanilla air fresher that we use in our cars. The clients the day before did leave some sand on the rug, but these clients were going to the beach as well in which we would of spent $ on a car wash for them to drag the sand right back in. The personal call on the speaker phone was 3 mins long and it was in Spanish so, not sure what foul language she was speaking of… lastly her youngest son HAD a Blast at the waterfall, and I personally helped him maneuver though the rainforest so we can enjoy hisself. They also mentioned how delicious the food was that had in luquillo. not sure how my service equates to a 1 star and to say that our staff is a amazing shouldn’t equal a 1 star

We had Glory for our private tour and she was amazing. She took us to some great places in the rainforest and the beach. Giving great recommendations and help along the way. She let us go at our own pace and was wonderful with our two six year old girls. I couldn't recommend her and the tour enough

The driver Jose was amazing. He stopped at the beach. Then took it to a local place to eat delicious food! Then took us to the yunque. He always made sure we walked the safe path and always guided us. I would definitely recommend him and I'm definitely coming back!

A private tour is definitely the way to go. Our tour guide was Luís. Luís made it a fun and adventurous day for us. He was knowledgeable about Puerto Rico’s history. The sites were pleasant to get to, and the very short hike to El Yunque Natural water slide was manageable, even for these half-century old knees. We enjoyed food kiosk-hopping at Luquillo beach, and the “gasolina” drinks we enjoyed at el Jibaro were delicious! Overall, we enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend Luis as your guide. The only recommendation I suggest is to extend the length of time allowed for the tour, and to include more interesting stops along the way.

The guide picked us up (a family of four adults) from our hotel in a Suzuki Aveo (sub-compact) to drive us one hour to El Yunque. We were cramped and uncomfortable to say the least. Then he took the longest route to get there despite using Google Maps but not following the recommended routes. I had a hunch that it was because (i) he did not have a transponder for the toll road, which is the quickest route to get there, and (ii) he confessed he had never done this tour so he was learning at our expense. Then, after the long uncomfortable ride there, we parked at a private lot run by a local family that lived there. The guide then asked me pay $5 for parking and $5 for our party (meaning us four - my family - and $1 for the guide) who had no idea where the slide was and the best spots to enjoy the water slide and pools.
Then, after a few times on the slide, he drove us using Google Maps to an area for lunch but could not find the restaurant. By this time my wife and I had enough. We were ready to skip lunch and go to the beach. Again, this guide did not know where he was going and took the long way to get us to Luquillo Beach despite Google Maps offering him a shorter/faster route. When we got to the gate to go to the beach, he looked at us to pay for admission for the car to go down to the beach. At that point, my wife and I decided to cut the tour short and go back to the hotel.
The drive back was silent and uncomfortable to say the least. I paid $500 plus dollars for the worst tour of my life. I am disputing the charges with my credit card provider because the tour operator/Viator are scoundrels.

Mainak, our apologies for your disappointment during your tour with us. All of guides will experience their first day or first tour at some point so we do understand them being a little unsure of where to go. However, we do not agree with him taking the local route, at no point did we ever advise our guides to take a local route to the rainforest so we will be addressing that. And at NO POINT was he EVER to ask you to pay for anything, so he was in the wrong for that. We will be taking the necessary actions to resolve this manner.

Sara and Katherine were absolutely wonderful guides! The short hike to the water slides was fairly easy and the slides and natural pools were so fun! Our guides were so friendly and welcoming, treated us like family! Loquillo beach was beautiful and the food was amazing! Very family friendly and we all had an amazing time!

I told the person from Viator that I wanted a private (my spouse and myself only) to go hike the El Yunque Rainforest. We needed to be picked up from San Juan cruise terminal and dropped off at our hotel. Because we would have luggage we did not want to book anything that was a group. After being placed on hold a few times, she suggested a tour and I said fine as long as it met the 2 criteria of hiking the forest and transportation from port to hotel w/ luggage with us only. The driver was fine but the agenda did not include entrance to the National Park, we drove almost an hour to get up there and they did not let us in because we didn’t already have park tickets. I would think a tour company would have thought of purchasing entrance ahead of time, even put that in my comments when we booked but apparently the driver didn’t get the comments.

I would recommend this private tour to El Yunque and Luquillo Beach if you are traveling soon to Puerto Rico. Our tour guides name was Tonya and she was awesome at giving us a history of PR during the tour. We were able to go into the rainforest which led directly to the natural slide, however; there were plenty of people at the slide so Tonya led us to a more secluded area that took us to the very top of the slide where we saw other waterfalls. The trail down is very slippery and we were lucky that it hadn't rained much or while we were there which made it a great experience. Afterwards, we headed to Luquillo Beach which was just a beautiful experience as we got to eat local food at the kiosks and enjoy some time at the beach. I would recommend hiking boots and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and wear a bathing suit underneath so you can enjoy the waterfall and beach both. It was just a great experience and the best part is it was a private tour where all the attention was just on us and our safety and satisfaction with the day which was perfect.

We had a private tour with Leroy and it was just awesome, he was friendly and we felt great in the tour. He took us to the most beautiful waterfall and then to the beach. Jonathan was my guide and he texted me in the morning to make sure I knew what to pack and wear for the tour and answered all my questions. He was very punctual . El Yunque was closed when we got there maybe due to the Easter holiday. Jonathan quickly knew what to do, he took my kids and I to El Hippie waterfall, it was further away but he made the whole experience enjoyable and he was very knowledgeable and absolutely loves his country. He taught my daughter how to jump off the rocks into the water. She felt comfortable with him. He speaks so highly of Puerto Rico it makes you want to move here. Luquillo beach was beautiful and there's a strip where vendors sell drinks and food. Jonathon recommended some local dishes and drinks for me to try. It was amazing! Jonathan was not just a guide he was a great host that entire day and taught me so many things about Puerto Rico! It couldn't have gotten any better , I didn't even care that we didn't get to go to El Yunque.. I felt very at ease with Jonathan, he went above and beyond for my kids and I. He took pictures for me, he helped me navigate the rocks around the waterfall, he even stopped at KFC at my request for me to try it,he was just the perfect gentleman. My kids mentioned that they really like him and that's a plus because they're teenagers they don't gravitate to strangers that quickly! Thank you Jonathan! You're 11/10!!
