A fantastic experience with real hands on practice and excellent instruction. Would absolutely recommend for anybody with time in Vietri. Be advised - don’t wear any jewellery though! Your hands will get delightfully messy :)

Elvira was amazing! She was super patient with us, even though we were complete novices. I had our three boys with us (16, 13, & 9) and she was patient with everyone of us. Highly recommend!

The organiser was lovely and helpful, however we didn’t get offered any refreshments during the workshop, as advertised. That aside, it was outdoors so it was very hot (Aug) and we were parched. Sadly, the original ad did not inform us that we wouldn’t get to take away what we had made - 3 hours and nothing to show for it, @€60 each! The organiser said it takes two weeks for the natural drying process etc and had we known that, we wouldn’t have booked. We were disappointed and disheartened as we created lovely mementoes. She said she said she could post them but it would take 2-3 months! Very disappointed.

I'm sorry for your disappointment but it is written in the description on the site on which you booked that it is not possible to take items with you at the end of the experience. I'm also sorry that you say that I didn't offer you anything, because as always and like everyone else I ask if they like water and coffee. Maybe I didn't make myself understood.

Elvira was amazing. It ended up that my Daughter and I were the only ones in the class and that was probably a good thing as we are not that artistic and probably needed more help than usual. Elvira was patient and extremely helpful. This was our favorite experience/class of our trip. I would recommend this activity to everyone and for all ages!

Our private Ceramic Workshop in Vietri Sul Mare was a great experience for our family of four.
Elvira guided us through several steps such as clay modeling an animal ("Stephan the Sea Horse", "Freddy the Fish", "Gerald the Giraffe" and last by not least "Donald the Dino") using the pottery wheel to craft a small vase (it looks simple, but we can assure you it is not) and glazing and painting of ceramic.
Time really flew by.

I enjoyed spending time with Elvira in her art studio and trying the different pottery making methods! She is a lovely person and her teaching style is fun and easy to follow. She was always very encouraging. I can’t wait to receive my fired pottery!!

Our artist/teacher was amazing! We really enjoyed the experience. The first hour I made a pot & my guy formed a dragon fly. The second hour we worked on the pottery wheel. Its so difficult! It was fun to watch an expert do it, then try it ourselves. We made small vases. The 3rd hour we glazed & painted small pots that other students had made & the instructor shared ceramic history. She was very patient & kind & I would highly recommend it.

Getting my hands dirty with clay! Loved the tactile approach. And doing three distinct activities, the pottery wheel, painting, glazing, hand making a bowl. And the history of ceramics in Vietri was very interesting also.

My 21 year old daughter and myself had an amazing 3 hours learning how to make a pinch pot, make a pot on the wheel and then we got to paint a pot. We both had so much fun, we were never rushed and it was all explained so well. I would definitely recommend this activity to anyone who wants a truly fun day.

It was a brilliant experience, we got the chance to learn about the ceramics history in Vietri and practice some of the techniques, from hand making a bowl to getting to spin a vase on the wheel and even painting a finished pot. Elvira was a great teacher we we would definitely recommend this, a highlight of our trip!

It was very exciting! First we used fully manual technique and could cahoots what to make, e.g. animal, plate etc. Before we started we got recommendations how we could make a thing we wanted. The next stage was to make a vase on a potters wheel, and the next - painting a vase. We had much fund during the workshop and learned local pottery techniques.

We took the 3 hour class which included working with clay, time on the pottery wheel and painting/decorating ceramics. It was extremely relaxing and the instructor was very accommodating and engaging. She is even shipping our finished pieces back to the US! Take this tour/class when you are in Vietri Sul Mare !
