All around a great experience. Our driver Cindy was great and took us anywhere we wanted to go and let us skip some things we had already done before. Our atv ride with Marlon was great. We saw a lot of beautiful places and rode all over the island on atvs

The best trip we had

This trip with Marlon was the best trip we had on our Cruise ship tour in middle america. We had so much fun and Marlon did his Best to fullfill our wishes. Everything was perfect with this trip. We did this trip in a small group and Marlon told us a lot about Roatan. He also took care of our personal wishes. 1000% recommendation. Will come again to Marlon if we visit Roatan again. Besides the amazing Trip with the ATVs , Marlon was one of - if not the best guide we ever had.

Perfect Day

We’ve taken a number of such tours. And I look for three things; on time, duration, and genuine attentiveness. Omar was our guide. He was on time, and met us at the appointed place. He did not require us to wait for others. When we arrived, he was ready to go. We did all that was promised, and did so unhurried. We spent a good amount of time with animals; ie monkeys, sloth, birds, butterflies… we saw it all. The ATV tour was a blast. We went through hilly areas, small towns, high vistas, and the beach. Never rushed. We went to the chocolate shop. Learned a few things, bought some chocolate. Short stop, but worth the time. Omar then offered to take us to several places for photo opportunities. We passed, as lunch was calling us back to the ship. Most importantly, Omar was engaged with us throughout the day. He was friendly, funny, and actively involved. In fact, he joined the ATV tour guides and rode an ATV with us. Bottom line… everything the company promised, they delivered. And Omar made the day a perfect one.

We had a great time. Daniel was very accommodating. He filled in as our guide on the four wheelers so that we could not go with the group. The monkeys 🐒 are great but a bit mischievous. Overall one of the best excursions we have been on.

Fun time with Marlo and Wilson

ATV ride on dirt trails and on the beach, very enjoyable! Then on to the animal sanctuary where they were amazing with taking pictures of us with sloths, birds, monkeys, butterflies and more. We did the rum factory, chocolate factory and hung out on the deck of a bar for awhile. Marlo was with my group of 4 for the entire day. Would have taken us to beach if we had wanted to go. Took lots of pics and video and sent them all to us. Just book it ! FYI : We went to the wrong place to meet him at the beginning. He will meet you inside the port but we went outside. My fault since, I couldn’t get my phone to work there.

Amazing experience from start to finish!! Marlon answered all questions I had about the booking and Cindy our guide was phenomenal. We visited the Roatan Island Brewing Co, did ATVs, visited Maya Eden, stopped at the Roatan Chocolate Factory and eat at the Booty Bar. We were exhausted after all of this but Cindy was still offering to show us more! While driving to the multiple stops, Cindy gave us a great overview of the island and pointed out landmarks. Highly recommend this excursion when in Roatan.

We had the most wonderful time with Marlon! He is so fun and knowledgeable about his beautiful home of Roatan and he created the perfect day of experiences for just the two of us. From the time he picked us up at the Mahogany Bay cruise terminal until he brought us back, he shared about his family and the local lifestyle, along with interesting information and answers to our questions. He is so easygoing and thoughtful, he even gave us some local currency as a souvenir! We started with the ATV portion of the trip, my favorite, which truly was a jungle ride, followed by an exciting cruise right at the waterline along the beach, with gorgeous views of the ocean. We stopped at a cute little restaurant for some drinks, then continued on, splashing through a stream. It was so much fun! Then Joel and Marlon took videos of us on the atvs with my camera as we were riding and they are so cool! In fact Marlon took so many awesome photos of us during our trip. Our next stop was Mayan Eden, the animal sanctuary, where we got to interact with so many animals, including kinkajous, colorful birds, and I got to hug a sloth! A monkey even stole my hat (but gave it back)! After pictures at the Roatan sign, we visited the Rum Factory for a taste of rum cake and delicious flavored rum. The mango rum was our favorite! Then to the chocolate factory for more tasting and viewing of the chocolate making process. Our Roatan excursion was our favorite of our entire cruise. All in all we had the best time, thanks to Marlon and Sunfriends!!!

Unforgettable Private Tour

You’re going to love this experience! It absolutely met our expectations and was totally worth it—especially because it was private, allowing us to do a little bit of everything. Our adventure included several amazing stops: first, Maya Eden; then an exciting ATV ride, followed by visits to the rum and chocolate factories. We wrapped up the day with some delicious baleadas. Well worth it

Marlon was great. He picked us up in West Bay and took us to the Rum and Chocolate factory. Afterwards we went to do the ATV portion of the tour. Although it’s the rainy season and the roads were muddy Marlon and Wilson made sure my wife had a safe ride. We were taken to Maya Eden for the final portion of the tour. We had a great time and felt it was well worth it for us.

This was like our own personal ATV tour , with the animal sanctuary and chocolate factory thrown in. We booked at the last minute and were so lucky. After we were picked up we headed to the animal park where we interacted with macaws, toucans and monkeys. We then met up with our ATV guides for 1.5 hours of extreme riding. You traverse some rutted dirt roads and hills with the final destination along a winding beach path. You follow the track back. Our guides were so patient and nice. We then made the trek over to a local chocolate factory for tasting and a tour. You can also opt to visit a rum factory. We decided to head back. This was by far one of our highlights of our cruise stops. Thanks to Marlon for a wonderful tour.

Best local tour in Roatán!

We are a couple that rarely leaves reviews, however after the day Marion and Wilson showed us, we felt compelled to share with the world what a great time we had. Hands down this was the best tour of Roatán island with your friendly local private tour guides! Marion and his brother Wilson began our day with an ATV tour of Roatán's beautiful green jungle and mountains. Wilson added a great touch with his photography skills by capturing us in many breathtaking views. After we finished our jungle ATV cruise, Marion then took us to the Mayan Eden Eco Park where we got to hold and take photos with many native animals such as monkeys, sloths, toucans, macaws, etc. The day didn't end there, Marion then added in a personalized touch by allowing us to decide on which local favorites we wanted to visit next. We enjoyed lunch at a local hot spot where we had out of this world ceviche using the areas freshly caught seafood. To ensure we were leaving with a piece of Roatán, Marion took us souvenir shopping to the island's famous chocolate factory, and also to a rum distillery! Marion and his brother made our day in Roatán an experience that will truly go down in travel history for us. Best personal experience you can get in Roatan

Our excursion got cancelled last minute so I called Sunfriends and they were ready to help us. We were picked up from the cruise port exit and the driver Daniel was very cool and personable and answered all my questions about Roatan. Real nice guy. After driving for a while we got to the ATVs and Wilson was waiting for us. The ATV drive itself was so cool and Wilson took pictures that was later sent to us and knew the good backgrounds and spots. We had a great time and felt safe throughout the adventure. We met up with Marlon and he took us to an animal sanctuary and got to interact and take pictures with so many cool animals native to Roatan. Marlon was so nice and knowledgeable. Had a great time with him. My friends will be visiting and i will recommend this excursion to them for sure. Best way to enjoy Roatan by land. I will also be back to explore Roatan by water with Sunfriends

A Great Day in Roatan!

Marlon met us just outside the gate to the pier with a sign with our name so he was easy to find. We then jumped into his air conditioned van and drove to the ATV site with Marlon telling us about Roatan along the way. We met his brother, put on our helmets, were shown the ins and outs of these automatic ATVs (very easy to operate), and we were off! First we were four wheeling up and down dirt roads and paths, then a little road driving, and then the beach. We stopped along the way to take pictures of the beautiful scenery and for Marlon to continue to inform us about his country. The dirt roads were a little challenging but the beach riding was glorious! We spent awhile doing that, then returned back the way we came to the van. After that, we were off to Mayan Eden where Marlon turned us over to an eco park tour guide. We explored the butterfly house, saw the monkeys, Toucans, and Macaws, then were able to hold the Sloth and gently stroke the Kinkajou. We learned how Mayan Eden came to be and how it was sustained. It was very interesting. After that we went and ate lunch at a local restaurant. I had fresh snapper and my husband had iguana stew. The food and local beer were delicious. The local cats that were hanging out also enjoyed a taste of my fish! After lunch, we chose to forgo the chocolate factory and Roatan sign and headed straight to the Rum factory where we tasted the different rum cakes and rums available. We made our purchases and then Marlon returned us to the ship. We had a wonderful tour and highly recommend Sunfriends and especially Marlon to anyone visiting Roatan. Additionally, Marlon’s brother took pictures throughout the ATV portion of the tour which Marlon shared with us.

Roatan ATV Tour with all the best bits!

I decided to book this amazing tour with @sunfriends_roatan the tour is owned & operated by 3 brothers who were all fabulous from start to finish. . The tour covers the best parts of the island, you’ll be collected from your hotel/ cruise port and whisked off to visit the Chocolate Factory and the Rum Cake Factory. You’ll then explore captivating sightseeing spots and capture memories at the renowned Rusty Fish local craft market and the vibrant Roatan sign. . From there you’ll then head over to Mayan Eden, An eco-park where you can discover monkeys, sloths, macaws, deers and more in their natural habitats. Complete with knowledgeable guides on this guided tour, you will learn about their behavior, ecology and conservation efforts to protect them. You can then explore hiking trails and partake in bird watching. . You’ll then head to your meeting point to mount your ATV’s for the Jungle Tour, you’ll embark on a thrilling 1.5-hour ride on rugged paths, navigating hills and soaking in the natural beauty, culminating in a beachside stop for photos near a shipwreck. You can finalise your tour with a beach break at the famous West Bay Beach and stop for an early dinner!

Decent tour but make sure you do all the things advertised

I was traveling alone so had a true private experience, which was great. At the same time, I would not necessarily say the description of this tour is accurate (or I got ripped off). To begin, we started with the ATV tour which is what I was most looking forward to. I got a VERY quick tutorial and we were on our way (not even a waiver to sign). The operator had his brother with him who helped keep his eyes on me but also took pictures and videos, which was great and highly appreciated. However, a few things about this part weren’t quite as I was expecting. For starters, I picked this tour because it was advertised as a 1.5 hour ATV ride and we were done and back in the car in 45 minutes. The beach was flooded so we didn’t go as far as normal (though I don’t know how far that really is), and maybe because it was just me everything was faster, but I was a little annoyed since I specifically picked this tour for the length of the ATV portion. Secondarily, I was looking forward to riding through the jungle (also as advertised) and this tour really doesn’t do that. You’re really driving on a dirt road on top of a hill. Great views, but I thought I was also getting jungle. The craft market was great and my guide got some great pics of me at the Roatan side. The sloth/monkey park is done with one of the park’s tour guides and it was fine. The park guide told me the animals are rescues but I don't fully believe that but that’s neither here nor there. It seems these types of parks are all over the island. When we got to the rum cake factory, I was basically told to just go inside alone and come out whenever I’m ready which was fine but also felt a little strange. We skipped the chocolate factory as I was staying in that area and was fine skipping. However, we also skipped the “beach break” at West Bay Beach, which I was not consulted about and was in a different area so I found that annoying. Overall, my guide was very nice but I don’t think I got everything I paid for/was advertised. He also didn’t give me much of an island tour, whereas my guide the next day pointed out all kinds of things during our drive.

Great Tour

Everything was as expected and on time. Walked off the ship and to the meeting place. Marlon is a great guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly. ATV ride was fun. None of us had ever ridden before. So easy. Went through small villages / neighborhoods, up and down some hills, dirt road, paved road and ended up on the beach! Mayan Eden was perfect. Had everything we wanted to see. Not crowded. Chocolate factory was a nice quick stop. Ended with an hour+ at West Bay beach. Dropped us back at the ship. Would definitely do it again.

Had a great time with Marlo! Was a great tour guide and an amazing pornographer. Seeing the island and riding around in ATV was a great way to experience the island. If we had more time we would have been able to see the beautiful beaches and reeds. Would highly recommend anyone visiting Roatan to come see it with Marlo and his family!
