I spent a whole week in Rio, and this hike was my absolute best experience. I was a little nervous before the motor ride, but it went quite well. The hike isn't easy, but it's well worth it. The view and sunset were simply fantastic. My guide was very good.

Very challenging hike but the views are totally worth it. The hike was a little over a mile, up the mountain all the way. Our guide, Milena, was amazing. Everything was well organized.

    Our experience with this agency was unacceptable from start to finish. We booked a Dois Irmãos guided tour specifically advertised as conducted in English, yet upon arrival we were casually informed that no English-speaking guide was available and that ours spoke only Spanish or Portuguese. This is not a minor inconvenience — it is a complete failure to deliver the core service we paid for. As a result, communication during the tour was extremely limited. The guide provided virtually no explanations, context, or insight, and contributed nothing beyond pointing out an obvious trail that is clearly marked and easy to follow independently. In practical terms, we paid a premium price for something we could have done alone for free. What is most concerning is the company’s attitude afterward. When I contacted them to request a refund for the service they failed to provide, they refused to take responsibility and instead blamed the situation on their inability to reach me by phone — despite having other obvious ways to contact me, such as email. This response shows a complete lack of professionalism and accountability. We deliberately chose this agency over cheaper alternatives because we expected reliability and quality. Instead, we didn’t even receive the most basic element promised. I strongly advise others to look elsewhere unless they are willing to risk paying more for less.

    This was such a beautiful hike!!! Our guide was really wonderful, and was very kind when my partner was struggling some with the pace. We definitely felt better doing it with a guide, and the views at the top were SO worth it.

    Didn’t bother to show up

    The guide never showed up and didn’t bother to call me until I reached out to her. Her excuse was that she couldn’t get an Uber on time, but that shouldn’t have stopped her from notifying me. Our meeting point was a favela at 3am. She knew this and still didn’t make an effort to notify us on time, which could have avoided us driving there.

    The experience was absolutely incredible! The views from the top of Morro Dois Irmãos at sunrise are truly breathtaking, totally worth the early wake-up. Everything was perfectly organized, and our guide Rodrigo was the best! Super friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel safe the whole way. One of the highlights of my trip to Rio. Highly recommended!

    Jessie was our tour guide and she was great! The whole experience from riding motorbikes through the favela to the sunrise on top of the hill was incredible. Definitely recommend!

    No Tour

    Unfortunately this tour did not happen for my friend and I. We were looking forward to it and it did not happen. On the morning of the tour, we took an Uber to a street corner on the side of the main road and we arrived there at 3:45am for a 4am tour. At 4:10am, I contacted Viator and the tour company because no one had shown up to take us on the tour. At approximately 4:15 am we were told that the tour is being cancelled because the tour guide cancelled. We then had to take an uber back to our hotel. It cost us 2 uber rides for a tour that we were not able to go on. I had several trips booked for my trip to Brazil on different days and they all contacted me the day before, but somehow this company did not contact me for this tour prior to,.

    Yes, unfortunately it was not possible to do the walk due to bad weather and at the moment we were unable to inform you in advance so that we could reschedule, as we discussed I am sorry for making you go to the meeting point and Uber, but this type of experience may be cancelled due to bad weather.

    Early start but well worth it, the views were spectacular in the clear night sky and into the morning sunset. Our guide Robinson was very helpful throughout, I’d highly recommend.

    Amazing experience with ethereal views

    I booked this hike because of all the amazing reviews. And just like what everyone said, Rodrigo is very down to earth and easy to work with. I initially scheduled our hike on a day that is forecasted to be raining and so Rodrigo offered to move the date. Although I ended up changing the date anyways, it was nice enough for Rodrigo to offer. To get to the trail from Vidigal, you take a mototaxi. I’ve ridden a motorcycle before but not with the twists and turns while going uphill. I just kept my knees close to the driver, wrapped my arms around him and trusted him as they do this all the time. There are handles on the back of the motorcycle which is what my husband (and most people) held on to. This is the way down also. Because it’s a sunrise hike, the trail is completely dark. Rodrigo provided us with a lamp to guide us along the trail. The hike itself has some steep parts but it wasn’t bad as the trail changes to mild/moderate incline and one part that was flat. Rodrigo gave ample amount of breaks especially because I have asthma. He followed our pace and never rushed us. There are some viewpoints that looks over Rocinha favela. You can still hear people partying in the streets. It’s quite a vibe in Rio for sure. When we got to the top, although brief, we were able to see Christ the Redeemer and the beaches of Leblon and Ipanema. It was quite a view until the fog and clouds started rolling in. We didn’t get to see the sunrise, but we did see the sun as it pierced through the clouds. And although we weren’t lucky enough to see a clear sunrise, I was happy with the experience. It was a great way to start our day with a workout and always appreciate being in nature. On the way down, now that there’s sunlight, you get to see the view of Rocinha favela again as well as the Sao Conrado Beach. Overall, we had a pleasant experience. I would do it again and perhaps do the other hike that Rodrigo offers. Having Rodrigo as a guide feels like we gained a friend in Rio.

    Activité à faire absolument. Lever de soleil a couper le souffle sur Rio. Montée un peu difficile mais à la portée de tous. Guio Rodrigo a été un guide très attentif et très prévenant afin que la montée reste accessible à tous.
