We had a fabulous time with the Monkeys and the staff. The hospitality, education, and time with the different monkeys was amazing. The staff made it so fun and interactive. The monkeys were playful, gentle, and curious. You can tell how deeply the entire team cares for the animals there. Jessica was just the sweetest and shared so much with us about the whole place. Would highly recommend to anyone of all ages. Made great memories with our kids.

The monkeys bite. Made me bleed too. Wouldn’t recommend for a small child to come. Or adult in general. They didn’t offer a refund at all even if I have to pay to go get rabies shot and get tested for any other diseases. I was having a great time until that incident occurred and they just brushed it off. Also big money hungry scam . They don’t allow you to use your phone and only let you have your phone for 10 min after being with the monkeys and taking pictures from THEIR camera . Package is $250 for just 10 pics . Wouldn’t go again unless they actually know how to handle their monkeys properl

We enjoyed the small group experience. Clearing about four different species of monkeys. It was nice knowing these monkeys were being cared for and protected at the rehabilitation facility. Staff was fun and very knowledgeable.

The monkey House VIP was definitely a great experience. I’m glad I did a little research before booking and decided to wear “street” clothes. Getting dressed up will leave you a bit dirty due to the monkeys jumping over you while eating fruit and potentially urinating on you. The only negative review I have is that the staff charged one $150-$420 for photographs taking at the venue. That was the most expensive set of photographs that I’ve ever experienced while on vacation. They were able to negotiate a little bit, but I still think the price is a bit steep. Other than that, the staff handling the monkeys were awesome and very informative.

Overall, this was a great family experience and we really enjoyed interacting with the different monkey species. The staff were friendly, and we appreciated that the photographers weren’t pushy about purchasing the photo packages, which we had expected based on previous reviews.
The monkeys appeared well cared for, although they seemed extremely eager for the small pieces of fruit used by the handlers to encourage interaction. I would have preferred the advertised “picnic” to involve actually sitting with the monkeys while they were given a proper meal, which would have felt more natural. Instead, we gathered in an area where they could roam and interact with us. Still enjoyable, but not quite the picnic experience described.
The photo packages were also very expensive—$275 for one video and 10 photos or $300 for the video and all photos. After spending nearly $500 on the activity for our family, we couldn’t justify the additional cost.
Lastly, while the photographers weren’t pushy, the staff selling drinks definitely were. We had to decline repeatedly while waiting, which became uncomfortable.
Despite these points, we really enjoyed the experience and would recommend it over the other monkey interaction options. A few adjustments would make it even better.

Remind them that the activity takes place on fruit trees, at this time they are full of mangoes and there is also a cherry tree where they play and eat as much as they want freely,
They don't feel guided because caregivers give them the same fruit.
It's a game for them and they love to feel attention and affection while playing.

Very fun! The monkeys were lovely and the staff were great! The pictures are very pricey ($20 For individual photo, $30 For Family pic, $150 For a video, $370 For all pics and video) BUT you can take a your own and we did!
You WILL get dirty (with fruit droppings and dirt), so bring clothes you are comfortable getting dirty and maybe some wipes to clean up afterwards.
I love that all the monkeys are rescued and trained. Staff was so great.

As a special needs mom, Monkey house were so accessible and helpful with my son! I couldn’t thank them enough and we had a blast! The professional pictures were beautiful and we ended up getting 4 and beautiful! Loved Monkey House and the staff! Definitely recommend it especially if you have an autistic child. 10/10

Only book this excursion if you are wanting to pay for pictures of yourself with monkeys. There is no educational information unless you ask a specific question which they will answer. The monkeys are coaxed onto sitting on you including your head (sticky and dirty paws in your hair) while they snap pictures. The monkeys disappear as soon as the photos have been taken. You will want to shower and change clothes as you will be covered in an array of dirt/feces. We were a small group so they continued feeding the monkeys fruit so that they basically swarmed us. We were very disappointed at how unashamedly they used the monkeys for profit.

The monkeys play and jump on fruit trees loaded with mangoes and bananas, play in a cherry tree that is currently full of rich and sweet cherries, they eat everything they want from there, and they love to play with visitors because they receive a lot of attention and affection and they love that.
We are surprised that he says he received no information because we spent the activity giving curious facts about them and each species.
Yes, they can pee on you as they are free and it is a natural part of their behaviour.

The monkeys were adorable and interacting with them was definitely the highlight of the experience. However, there were several disappointing aspects that made it hard to enjoy overall.
The biggest issue was the outrageous price for the photos. They were simply taken with an iPhone, yet we were asked to pay over $400 for the package. There was also no clear pricing beforehand, which felt misleading. Similar complaints about expensive photo packages have been reported by other visitors as well.
Another unpleasant surprise was the piña colada. It was presented as a complimentary drink and part of the experience, but we were later charged $20 per drink without being clearly informed in advance.
Finally, be careful with the monkeys. They're friendly and fun, but they can scratch or bite if you're not paying attention, so follow the staff's instructions closely.
Overall, the monkeys are amazing, but the hidden costs and aggressive upselling left a very bad impression. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're prepared for the extra charges.

I would like to clarify that photographs are not taken with an iPhone, they are taken with one of the best camera equipment currently on the market, we make a video of your experience and this one is made with the iPhone 17 Promax since the quality and sharpness of the image is the best. The prices of the photographs are found in many information points, in this way without going any further, it has them in our profile photos, in the menu.
We also like to remember that shopping is absolutely optional, you had a picnic with all the baby monkeys and really enjoyed making your own.

Very cute monkeys. This is a monkey rescue which was nice to see. Photos taken were very good. We did not buy them though. You can take your own photos too. The staff were very nice and informative. The monkeys interacted well with guests and loved being outside playing on the grass and in the trees. You will get dirty. Great experience. Have fun!

I went on the 21st and all I have to say is that they have no control over those monkeys…. One bit my 3 year old and we had to go to the hospital for rabies shots. I wouldn’t recommend Monkey House if you have little kids, Monkey Land is way better with better scenic views as well.

I was very skeptical about this place. But the reviews sold me. This activity includes transportation to and from your hotel. Once you arrive you fill out some paperwork. You can look at their small gift shop while everyone is arriving. They brought a monkey out immediately.. they have lockers to lock up your belongings. Alll the workers were sooo nice. They start taking pictures right off the back. I was also skeptical about the photos. But I was sooooo wrong. The photos and videos were some of the best quality and angles from the workers. They let you bring your phone out towards the end. Moneys were funny and crazy. Literally jumping to each person. I highly recommend getting a piña colada at the end of bathrooms/sinks on site.
They even put together a 5 min video together of everyone in our group. The video was sooooooo good. Best quality ever. Highly highly recommend.

Best excursion of our entire trip! The staff did a great job of making sure our group of about 20 each got a good amount of time with each species. They were also very friendly and made the experience very pleasant. Transporation/start time was late, but that's very normal for the DR, so don't let it bother you. The only negative is the cost of the professional pictures. You can't take your phone (reasonably - the monkeys would take it), so instead the staff takes pictures of you to buy later. Wasn't expecting them to be over $200, so be sure to budget that in.
Tip - You should wear a hat and shorts! The monkeys get in your hair and walk across your legs. The dirt comes off easily with water on your thighs, but will ruin your pants.

I must say this was one amazing excursion. I been to Mokey Land and this one is by far much better. The way we got to interact with all type or monkeys was the highlight of my vacation. I am an animal lover and this was such a wonderful experience for me and my family. Everyone was so friendly and very nice. Will come back next time I return to the DR for sure.

It was a fun and unique experience. We did not experience any bad behavior from the animals, like biting. However, I did get peed on and pooped on! I wish they would have offered wipes when this happens!
The staff were kind and gave us a special present when leaving. That is why I am leaving 5 stats!

Monkeyhouse is a sanctuary for monkeys. They have different species of monkeys which was awesome to interact with the various species. Many of the workers live there and ypu can see how much they care for the monkeys. My 22 year old daughter and I absolutely oved this experience. They provide so much hands on time with the monkeys. You can hold them, bottle feed a monkey and enjoy lots of play time with the monkeys. You will get dirty as they run all over you so wear appropriate clothing. The monkeys run around from the ground to your lap, head, shoulders to whatever they feel like jumping on and is so much fun. The staff have wipes available if needed. This is different from. Monkeyland. We heard you do not get as much time with monkeys at monkeyland and you can not hold them like you can at monkeyhouse. We also liked that we were supporting a sanctuary for monkeys. Many were pets people could not continue to care for and monkeyhouse provides them a safe place to be cared for. The staff are very educated on the species of their monkeys and you can see how much they care for them. We would definitely return.

This is amazing and very interactive, the moneys will sit on you, run across your shoulders, and climb onto your head. You will get fruit and juice on you, and you'll get kinda dirty. It was totally worth it and fun for me and my family but some folks near us seemed overwhelmed or afraid. There was a sales pitch at the end with a nicely edited video, but when we declined they didn't push. I definitely recommend this 💗

We had a wonderful experience interacting with the monkeys! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly shared a special bond with the animals. The experience allowed us to interact with several different types of monkeys, making it both fun and memorable.

We were excited to go to Monkey House based on reviews; unfortunately we never made it. We waited for an hour to receive a text requesting we change our time. We were unable due to other commitments. They then communicated they would send someone to get us. When we booked we confirmed they could pick us up at the hotel. I then get a message they can’t get in to get us and we would need to walk out. The concierge desk told us Monkey House picks up at our hotel. I have requested a refund but have not received a response.

I accidentally booked Monkey House thinking I was booking Monkey Land, and as it turns out, it was the best mistake I made on our trip. In fact, another couple in our group had done the exact same thing.
From the moment we were picked up, the experience was excellent. Our driver was wonderful, friendly, professional, and helped set the tone for a great visit.
We spent well over an hour fully immersed with four different species of monkeys, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The staff were exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the animals. We learned a great deal about the monkeys, their behaviors, and their care.
The monkeys themselves were amazing. Be prepared, because they are curious, playful, and will be all over you. That level of interaction made the experience feel truly unique and unforgettable.
Initially, I was not thrilled about having to put away phones and cameras during the educational portion of the visit. However, as you sit and relax under the pergola, guests are allowed to bring out their devices and take their own photos. While the facility does offer professional photos for purchase, there is no pressure to buy them, and you still have opportunities to capture your own memories.
The property was very clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully organized. If you are an animal lover or simply looking for a unique experience, I highly recommend Monkey House. What started as a booking mistake ended up being one of the highlights of our trip.

So fun! Be prepared to get dirty as the monkeys jump all over you and they are motivated by juicy fruit (guaranteed to get on your clothes). Dirty clothes and messy hair are part of the experience and very worth it. The handlers are great with the monkeys (which are rescues) and you can tell they love their jobs. You get 2 hours of interaction instead of a few minutes like some other tours. Highly recommend.

It was really fun. You get to interact with all the monkeys. My 6 year old said his favorite part was when they jumped on his head. This is a rescue for animals found in pet stores or thqt were not being properly cared for as pets. All the caretakers obviously care about their wellbeing. You have the opportunity to buy professionally taken pictures but you can also take your own in the picnic area. We bought a few pictures because they looked really good. Overall, we would definitely recommend.

Our trip to Monkeyland was absolutely incredible, largely thanks to our amazing guides, Monica, Josue and Jacknel Tchelemaque! They went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a fantastic time. Not only were they super friendly and helpful with the monkeys, but they also shared so many fascinating fun facts about the animals and the area throughout the tour. It was the perfect mix of high energy, education, and pure fun. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone. 10/10 experience!
