This is a great day trip to take that is away from resorts. We rode through cute little towns. The best part was going to a family owned farm. Our guide, Wilton was amazing. He showed us how the plants develop from coca and coffee beans to the drying and grinding process. So many aspects of the farm was fascinating.

i had schedule the afternoon tour since i had another tour that morning, which happened to be running behind. due to the situation being out of my control, company was not accommodating in any way. i was not provided a service and the owner was reluctant to communicate with me, as it took two days to get their attention.

I thought it'd be more scenic. I've biked through Bali and Jamaica and have visited coffee plantations, picked lemongrass and saw the other foliage. If you haven't done this before, this bike tour would be nice but having done this before, it was just Ok.
My bike's seat kept falling down and it died on a big hill. The guide showed me how to enable the electric feature to get up the hill which was helpful

Excellent and professional from
pick up to drop off. Loved seeing the coffee farm and the bikes are excellent. Clear instructions on how to use and felt like I was cared for with water and recovery drinks. I would do this again when returning to PUJ. Loved that I was away from the tourist area and able to see the real locals and shop local.

Wilken was a great your guide who was patient and willing to answer any questions we had (wanting to know about the place and people we asked many.) The experience was what we were looking for in regard avoiding the typical tourist traps and high pressure sales of "markets." We got to through several small towns, the countryside, and visit a small plantation to see many of the Dominican's offerings. It was nice to feel like we were getting a semi-cultural experience vs the usual zip lining, dune buggies, etc. It was easy riding, very casual, and thoroughly fun. I would definitely encourage others to go for it if it is something on your radar. We did not opt for the hiking option, and we are kicking ourselves for not doing so. The group came to our resort to pick us up and made it a super easy process. It was very cool

Great people, nice coffee plantations visit. Pick up drop off availability was a plus. Overall great time.

Beautiful and interesting trip. Will’in the guide knew the area and history well. Mix of culture and natural beauty. Great conversation and area background along the way. Nice visit to coffee, coca and fruit plantation.

Wilkin was a great guide. Actual riding time was about an hour. We ended up being the only people, so we had a private tour. We got bananas and water as snacks, and were given samples of coffee and hot chocolate. Bike ride goes to a local coffee, vanilla chocolate plantation. We were able to see the home of the plantation owners, which is a typical farm house and it was neat to see.

We had a great time! It rained, but our guide had us covered - literally; he brought rain jackets! It was a cool experience seeing the island from a bike and it wasn't hard to petal or use even with the bumpy roads.

Wilkes was our guide and spoke excellent English. We used WhatsApp to communicate before the tour re: pick up timing/location, etc. Bike tour had a break mid-way where we learned and sampled local cocoa & coffee.

Wilken was an awesome tour guide! He spoke perfect English so was very easy to understand & was a conversationalist. The stop at the farm was fun too. We learned about processes of coffee and cocoa & had the chance to support local.
Would highly recommend!

We had a great tour guide, great weather, and learned some cool facts. The plantation we went to was well maintained and had items available for purchase

We were unable to make our original reservation due to my husband being sick, and they were very accommodating to switch it to another day. They picked us up at our resort and drove us to the location where the bikes were. We were given very little information, essentially just how to use the pedal assist on the e-bike. Then we were off with just us and our guide. Thankfully we have done many bike and e-bike tours before because our guide did not speak English well, and we already knew the hand signals. The first two thirds of the ride is on main roads, so there is a lot of car traffic. We then went onto dirt roads where there was still some traffic, but not as much. Throughout, there was some rough terrain including speed bumps, potholes, etc. The plantation stop was interesting and informative learning how the coffee, cacao, and vanilla beans are grown. Then we rode back to a little further than where we started to Macao Beach which was gorgeous. They gave us time to explore there, then we walked back to the van for our ride back to the resort. It was about an 8 mile bike ride total, and you got to see how real Dominicans live. We enjoyed it, but for someone who is less experienced in cycling, it might be challenging with the roads, traffic and operating the e-bike.

There was 5 of us. None of us ever used an ebike before. Guide could have instructed us alittle better about how to use the bike. He should have had better prepared to have bikes in working order, in fact one of us used it manually, because the electric part was not working. The ride is part pavement and part gravel. A bit scary to road with ongoing traffic, but necessary to get to location. Overall I am giving a 5 as we all did enjoy the experience and tour of the garden area, and personal housing. Bring some cash for small purchases.

we paid for 3 hours and was over in 2 basicly main roads and i little off road stopped of at alittle farm and that was it rode back the same way on the main road again its a shame because i think it could be more intresting

I can't say enough about this experience, one of the best excursions ever!
I booked this late at night the day before we wanted to go and received an immediate response. Messaging and calling through WhatsApp made it easy to communicate.
Both the guide and driver were friendly and knowledgeable. We had a small group, only 3 on our tour, which was nice. But they keep the group size small and limit it to 10 people anyway.
They were on time for the pickup at our resort and the SUV they picked us up in felt clean and safe.
NOTE about pickup!!!! If you stay at Hard Rock, the Hotel's policy has changed (unknown to the tour operator). Hard Rock will no longer let them on the property to pick up guests. So you have to get a cab from the lobby to the Main gate out by the highway. (I suppose you would walk, but it's pretty far. A cab was about $10 USD each way.) Upon return, they are required to drop you off at the front gate and you have to again take a cab back to the lobby. This isn't the tour operator's fault, and it's really not a big deal as long as you know. None of us knew so it was a bit confusing for all of us but we got it worked out. Just plan ahead.
Visiting the Coffee and Cocoa plantation was very informative and educational, and ALL of the town people that we came across were all so appreciative and friendly. At the coffee/cocoa farm, there are some very nice ladies selling bracelets, coffee, cocoa, vanilla and of course Mamajuana at reasonable prices. So if you're able, they appreciate you buying something, but they don't pressure you.
One note, I do not know if they have smaller bikes, so I wouldn't recommend this for small children without talking with the tour operator. These bikes might be too big for children under 10.
It also only took us a couple of hours so if you want to get out of your resort to explore without being gone for a full day, I'd recommend this tour! I am glad I did!

We had a wonderful time on this tour. The guides were super nice and very knowledgable. In addition to seeing some of the beauty of the Dominican Republic beyond the beach, we learned a ton about how coffee, chocolate and vanilla and other crops are grown and harvested. The bikes were in good shape (and I'm a biker). This was a great tour. Book in the first day or two of your trip - you may want to book a 2nd or 3rd tour with this group!

Our driver, Jos and guide, Alberto, were very good. Mostly flat paved smooth roads. Jos followed us in SUV so no worries about safety or bikes. We visited a farmer and his wife and tasted coffee and cocoa they had grown. We also went to a beach on Atlantic side of island. Great way to see the island!

Booked a tour as we were desperate to get off the resort and see the real Dominican. It was a fantastic decision as the tour was brilliant. We were collected from the hotel and in regular contact with the guide via whatsapp. Bikes were excellent quality and the battery assist on the ebikes was a welcome help up a few hills. Our guide and driver were very friendly and knowledgeable.
We felt completely safe at all times as the driver followed behind us throughout the duration of the bike tour.
We biked to a local house and were shown around a local house and small holding. We got to see coffee beans, cocoa, mangoes, avocados, cherries, vanilla and much more. It was wonderful and a really personal tour no hassling to buy.
Then we biked to the beautiful Playa de Macao beach and had a short time to chill there before heading home in the car.
The only thing that was negative was that we were expecting a longer tour. In total from collection to drop off it was 2.5 hours. We were expecting 3 hours of biking and the 30 minutes transportation either end of the tour.
I would highly recommend this tour.

We had a great time! We really enjoyed the scenery and meeting local people! Our tour guides were awesome! Highly recommend!

About 20km ride, wish it was longer but I’m a cycling hobbyist. Guides were great and on time. Bike was in great working order. Tour of coffee, chocolate farm nice to see and hear more about Dominican heritage. Guides spoke flawless English so easy to understand and get a lot of information. Highly recommended.

Great guides! Really friendly, prompt, informational, and helpful. Easy hotel pick up and return. Very nice countryside tour and wonderful to meet local family and tour their plantation home. Thank you!

Great adventure! The guides were very friendly and accommodating. Plenty of local flare. Not for beginner bikers, difficult road conditions with rocks and deep mud/puddles. Prepare to get dirty.
Jack_R, Apr 2022
Nice trip, would recommend as a nice way to see the real island. Visit to the plantation family was particularly nice
Nicole_L, Apr 2022
Booked this excursion and ended up being the only one. Felt very safe as a female solo traveller.
Very informative guide - explained details of the towns we cycled through and the flora at the plantation. Beautiful family opens their home and property to visitors at the plantation stop - opportunity to buy coffee and vanilla at very reasonable prices.
Must do excursion! Best part of my trip to Punta Cana.
Clara_H, Feb 2022
We liked it a lot. Very well organised and we felt safe all the time. Nice to se the roads and small town up close. Much better perspective than sitting on a tourist bus/truck.
Duane_P, Jan 2022
Visiting a beautiful small plantation and getting samples of coffee and cocoa which you can purchase, as well as vanilla.
Sarah_V, Jan 2022
I rarely write reviews but this Mtn bike ride was so excellent! Our leader, Jose, was thoughtful and professional. The fact that all bikes were electric-assist ended up being important. Loved the town and visit to coffee/cacao farm. Streets through town were pretty tight but fine. Highly recommend!
Laura_O, Oct 2021
Wonderful guide! They even emailed me photos they took for free, so kind and patient and informative!
Sharon_O, Sep 2021
Guide was very friendly and rode at our pace. It was nice to be able to see how the people of DR really live. My brother in law, wiped out at an intersection and the locals came by to check and see that he was ok. It was nice to get away from the resort snd do something that didn’t involve drinking.
