I was looking forward to this excursion but unfortunately did not like it. Too many people on the island. The beach is full of rocks(awful). They run out of food and had to way long before they brought more chicken. All you can drink was terrible. They just had sodas and one brand cheap rum. Do not get massages on the beach ,they are expensive and mediocre. Very basic massage. Don't waist your money on that,neither on this excursion . We went to 6 different ones and this is the only one we didn't enjoy 😉

Travel time not worth it, no English, and boat employee doing drugs

It takes 4+ hours to get to the island. When we got there we only had two hours to enjoy it. Also note they do not speak English, so it was difficult to know where to go and what to do. Lastly, my 13 year old niece and I proceeded to watch of the boat entertainers do drugs. Where we were seated on the boat we were in front of a cabinet where this employee was ducking his head into every 10 minutes he was trying to hide what he was doing but we clearly watched him take a drag of something.

We had an amazing time at Saona Island. The crew was very friendly and helpful. The lunch was great, with good diversity. Tipping isn't necessary, but it's good to help them. The only thing that bothered me was that the massage therapist insisted so much that I felt coerced into paying for it, and it wasn't that good. I would recommend it to everyone that want swim at a warm sea and just relax.

Beautiful beach and fun and friendly staff. It would be helpful to let people know that communication is through WhatsApp as not everyone has that app. And I’d recommend that the staff remind guests about throwing garbage away instead of throwing it into the ocean and encourage recycling. It’s paradise to be here but there was so much garbage around and no one cared to be responsible. It’s sad. Otherwise it was a great excursion.

Holy smokes… this trip was a nightmare. Lowlights: - NOT A CATAMARAN TRIP. Regular, jam-packed speed boat. Very disappointing -trip not as advertised -4/5 of the day was travel time doing absolutely nothing. My wife was sleeping Half the day because it was mostly just travel time on the bus. - boat employee called me a “pendejo” not knowing I speak fluent Spanish - over served, highly intoxicated individuals tried to start a fistfight with one another on our car ride home - photographer charged us $40 for 4 pictures while only charging the couple next to us $50 for 10 photos - bus blew a tire! we were told a new bus was coming to pick us up, then proceeded to drive 2 hours back on a FLAT TIRE. No new bus. Incredibly unsafe. - tour guide hopped off the bus an hour away from the return point because we were suppose to be done at 630 and we got back to the hotel at 9. Mind you, our day started at 7 am. - vulture-esque vendors who won’t leave you alone Highlights: - beach and island were beautiful -tomatoes were delicious

Hi Erica, I'm sorry that your experience was a nightmare as you say. I will respond to your highlights. - As published, the departure is by speedboat and return by catamaran or vice versa, in your case, the departure was done in a motomaran (which is larger than a speedboat) and the return by catamaran. - All the mentioned activity is carried out on the announced trip. - Your hotel was Excellence el Carmen, the journey is longer since it is located in the uvero alto area. - That a ship employee offended you, I apologize, but all of our staff is polite and willing to help. I don't understand why you said that, so I apologize again. - That they tried to start a fight is something that is out of our hands, even so our staff is attentive so that this does not happen and avoid these types of situations. - Photography is something external to the excursion and you decide if you want to buy them for the price they offer or not buy them. - Yes, when leaving the port of embarkation they realized that a tire was out of air and the trip to Punta Cana took longer since they had to come slowly and in Punta Cana they changed transportation to take them to their hotel. - We find vulture-type sellers on all excursions, on the beaches if we go for a walk or anywhere. Anyway, I'm sorry that your experience was a nightmare. Greetings
